Thanks again Richard. The accuracy on this is breathtaking. I have seen all of the models up close. This one from StarAce is a high gold standard. Fitting for this gift from the Gods!
The Ray and Diana Harryhausen Foundation and Star Ace Toys, Thank you so much for trusting us for Packaging Design :) It's honour to be small part of Great Ray Harryhausen Legacy. We love Bubo so much! He's cute and iconic. Must have item for Harryhausen fans.
For me, Mr. Ray Harryhausen was like the incarnation of some ancient god to revive and re-deliver the greatness of the divine in its manifold forms! Clash of the Titans was probably the first movie I have ever watched in my life, and it had the most profound influence on me. May he rejoice in the heavens with the celestial beings he so much was devoted to representing in this life.
Aww, little Bubo. My favourite character from clash of the titans. Having seen two of the models that were on display in the harryhausen exhibit, this new figure is fantastic. Such detail and hard work has gone into this. A true fan would be so lucky to have this to admire at home
Thanks. Check out the Ray Harryhausen podcast where we tracked down the voice of Bubo the Owl 🦉. Episode 30- The Music of Ray Harryhausen Vol. 5: Clash Of The Titans (Podcast Episode 2019)
Incredible! Bubo was part of the original Mattel line, but I don't think I bought him! Almost 14 cm, from the Mattel ad, "Bubo the owl has wings that flap, his head turns manually and he makes a clicking sound. His soft claws can grip a child's finger like a perch." It's great to see a highly detailed Bubo!
Aw, I've always loved Bubo, since I first saw the film as a child. I have to own this! One of my best theater experiences was going to a screening of Jason and the Argonauts at Lincoln Center in New York, where Harryhausen spoke about his work and showed off some models from his films, including one of the skeletons (with a cocktail sword) and the Gorgon from Clash.
This is so beautiful! I remember seeing a figure of Bubo advertised in a sci-fi magazine back in the 80's and I was so disappointed that he was never made. 40 years later and I can finally own a Bubo. I need to save my pennies to try and get one before he sells out.
This film still holds its own which is testament to the genius of Ray. This model looks amazing. I currently collect 6th scale Star Wars figs -think I need to expand my horizon with another childhood favourite. Visited the exhibition twice when it was recently in Edinburgh -seeing Bubo in 'the flesh' was a highlight!!!
Remember seeing this film at the cinema when I was 8. Love the classic stories and I was obsessed with Pegasus. Bubo has always been a favourite. Well done on the recreation, he really is something special.
Been waiting for this review. Ever since I saw Clash of the Titans in the early 80s when I was 9, i wanted a Bubo, and this one looks fantastic. My Bubo should arrive in a few days, cant wait to get him!
Fantastic to see this super clever little owl again, from a time long gone by, before CGI ruined everything in fantasy movies - thank you for posting this superb video A+*****
@@WalshBros Hi there, thanks for your kind reply, i just wish that i could buy this fantastic model for my daughter, but i've searched everywhere & cannot find any retailer that sells this model - can you help please ?
@@WalshBros Thank you for your kind reply, & i will try to locate this little bird on StarAce Toys, fingers crossed. What i find amazing is that its now 34 years since the release of Clash of the Titans, so its taken all this time for Bubo to appear ? When you compare this to the Star Wars movies, & the deluge of merchandise in every retailer around the world just after the movies were released, it seems odd that it has taken so long for Bubo to flap his wings so to speak, ha,ha !
@@minigun1949 well Jon Mattel made a prototype Bubo for release in 1981 but pulled it when the figures didn’t sell. This was because the Star Wars juggernaut pushed other film figures to the kerb with toy shops.
These unboxings are great, loved the anecdote about the original being found and Ray's warm reaction! This Bubo is a thing of beauty, so amazing that's not metal. Plus the mini figure as well... too adorable!
I can remember watching Bubo when I was little and just being spellbound. I really wanted him and totally believed he was alive! This is now at the top of my Christmas list! ( even if I buy it for myself!) P.S. Just watched Toryboy The Movie last night and absolutely loved it - hope you do more films in the future
Thanks Kay. I always thought Bubo would be at home on a Christmas 🎄 Tree. Thanks for watching ToryBoy. Do please leave an Amazon review. It helps move it up the vast list of movie titles. 😃
