I bought the same gun I nickle in 1974 for 340 bucks.the original bushing lasted 11 years and 3000 rounds.It was the most accurate fixed sight handgun I've ever shot .I still have it and enjoy it.
I bought a blued one in 76 and shot factory ammo and some fairly hot reloads through it, don't know how many rounds I put through it,but, it was a lot. Never had a minute of trouble with it. Recently acquired two more,one us blue with the collet bushing and the other one is stainless with a solid bushing. I did order a collet bushing off of ebay. They both shoot just fine.
Gettin my first 1911 in about 2 month for my 21st bday from SA (A1) already have it on layaway, can tell just from having it in my hands that its well worth the $ and seeing from your recommendation i think i made an excellent choice lol already have a glock but theres nothing like a 1911. Beautiful handgun you have there sir
I have two of these, one is a Colt MK IV Series 70 Gold Cup National Match, and the other is a Colt MK IV Series 70 Government Model with Colt adjustable sights and I also have a Colt Combat Commander. All are .45 ACP's. Good video.
Love this gun, my first and so far only 1911. Best one out there. Sights suck, but otherwise as good as it gets. Mine is blued steel basic model. Someday need to get a good late model with decent sights.
Had a trigger job done on it, and installed the new bushing. Need to get it to the range to see how it shoots. Of course, I kept the original parts (trigger and bushing) to be able to restore it to its original configuration.
When I saw the front of the video I thought it was going to be one of the New called "Series 70 models". btu when I saw the words "Manufactured in 1978" , aroused my interest in it. And I sai "oh an Authentic series 70 colt pistol".
My first pistol was this pistol. It now has over 10 thousand rounds threw it. I broke the slide release twice in the time. Other than that I don't remember it missing a lick. I bought it in Boiser City Louisiana in 1978. I paid......285.00 for it. I still have the tag. I don't carry it anymore. I went the route of the Kimber Custom Royal.
@@jenniferbradshaw298 Look for an older Browning BDA 380. Not always; cheap,, but a quality Browning design. SA/DA with de-cocker. Not pocket, necessarily, but very comfortable to shoot. www.gunbroker.com/item/801931662 is one on GunBroker, for example. Look for some reviews in RUclips. I gave one (two actually) to my daughter. I have a safequeen, and an 84BB variant. (Hope this helps.)
Oh Mr. patriot!!!! You own a REALLY great, awesome and beautiful gun. If I crawl until your house, do you sell to me that jewel? Hahahahaha.... I'm joking. My vivid compliments for your video and for the gun. Have a good life and enjoy it! Thumbs up. ;-) Dave from Italy.
Beautiful piece. Have you done anymore research as to the value of this particular gun? I happen to have come into what is at the very least a very similar gun. Gold Match Government model series 70 in nickel original box/paperwork and tools with 3 factory mags, and am having a hard time putting a value on it.
Check complete auctions on Gunbroker to see what they sold for. That can give you an idea. Check the auctions that actually finished with bids. Thanks for watching.
My moms late husband owned one and when he passed gave it to my mom but forgot to take out the bullets of the clip and the spring dosent go back up anymore
Hi. I have a Series 70 commander Colt Nickle finish. It looks like someone took some steel wool to it for some reason. Question:::: Is it possible to change the finish on it?? I'd greatly appreciate your knowledge on this matter. Very Sincerely Yours, JAMES.
I would not think that a threaded barrel for a suppressor would be common for that gun. I only had a trigger job done and changed the barrel bushing. Thanks for watching.
Ok, first of all. No ones going to take you seriously on firearm advice if your name includes "Call Of Duty" in it. Second of all, use actual words "u" and "ur" aren't words. Lastly, 21, because that's when I can legally conceal carry in my state, and besides how could a freshman in high school, without a job, afford a .45?
Douglas Zavala I bought it on Gunbroker a number of years ago on a penny auction, no reserve. Got it for $800 and change - quite a deal. The seller was local to me so I picked it up in person and I could tell he was not pleased that it sold for so little. Good luck on getting one. Thanks for watching.
Awesome! That is beautiful! I’m in love with the 1911, I think it’s the most beautiful gun in the world! Would you check out my channel and the 1911 I’m building?

Thanks for watching.
The Colt MK IV Series 70 Gold Cup National Match, is a very HOT Machine..
Yeah I really like shooting my Gold Cup, it will put one hole into the target if I do my part...
That is a gorgeous sidearm! Nice find for sure

Great video. I love those Gold Medallion grips.
Beautiful gun. you should make one video shooting that beauty!

Wow! 10k rounds! I confess that mine has been a safe queen! Good to know that it's so reliable. Thanks for watching!
@treblarefils Thanks for the heads-up on the bushing. I'll check it out.
@treblarefils Got the Brown "drop-in" bushing, but I've taken it to my gunsmith to have it fitted properly. Couldn't "drop" it in.
@petechett
Me too! I had a trigger job done on it, and I need to try it out!
Thats a beuty! Nice bid definetly
@MasonCaster
My first 1911 (and only other) is Springfield Armory Mil Spec, high quality, 3-dot sights, reasonable -- I recommend it.

Midwayusa sells a Colt branded bright stainless barrel bushing solid one that should work on that and match the nickel.
nice gun i got one thats the same thing but its satin nickel
My moms late husband owned one and when he passed gave it to my mom but forgot to take out the bullets of the clip and the spring dosent go back up anymore
Any normal 1911. 45 magazine should work. He should be able to replace that magazine easily and a gun will work. Thanks for watching.
Inokatsu? Was the hop up adjusted?
Damn thats perty.
Chulada de fusca
@farleyjj1 Alright, thanks! I'll look into that! Have you had a chance to use S&W's 1911? I got to use my uncles. Its quiiite nice.

wow
did u have to buy all the parts and put it together
i have a gun with the same model attachable with a silencer idk if its common in this gun..
I would not think that a threaded barrel for a suppressor would be common for that gun. I only had a trigger job done and changed the barrel bushing.

@aloaquiles
$800+, if that's your question.
I hate you right now! That is one fillipin beauty!
where did u buy it
@InspctrClouseau
Keep your eyes open on gun auction sites, Gunbroker, AuctionArms, etc. GunsAmerica has not been too satisfactory for me, FYI.

sounds like a bank robbery in the backround!!!
How much was it? I want one like that exactly!

farleyjj1 Wow you were really lucky! I'm 100% sure that gun could've costed alot more. Lol. Also thanks for answering.
Awesome! That is beautiful!
I’m in love with the 1911, I think it’s the most beautiful gun in the world!
Would you check out my channel and the 1911 I’m building?
Silver Baller
I would of bought it if it was 38super
Mexican.
If I was a rich man, I would get me one of those
sorry wrong question how much was it
Just bought this exact gun were you happy with the busing you put on it?
Yes, worked well. I shot the gun with the new bushing in Bullseye league for quite a while before having another 1911 accurized.
How much you want for it?
Well aren't you lucky.
would look better with nickel plated grips.
Eww no it wouldn't
Nice gun but it's not nickel, it's stainless. Colt nickel has a yellow patina to it.
Series 70 in stainless? I hope it is. Not sure how to confirm, but I'll look closer. Thanks for your comment.
At a quick glance in what I read, this Series 70 pre-dates stainless.
centurian318 it is 110% Nickel
its so SEXY!
