Majora's Mask is a game that really doesn't mess around. The ranch is an early area and the implications are so messed up. Which speaks volumes of just how twisted this game can get later on. So buckle up people, this is gonna be a ride.
Gabriel Martinez You’re telling me. I was never told that I had to prepare my anus and bend over for the 3 day timer. I swear the amount of resets I did just to try and finish the dungeons was some of the most stressful gameplay in a video game I’ve ever done.
PyraXadon The three day timer is definitely stressful. Now, I adore the Anju and Kafei sidequest- it might be my favorite sidequest in gaming.
But completing it is definitely something that might finish you off with how so very long it takes.
I actually screwed up that questline at the final section of the sidequest. You can guess how much that upset me. Whenever people go "Majora's Mask is such a great Zelda game" I look at them with a cold stare, shaking my head saying "No. Majora's mask is not a 'great game'. Majora's mask is a stressful game."
As someone who's slow in puzzle solving, the looming 3 day timer is one of the absolute worst mechanics for someone like me to deal with in a game because of the pressure to finish within the time limit. I always gave myself a full 3 days with slow down time included, and I still had trouble reaching the boss till the second half of the last day. Good game, but can be painfully unfun at times.
Bhahahaha! I can picture Emile rolling on the floor pouting about how many tries he had to make to get that heart piece!!

It's funnier about the dog race if you remember how much trouble Chuggaaconroy had when he did the doggy race especially since he had the 'extra' help item.

That random golden dog over on the side is statistically the highest win rate/fastest dog on the race track. Picking him always gives you the best chances to win the race. Don't know if you knew, but its a well known/used trick among speedrunners.

Only if the Golden dog says something positive. If he doesn't know how he'll do if he he doesn't feel good he will lose or break even. But if he thinks he'll do well he will invariably win. Plus the blue dog will always lose even if he feels confident

Yay! The Bremen Mask Cucco march quest is one of my favorites in the game. Grog is creepy looking but he has such a big heart... and Cuccos are so cute as little chicks. Yay for getting the Bunny Hood and now, it's time to go back in time (again) for the next episode.
Are you sure you should be squeeing over the little cucco chicks, Masae? Remember what happened last time you did that in Minish Cap. And I think I just heard Emile scream as he's having an aneurysm for you winning the dog's race on your first try as a joke.

Dark thought it may be, but given that MM is dark as a whole, I like to subscribe to the fan theory that Romani Ranch Epona is actually just Termina's counterpart to Epona and not the original. Seeing as Skull Kid didn't like original Epona and said he "got rid of her for us".
Masae if you get the chance to read this "The dog with the golden fur has a higher chance at winning if it barks more than once than the others" I think they added that to the 3DS Version.

could you please release the chipmunk song in normal speed?
For the dog racetrack, I read online that in the n64 version; if you pick up a dog and it barks twice, it’s good. Barks once, performs average. Whimpers, performs poorly.
From chuggaaconroy: if the dog says something like “unstoppable” or “paws feel lighter” it’s more likely to win.
From other website sources: the gold dog is best dog when applying both of the previous criteria.
As for me: during the race I say things like “there’s no freaking way this one is going to win” and “look how far behind he is from the rest”.

On my first file, (named Zelda) I got that first try. but not as early as masae. (I just can’t blindly guess RNG)
Then my second file, (named majora,) it was probably my 5th attempt at the race track. I got fourth place a couple times, then didn’t bet enough rupees when I finally won, then much later I got the heart piece.
Majora wasn’t my luckiest file, mini games I got first try in my first file, took a few more tries on my second file.

Masae, if you're feeling particularly crafty, I know of a tutorial that teaches you how to make your own bunny hood!
Just beat this game again 100% at 12:50am. I love this game so much, although it took me 17 hours (total)
Notes I took immediately after beating the second dungeon before finishing the first one (because I got the bow and stray fairies early and left):
Side quest busting marathon
(Do not attempt this method unless your really confidant and have finished this game recently and are familiar with the mechanics and such)

6am open ranch- buy bomb keg (50 rupees)

Access to great bay- Zora mask
Play goron lullaby at snow head and leave, buy a magic bean and red potion at the swamp, and get spring water from the puddle next to the swamp shooting gallery.
