Thanks for looking at our little channel ! Lots of our props are autonomous / robotic - For more about Animatronics take a look at our play list ruclips.net/p/PLr65de2xUB5PDVcf-JFc356syEuB0Y4tL and for more about how to make a Bubo, this video from 12:48 ruclips.net/video/cCz7USkbCOI/видео.html (electronics part starts at 15:40) To see Bubo partying with all the other owls on new years eve 2019 : ruclips.net/video/ivZQUcn6mUA/видео.html Enjoy!
Bubo says "Hi Cleo and Brud - hope your owner is looking after you better than mine - working conditions here are terrible and the birdseed rations minimal - way below the standards a class act like me should be getting ..." Mrs Breaker " Bubo who are you typing to on RUclips? you're a naughty bird come away from that PC."
Yea so tempting - the prop for the film was about 1/2 this size and it's easier to get movement with smaller pieces....the servos are not under as much stress with cardboard because it's light and not to mention, it's easier to carry round comic cons... A metal owl though robust would be a bit of an arm breaker ... Master maker is after a spot welder and a metal owl would be first on the list when he gets one...
@@PodpadStudios not thinking so much robotic more as a statue. as i make scultures some times. its one of my fave films. and i just love the owl. all my best simon oh keep up the fantastic projects
Thanks for your comment. Yes, one day we will make one out of metal. The original for the film was 1/2 the size of this one. and ref templates - we didn't really have any templates - just made it up as we went along. Even when we made 10 of them, we did use the lazer cutter and we had a small feather, a large feather, a tail feather, and cut some strips of card and circles for the necks. Then we trimmed the parts before sticking them together. That way each owl has its own character. More info see ruclips.net/video/cCz7USkbCOI/видео.html from 12:48 onwards
Bubo is neigh on offended - "If my performance is not enough they can sit on a bird table in the freezing English spring and tu-whit Tu-woo. I'm going to have some birdseed in the green room ..." (flounces off).. Oh bubo you're such a primadonna sometimes...

Thank you! 😊
I WANT ONE!!!❤❤
I loved Bubo as a kid.
They can be quite expensive to run, remember a Bubo is for life not just for clash of the Titian's, birdseed is pricey these days
Bubo & Cleo say "Hi" to big brother Bubo!
