I've lived in both and that's why I talked about the disconnect between people in the city versus a smaller community. I appreciate the comments and thanks so much for checking it out.
My husband did 32 yrs in the military and he passed away 6 months ago. He would've loved this song because we're from a small town and you're not gonna see this crap go on here. We're all armed legally and we won't stand by and do nothing. We take care of our neighbors. Thank you for your service sir.
I'm so sorry to hear that. His service and your family's sacrifice is very much appreciated. We do need to do better by each other. It's a crazy time in the world right now but I think its on us to come together.
You should watch one of his live performances singing this song….it tells a lot more! That’s the town I live in! Thank you for your service and God bless you!
Thank you for your service! I take it as people in small towns have that community, unity and watch out fir each other. What people dont realize is there ARE small towns with blacks, mexicans and whites. People who see this racist, ARE the racist as they assume he is talking about a particular race. Obviously he is not. 🦋❤️🦋❤️
You are right I'm from New York and mostly everyone is for themselves, back in the 60's neighbors would look out for each other, those days are long gone everybody for themselves today. Sad 😔
Thank you for your service! I used to love the Marines that would salute when I drove on to the base (NAS Lemoore)! My dad was a Naval Aviator for 27 years. But my dad told me that the snappy salute was to the officer's sticker on the car, not to me! Even moving every 3 years as a Navy brat, our communities were very tight knit. We looked out for each other.
What people don’t want to see is I have slowed this video down and watched it nearly frame by frame. The Molotov cocktail is in a WHITE man’s hand, the WHITE woman giving the finger to the cops, the WHITE woman spitting in the cops face, the crowd being pushed back on the street by police are WHITE, the WHITE hand holding the gun in the store that the man knocked him down, the WHITE men pulling on the fence at the Capitol, the WHITE people blocking traffic on the highway were WHITE, and the WHITE people burning the flag. The rest were in hoodies and dark clothing and not once do you actually see a black person. Where we not told that it was not BLM destroying our cities, but it was Antifa and I have never seen POC as an Antifa member? I do believe that a lot of thought went into the video by the producer and they were trying to stress the point that it was “crimes” they were targeting and yet the racist that see these crimes as only being committed by POC. I have watched every reaction on RUclips I can find and found only 2 POC that have a problem with this song/video. Yet, the ones finding it racist or offensive are WHITE and the POC are laughing at that fact. What do you think the message is in that? Are they too stupid to see that the crimes are being committed by WHITES and want to reflect all the blame and implying they are being done by POC? Is this another ploy to create more division between the races? Are you going to allow those crimes to take place in your neighborhood to your family and friends?
I appreciate the comment and your view on the video. I certainly didn't see what is causing the up roar about it or why it may have been taken off certain platforms. In this day and age though people see what they want to see and its unfortunate.
😳😳😱 Whoa! Glad that’s over! This is my first time to watch, and hear, this. I left a small town similar to this, and living there for most of my life disturbed me worse than some large cities. I’m thankful I was able to move! Ok. Now, with that behind us…have you reacted to any older songs by Canadian groups? The official live version of Triumphs’s “Lay It On The Line” (where Rik Emmitt begins within a blue fog, wearinga red tank jumpsuit, and playing a double-neck guitar) is one of my faves. I think you might enjoy reacting to it. I believe him to be one of the best guitarists of all time. His vocals aren’t bad either, and his energy is amazing!
Its the history of the building that he did the video in is what some people is getting mad about in 1927 and black teen was hanged in front of the building
You also have to remember that all the people that died in the Las Vegas shooting. He and his family could have died that day as well. To me, this is kind of a tribute to those that lost their lives that day.
Another perspective about the controversy about this song is that the courthouse it was filmed in front of was the site of a lynching of a young black man in 1927. It’s not the lyrics or the video, but the location.
Well you are truly welcome and I appreciate that so much. Thanks for checking out the video. Its been great hearing other peoples thoughts on it as well!
Like you, I am a former USMC (enlisted when Carter was President). I also am not a Jason Aldean fan, except for three songs and this is one of them. I live in a small town, am descended from a slave but am white skinned but have a mixed race family. The biggest issue with many of the reviews I see for this song is people assume small towns are not ethnically diverse but they are! This song is 100% accurate! No way will we stand by and let our community owned businesses be torched and destroyed. We won't stand for the government trying to take our guns either. Like you said, we watch each others backs regardless of color, political views, social status. I don't even live in the South unless you classify Pennsylvania as southern, lol. There is nothing racist about this song. All news clips are CRIMES being committed (except the flag burning and that should be a crime is the USA). Semper Fi!
The point he seems to be making, is the crime in the big cities that is so destructive and destroying many people's lives, is something he doesn't want to see in his neighborhood. It makes common sense to feel that way. He goes to the point of letting these thugs know that they will be met with considerable force if they try. Any reasonable person would come to the same conclusion. There isn't any racism implied in this video at all, that I can see. Thank you for your service to our country.
I'm retired USAF and Vietnam veteran. Grew up in a middle class suburb of a large city in Kentucky Bluegrass. Most families black and white with veterans of WWII and Korea. Everyone watched out for everyone else. Every Mom was everyone's Mom. Don't know of anyone having a gun except for hunting. Most of us joined various services when our government called. Most just out of HS. We were friends. We lost some. But believe me if there was more than a fist fight everyone responded. Police were called and the perpetrator was held. I now live in an upper middle class multicultural suburbs in North Carolina. Same values God, Family, Country! Family of Veterans throughout the country. Suggestion: If you want to remain relevant you better make a commitment one way or another. No wishy-washy Marine. You've got to stand firm for something or you will not make it here. I'll wait to hear more from you before I subscribe. 🇺🇸 Peace!
Like your channel. I liked the songs message. I grew up and still live in the burbs of Dallas. I know my neighbors. They are from all over the world and are of all colors and religion. We all exist and tolerate one another. I promise, if any of the offensive behavior shown in the video was to happen near me, myself and others would be on the side of freedom and will help our community deal with the issues. Nothing wrong with freedom of speech but when it over flows into violence, distraction of others property and way of life that they have spent building, it becomes a crime. Shit people do behind the " my rights" BS that goes against our society, those people need to be held accountable for their actions. No free pass. You do a crime, you do the time. PERIOD! By the way, my favorite whisky is Weller, Old Weller and then Jack. They are the affordable working man's drink. Oh but I'm retired now and they still get it done. Lolol.
Thank you so much I appreciate you taking the time to let me know your view as well. I feel the same way. I can say I have never had Weller but the next time I head to the store I'm going to pick some up and have one for you. Thanks again so much!
I think people of all colors have destroyed this country I'm not scared to say it because it is the truth, And everybody has come to realize it. POC don't carry on the crazy racist crap as the whites does. I believe we all need to get along and become the human race.
Would love to see you go down the Home Free (acapella county/pop/actually all genres) rabbit hole. Go Rest High On the Mountain - Official Music Video. Thanks for your service!!
Thanks so much. I think you'll like a video I have coming up here soon that is in that type of range. I hope you check it out when I can get it posted. Stay good!
People automatically assuming that these ''act of violence'' are about 'black people' are actually the racists ones! , they're always contradicting themselves ,... only people with common sense would see that this song clearly means we live in a world full of violence from every type of people in the world & its disgraceful , people in 'small towns' won't let it take over and hurt theirs community , that is all , and only radical people would get that..
If people could use a song like this to start a discussion instead of an overreaction. I do have to say, no one has said they want to come take your Grand Dad's shotgun from you. Otherwise, peace!
I feel like they pushed this much further (in a good way) then it would have without them. Just the sense I get that this one kinda back fired on the ones who tried to cancel it. IMO
You have your opinion like I have mine but Jason is showing nothing but SCUM LOOTERS NO MATTER THEIR RACE. I have to ask though would you rather have people who love this song fighting next to you or the people who call this racist. I know it's such a HARD question to ask but needs to be asked.
I've stood shoulder to shoulder with men and women who didn't necessarily share the same political, religious or social views as me. What we did do was find the common ground that brought us together rather then focus on those differences. So to answer your question give me the people that can put our views of this song aside, look me in the eye and know we are in this together to accomplish the mission and that's who I will charge the hill with.
Well I appreciate you calling me out on something you believe. I'm glad that you are free to voice your opinion openly and put however you feel out there. Thanks. Just an FYI though, there is no such thing as an EX- Marine. Semper Fi
You must live in a city. Small towns take care of each other all colors. Young and old. Thank You for you're service.
I've lived in both and that's why I talked about the disconnect between people in the city versus a smaller community. I appreciate the comments and thanks so much for checking it out.
You’re right you take one of us you take all of us on. We take care of each other.

Not being RUDE, but doesn't anyone know the difference between RESPECT AND DISRESPECT ? Cause that's what this song is about.
Thanks so much for your perspective. It seems this video is being taken a lot of different ways.
Thank you for your service! I take it as people in small towns have that community, unity and watch out fir each other. My thoughts exactly! Thanks so much
The guy that punched out the thief was a Marine. U S NAVY vet.
Yes sir I do remember hearing that news story! Thank you for your service and thanks for checking out the channel. Semper Fi

I live in a small town in the North. People all know each other. People help each other. No flag burning here.
