I'm actually one of the mods for Super Mario Maker 2, and while I can't speak for all of us, I personally had a blast watching through the entire run. Great stuff, Doug... oh, and Doug's chat. Can't wait to see you all get that elusive sub-38 next.

@@MichaelWBauer There currently aren't any plans to add it as its own category, but if there's enough demand for it, we may add a variable for it on the current leaderboard. All depends on how many people are actually willing and able to complete a run like this.

Jonnyman is literally the greatest antagonist ever: tragic backstory, epic introduction, and keeps the heroes on their toes at all times. The villain always had the plot twist where he actually wins so that it makes a win even more epic in the next arc, or when he joins the hero's side to face the real evil. He's someone who you want to win and lose at the same time.

@@sparkie1j A small number of sabotagers makes things interesting, but enough people doing it just makes it impossible. Plus, it'd favor bigger streamers over smaller ones, since a smaller streamer's chat could be more easily overwhelmed.

This video's plot is such a master class in balancing on a razor's edge. Having this kid be the rival of Twitch chat could've so easily spiraled into unpleasant territory, but somehow it stayed friendly, jonnyman seemed to appreciate the momentary, relatively large boost in interest, and the video is hilarious. 👏
As from Portugal, I too spent time in the Mario Maker mines... The hours are stressful, but at least we get some frango (chicken).

Sometimes I get a little scared of his twitch community growing too much, I don't mean I worry about him growing in popularity, deserves so much more recognition than he gets, but the thing that makes this work and so beautiful is how tight nit the community is, if it grows and grows we will lose that, the more people could mean the worse, at least a possibility

@@smearfo5612 it’s because the person who makes “refreshing” levels made them to be simple, easy, and almost impossible to fail. And they pretty much all share the exact same layout.
But not so much with multiplayer. In fact the levels become almost impossible to beat in that case. A legendary moment happened when alpharad was playing Mario maker co-op with his friends and managed to get stuck on this level for almost an hour

And then after he and his friends finally overcame the level that was literally just supposed to be designed to be easily beaten for free extra lives. They thought they were safe, but then in the same superworld in a later video there was Another “refreshing course” which was basically the exact same level, but again. And the pure despair in all of their voices at the realization made these “refreshing” levels pretty infamous and iconic. And sort of an inside joke in the Mario maker community.

As a Portuguese I can affirm our whole life is Mario. I have not seen my family since I was 3, when I was taken away to start practicing in the art of Mario games.
