- This is a real-time demonstration illustrating technique and patient interaction involved in the Abdominal Examination.
The film was produced by practising clinicians to aid the teaching of clinical examination skills. It starts at the point when the clinician has finished taking the medical history and begins the clinical examination.
Presented by Dr Adam Scott MS FRCS (Edin) FRCS (Eng) Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon. Produced and Directed by Dr Irene Peat FRCR FRCP, Dr Nicholas Port MBChB BSc and Jon Shears.

Abdominal assessment...i thought inspection, auscultation, palpation and percussion is the correct sequence? How come he auscultate last? The bowel sound is no longer accurate

He did some healing on her endocrine system. He checked a lot of things automatically, and about 50% of his patients didn't feel anything at the time.

In the exam setting, one would complete by saying, "I will also check the external genitalia, hernia orfices and a rectal exam." There is no need to perform any of this in the exam situation.

depending on what sound it makes, you can tell if there is something, that shouldn't be there, like liquids in an area, where no liquid should be or something hard, where nothing should be hard

when we examine a 50 patients a day .. we gotta use sanitizer to prevent infection from one sick patients to a immunocompromised one ... here is only one patient .. and it's a demonstration not a real patient probably .. so he just acts
why would you act like your putting on hand sanitizer? I know why they use it im not an idiot, I just don't understand why you would have to actl ike your cleaning your hands. actors don't act like they are drinking water, they do. that's why acting is different
