I had some crayfishes before. They fight each other but not to the point to kill the other. But yes, better not have too many.
But what’s not good to have with them are real plants because they eat them all. And slow fishes with long fins because they can catch them and eat as well or part of the fins. Fast fishes are ok.
I like plants so I decided to don’t have them anymore.

"I may just have too many."
*pans around the tank looking at all the crayfish up close.*
    Crayfish: *making slurping noises*

Poor little guys, 10+ in that tank is borderline cruel. I’ve never seen so many inactive and injured crayfish outside of a pet store.

If you've ever gone to catch crayfish in the wild you'll find many of them in mud holes bunched together. They need to be in groups. Maybe not that many but they shouldn't be alone.

One of myexican dwarf crayfish is more than 3 inches and ate the one which was the same size! I had 6 in 20 gallon long tank with lots of hiding spaces but now 5! 😩😭

Awww thats sad, yeah they can be aggressive towards others and end up eating them. I am surprise they still ate their friend even though 20 gallon tank is pretty big.

I throw in pellet food once or twice a day or just use the automatic feeder to automatically dispense food every 12 hours!

Is that water depth too much for crayfish?

Hiiii, I have had these guys in the 10, 20, 29, 55, and now 75 gallon tanks and they have no issues what so ever. I provide them enough oxygen and do a frequent water change so if you are worried about the amount of oxygen in the tank, then you don't have to! But if you are just worried about the depth, then I would say they are fine because they are doing great! Hope this helped!

Couple things. First of all, wild crayfish live water depths from 6 inches to 30m (98ft) so no aquarium anyone can buy from the local pet store will ever be a “bad depth”.
Secondly in regards to the oxygen, crayfish do require more than other aquatic pets but as long as the tank isn’t still water and has some decent circulation from a filter or air stone, they have gills for a reason and there’s no need for them to leave the water in captive environment, although I do like to keep fake plants and/or structures that near the surface in the middle of the tank since they do seem to enjoy climbing and will occasionally stick their head out (keeping in mind they will try to escape, so keep high spots away from edges and any openings in the lid.) They very seldom leave the water in the wild, and when they do it’s not by choice but to find a new habitat usually at the risk of death if they stayed in their last spot.
I hope you read this and got this far.
Third but certainly not least, you 100% have way too many crayfish in that tank.. Even if you judged it by just the volume, minimum I’d ever put an individual crayfish is a long 15 gallon, meaning the theoretical maximum for your tank would be 5. Crayfish are relentless bottom feeders who spend their day sifting through the substrate and basically eating the entire time they’re active. From what I’ve learned, the best way to determine how many crayfish can share a tank has nothing to do with the volume but the overall length and width, giving each crayfish at the very least 1 square foot of ground as “their territory” and I’ve never kept more than 3 in any tank. Having 10+ in a tank that size is borderline cruel, no wonder they’re all motionless. You’re making these creatures live in constant fear of each other. Molting is a delicate and difficult enough process for them as is, and now yours have to do it under tons of stress. No wonder they’re all losing claws, between rushing through the final stage of molting to getting them chopped off trying to defend itself after molting. Honestly kinda heartbreaking to see, it looks pretty but in reality your tank isn’t much better than the breeding farms they were likely born in.
