It's a pity the phone App isn't compatible with Android Auto or Apple Car play as the temperature could then be controlled while riding a bike with Android Auto such as the Honda Africa Twin or the NT1100 and save the hassle of pulling over to change the settings on the phone.
Excellent video, thank you! I bought the heated jacket + pants + socks and used the kit through 3 winter trips last year. I can't wait to use the gear again this winter! I will say that the setup got a bit too hot way too fast so I would recommend ramping up the heat as needed instead of going full out and then taking the heat down later. My heated Five gloves work really well and I have a couple of sets of batteries so I'm not buying the Macna heated gloves yet but, I will at some point as the batteries are bulky in the Five gloves at the best of times. One thing that I have not got to work for me is when I get back on my bike after a break I have to individually turn every single item on manually and that is frustrating. The iPhone app won't pick up the gear immediately when its plugged in. Weird. Not a reason not to buy the kit, it's just a bit annoying. So the trips I've done with the heated Macna gear on has ranged from -15 to 5 degrees and i didn't have to use full power until the temperatures were dipping below -5 degrees Centigrade. I can honestly say I highly recommend the kit, through 3500km worth of icy riding it made my life SO much better! Oh yeah, but the wiring loom to connect direct to your bike's battery. The BMW power sockets only provide 5 Amps and you will blow the fuse.
Hi guys is the ASCENT jacket more bulky than the CENTRE? im looking for good balance between bulky and heated, is the centre more balanced? is wind proof? can you have two 12v battery connections for wife jacket also?
Im just wandering how do you connect the macna gillet yo the 2.0 gloves? The jacket has wires at the end of the sleeves to connect to the gloves? But how do you connect the gillet? Sorry i may have asked this q on another video.
So should this be worn on outside or inside or outside of my current Knox Honister Armoured jacket or is meant to be used as a heating jacket inside a winter textile type jacket?
Hi Tim - can you tell if the Centre jacket has heating elements in the collar? Also if I've followed what you said in your video, using the Bluetooth app is optional so if you prefer (or if you have a problem with your phone you can control the jacket ie on/off and heat level from the button on the jacket or any of the other garments, so you can select different heat settings for different garments using the buttons if you needed to? How long is the warranty? Thanks Mike
The jacket is good and heating enough. But why a bluetooth app?? I really don't get why they make it more difficult, especially with gloves on. Now you have to have your phone standby. Why not just the simple lip on the cable at your upper leg, as it used to work. Easy to reach, easy to operate en cheaper. I'm gonna sell my Macna jack, got tired of unlocking my phone (wilst riding) and change settings.
So do I HAVE TO connect them to the app or CAN I? Because I think I cannot connect them to the phone. There are some other connections working on my phone like my Sena and the GPS, and it would not manage 4 more connections for two gloves and jacket and trousers. And tbh it would be totally fine for me just to push some soft buttons for the settings.
@@SMHH i have the socks and a pair of older macna foton gloves, they have bluetooth, and the buttons work. socks are a very very small fit, but work great, have been in the washer no problem, one glove i accidentally tipped the cable loose, and the waterproofing is screwed on the right hand, they also feel super heavy when wet. but other than that great, and the heating kinda dries them, i sometimes wish the thumbs had more heat.
So there is no remote, like Warm & Safe or Gerbing do? If you want to change the temperature, do you have to pull over, open the outer jacket, press the button on the Macna, or pull over, remove your gloves, and fiddle with the app?

Currently have Centre Jacket, Era RTX Gloves and Cloud Gillet My gloves alternate switching off once connected, ie one glove will stay on. My set up is linked direct to battery, The jacket works perfect, but as soon as I link the jacket, the problems occur. I have since just bought the cabling for for gloves, still same issue. Have ordered another pair of gloves to see if the gloves are at fault, if not it would suggest there is an issue with the MACNA power cord from battery. Considering using the CAN BUS power as I have a BMW, but heard that this also sometimes switches off as it blows a fuse? Contacted MACNA directly and they have been pretty poor in trying to resolve
@@Phoenix_1972 very, made in Oregon, just down the highway from me where there's no sales tax, so at least I'll get 10% off, but it is hella pricey indeed. I've seen a few videos that have almost convinced me that they are worth the "investment".
Heated gear really is great. Heated grips are a joke in comparison. I’ve got Macna Electron gloves…leak like a sieve. That Macna Center jacket is really nice though. I hardly ever turn it on in the winter as it is very warm by itself. I even wear it as a casual jacket in the summer. Nice and warm in the evenings, even without a battery.

Fantastic not having to choose between only either a battery or direct bike power connection. A real convenience that.

I am size 44 eu shoes. Can barely squeeze the socks on. and they will barely go halfway up my shins. as they are narrow all the way.

Hello !
Does the Ascent down jacket go under your belsatff jacket without need to size up ? :)
I'd be interested in the jacket if I lived in England in winter, which thankfully I don't. At 110 GBP, it's cheap. Nick J
