    Whenever performing an abdominal exam, the legs of the patient should always be flexed on both hips & knees (the abdominal muscles are in a relaxed mode when the hip & knees are flexed)

    Few things to add in inspection:
    1) shape of abdomen (normally: flat/scaphoid/protuberant in children)
    2) symmetry of abdomen
    3) umbilicus (normally: inverted and inward)

    Auscultation should be done prior to palpation or percussion because you can alter bowel sounds if you feel around prior to listening

    While percussion all the fingers were touched to the skin. While I learned in my college that only the middle finger (pleximeter) should be touching the skin.

      Yes it should cuz doing the percussion after you wouldn't get the right sounds or hear correctly

    Method of doing Shifting dullness test is wrong
    When we get dull note in supine position, say to to move in lateral position in opposite side without taking off hand from the abdomen where dull note was found

      All this need not be done on every patient . based on clinical features , experienced doctors can directly come to a provisional diagnosis and suggest few investigations if necessary to confirm the diagnosis.

    Sir, a doubt, while examining abdomen, the abdominal muscles should be kept in a relaxed state, for that we ask the patient to flex their thighs and knees na sir throughout the examination?

    Why is palpation done after percussion? wouldn't it be better to do it before percussion in order to not undergo percussion in case of pain?
    and won't percussion also cause abnormality in the movements of abdominal muscles?

    Sir,,, you are hearing bowel sound at wrong site.
    It should be palpated at Right side of umblicus where ileum meet Large intestine.. Bowel sound is said to be absent if there is no sound for 5 minutes
