I bought 3 of the Model 77RSI rifles in the 80s. One for me (.250 Savage) and 2 for my son's first deer rifles (.243 WCF). A few years later, along came son #3 and he now has the .250 Savage. I also bought a #1 RSI in 7x57 which I still have. All great rifles!
@@KolyaNickD Min shoots sub moa with a 7x redfield at 100 yards. I imagine it'd shoot a bit better with better glass. I honestly was not even expecting sub moa but was super pleased. That was with handloads but the loads are clones of 168 SMK federal factory.
@Caleb Lummer thanks, even if its just 3 shots before barrel heat. I've seen one for sale (in UK) might have to go for it - need something for longer shots and not a huge fan of bolt actions.
I've had my M77 in 30-06 for a better part of 20 yr. Mine is the older tang safety.Accurate and elegant. Very nice rifle. Only complaint was hard red buttpad. This little rifle has a lot of felt recoil. A good limbsaver pad on it and its much better. Muzzle jump is a concern, but I have easily shit deer at 300 yds and hit right where the point of aim was. Great rifle. If I could afford another one I would most definitely.
I used to have a Ruger #1 like that but 30-06 caliber. It was my first #1 and surprised me how short it was when I finally got it. It also surprised me with its muzzle blast with that short barrel. Those things didn't stop it from being my most successful elk hunting rifle of all time. I sure did hate to take it out in bad weather though.
I don't care for the 243 personally but I love your rifles my brother. I really like the Mannlicher/full stock configuration of rifles and Ruger did it well, have you any experience with the Remington model 7 ms? Its got a laminated full stock which should be cool.
Had a RSI in 308 for a short time. Couldn't hit a thing with it open sighted. Seriously, it was all over the paper at 100 yards. I'm no slouch, either. Everything was tight and correct, so maybe it was the full stiock...? I'll never know. Ended up selling it on consignment. At least I didn't lose anything in the deal.
Have a #1 International in 30-06...it is a Beast. Beautiful rifle out of the box with waterfall walnut. Hunting Georgia woods I opted for a peep sight, might eventually go with scope as the eyes are aging though. I had purchased a MarIin SS Guide in 45-70, brought it to deer camp for aII the guys to shoot. The internaIs coIIapsed on the second shot. Not hot Ioads either. We were fortunate no one was hurt (brand new gun). The dealer wanted to send it to manufacturer for repair...IoI. AbsoIuteIy NOT acceptable. Purchased the RSI with the refund and have been happy with that choice ever since. Hope Ruger is doing a much better job of the Guide gun.
I got the 1022 as shown here and the 243 bolt 77 as shown here. I also got the number 1 as shown but mine is a 2506 instead of the 3006 like shown. I like all of them with the manlicher stock, everyone always asks me about them when I take them out shooting.
You are correct. Ruger hasn't produced a RSI in 9.3x62 but they have produced a few M77 Hawkeyes and NO.1's in 9.3 x62. I have one of the NO. 1's and love it.
@@farleyjj1 I just ordered the black laminate version because I couldn’t find the walnut anywhere. I fell in love with one that a guy had at the range a couple weeks ago
I am not sure what the "R" stands for, (Ruger?) but the "S" is for "sights" and the "I" is for "International" I also own a Ruger Model 77R (no sights) and a Model 77RS (with iron sights)

I love those stocks.
I have a group of 5 Ruger RSI myself and I really love them. Very nice inexpensive but beautiful rifles that are accurate and get the job done!
Excellent! What models and calibers?
What a collection
LOVE full stocks!
Yep!!! Thanks for watching!
Amazing collection man. I finally picked up an RSI in .308 and am in love with it. Great video too! Cheers
What group size do you get with it? Am thinking to get a 308 no1

I just bought a 77 RSI in .308 that I am having RJRenner convert into a super slenderized stalking rifle with upgraded iron sights and color case work
Just inherited one in 243. In flawless condition.
Great! Is it a Ruger #1 or a Model 77? Enjoy! Thanks for watching!
77 with a redfield scope.
@@johnm.515 classic scope too!😊

Always a good video, Fred.

@farleyjj1 you names Fred Farley? 😅 you know Carl Carlson 🤔

Barrels always seem shorter because of the short action of the #1. 30-06 is a great caliber. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for your kind comments. No, I have never seen a Remington model 7MS. I’ll check it out. Thanks for watching.
perfect! I can't find any m77 rsi now, in Canada. where are they!!!!

Internal whats? Bolt blew back ?
Do you prefer using a scope rail and weaver style rings over the factory rings to the integral scope ring to receiver?
He prefers to remain silent on this question, pleading 5th 🤐
Nice!
Super

9.3x62 please.

How does the 10/22 shoot?
Minute of squirrel!😊 It shoots fine. I installed Kidd trigger, bolt buffer, guide rod & spring, charging handle. Sweet carbine!
