No matter what heated wear you choose, make sure you have the heated wear close to your body with minimal clothing between. Think about this like heating your home! We heat from the inside and ask the insulation to keep the heat inside. We never try to heat through the outside through the insulation. Many people make that mistake and complain that they cannot feel the heat of the heated gear, no matter the brand!

I did a video on this recently. People need to read the size requirements on the packaging. Heated gear needs to be SNUG point blank!

I use a thermal base layer, the M12 hoodie, and then an insulated duck canvas hooded jacket when working outdoors.

YES!!! This is why heated jackets don’t make sense. If you’re layering up for serious cold you need a heated VEST that heats inside of the insulation.
I wear an undershirt, thin hoodie, sweater, then an M12 Axis vest under an Axis Jacket. The jacket never has a battery in it, only the vest does. Also, the vest is a M and the jacket is a L. The M vest fits snug and doesn’t restrict arm movement.
I need a L jacket because these M12 jackets always have arms that are TOO SHORT. I could wear a M if the arms were 2-3” longer.
The Toughshell jackets are too stiff and restrictive, and even the L doesn’t have enough room in the arms for layering… I can’t bend my elbows with a thin base layer and a sweater underneath.
Milwaukee needs to design these for FIT PEOPLE who move and work, not for overweight supervisors who drink coffee for a living.

I have the heated tough shell and the hoodie perfect combo for me because it allows me to keep it on the lower heat settings with the combination of the two.

I live in Canada where it regularly gets down to -40C/-40F and I've never once felt the need for heated gear.
Even at those Temps with a regular winter jacket and a decent hoody you're sweating doing any kind of activity. Even if you're planning on sitting around stationary, a real good down jacket does the trick.

Heated seats don’t warm your car. They warm you when you touch it.

Heated vests are the way to go. All the heated jackets and hoodies are a waste of energy.
