Whenever performing an abdominal exam, the legs of the patient should always be flexed on both hips & knees (the abdominal muscles are in a relaxed mode when the hip & knees are flexed)
Few things to add in inspection: 1) shape of abdomen (normally: flat/scaphoid/protuberant in children) 2) symmetry of abdomen 3) umbilicus (normally: inverted and inward)
The abdominal lecture that you present is crucial and well understood. So I understand it better than the lecture that I have attended so far. Thanks you for making this topic easy for me and I really appreciate it.
Well Explained..very very helpfull Sir..❤❤🙏🙏please please...please sir make videos on Respi,Cvs and Cns Examination also..because we have final MB exam from 4th March..we need your lectures..🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏.

While percussion all the fingers were touched to the skin. While I learned in my college that only the middle finger (pleximeter) should be touching the skin.
Method of doing Shifting dullness test is wrong When we get dull note in supine position, say to to move in lateral position in opposite side without taking off hand from the abdomen where dull note was found
Sir I visited physicians so many times as I had stomach issues no physician performed so clearly stomach examination they used to write usg abodmen amd pelvis directly
All this need not be done on every patient . based on clinical features , experienced doctors can directly come to a provisional diagnosis and suggest few investigations if necessary to confirm the diagnosis.
Sir, a doubt, while examining abdomen, the abdominal muscles should be kept in a relaxed state, for that we ask the patient to flex their thighs and knees na sir throughout the examination?
I am always curious to know more about human and functions of body . genuinely this is fantastic and intersting also .i am from arts field .but I am interested in science ,facts.
Dr....I'm fèeling a sharp pain in my upper abdomen for the past three days....Could it be that I'm not fully healed after having my son six months ago?
Why is palpation done after percussion? wouldn't it be better to do it before percussion in order to not undergo percussion in case of pain? and won't percussion also cause abnormality in the movements of abdominal muscles?
Sir,,, you are hearing bowel sound at wrong site. It should be palpated at Right side of umblicus where ileum meet Large intestine.. Bowel sound is said to be absent if there is no sound for 5 minutes

What if the navel part hurts?
@@Om3gla you can never get hurt during inspection sister.
@@popcorn3860 not talking about during an inspection I’m asking what if only the navel is hurting
@Aisha r That all comes in the history...also in palpation it is checked whether any tenderness is felt
