  • The stand-up comedian, writer and producer shares with Charlie Rose his process behind his latest project, "Horace and Pete," which some say will change TV as we know it. He also describes why the project was so "personal" and "satisfying" for him.

How is it that a man can do so many great things, but if he makes one mistake, even if it is a very small one, everyone forgets all the good you've done, and focuses only on your one error? Louie didn't even do anything wrong, and people just won't stop talking about a simple misunderstanding between adults.

We are all fans of Louie's work but what he did was wrong. Surely, it's between 2 adults but there is a power dynamic involved when an established comedian making a bizarre request to upcoming amateur comedians. Louie realizes that too but sadly we live in a society where he needs to go to every TV/radio to acknowledge this & redeem himself.

There's something very unusual about Louis CK's acting. In SNL sketches it's like he doesn't put effort into acting and to make it look real, but somehow it looks much better that way. In his multiple series, he looks like he himself is going through those stories. Your brain forgets it's an act. It's hard to separate his characters from reality.
He brings a strange effect and realism into whatever story he's on, that I haven't seen even in the biggest names in acting.

Louis CK is so underrated it hurts. he is not just a comedian. he is one of the few, as Carlin would say it - and like Carlin himself, transformed from a 'jester into a philosopher poet'. Likening series TV shows to vacuum cleaner salesmen, it's not like that's a hilarious thing to say, but I laughed more at the astonishment of the observation and the randomness of the metaphor. I mean vacuum cleaner salesmen don't even exist anymore but he just puts things in such a beautiful and funny way, he makes you take in life slightly differently, at least for me.

I agree the show was snubbed tho I wouldn't say there's nothing like it. It's very similar to a play/ film Abigail's party, also another film Life is Sweet. There's also another tv show from the 90s Ideal, it's different but it has a lot of similarities in tone and structure.

I love Louis's comedy, but I´m not so sure about this show. Plus, he's kind of a bad actor, needs more training. those are the risks when you want to produce, write and act in your own show. Cinema is almost always better in teams unless you want to do artsy stuff.
