      @@ghostrot she is completely calm unless you get to close. I can open the enclosure and she only moves slightly with the floppy legs, but get within 4 inches of her space and she’s ready to fight haha she’s my no touchy T

    My T vagans molted a few days ago and is beautiful! Love the black and red contrast. One of my favorite Ts for sure. Great video thanks!

      It is molting season. They are lovely. I hope the juvenile female in the video molts soon I think she’ll get her colors this time around. 🤓👍🏼

    This was great. I ordered a few Ts.. like 20… to save on shipping. There as a sell out of some of the Ts so he added.. wait for it.. 8 T Vagans… as a sorry.. 🫠. They are still slings hiding away but all doing well. Having said they he’s just shipped the ones I ordered originally and I should have them tomorrow 🙌. Still a stunning spider. I’m glad ur on holidays now. I enjoy ur recordings.

      Wow! Eight of them! Well they are cool. Maybe you can introduce some friends to the world of tarantula keeping if you find you have too many. That’s what I do. 😂

      @@TarantulaHaven that’s exactly my plan. Especially when they see how beautiful T are. Not all spiders r brown or black. It’s also nice to be able ti chat with others about my hobby. Small steps then soon closer friends.

    I have a T vagans named Alani that I got as a freebie at a pet fair! I adore her! Unlike most mine is very calm and walks right up to me when I open her cage. Such a cool animal!

    Love your vids! I have had a bold jumping spider for a few weeks now and now starting to consider a tarantula! Used to be terrified but now I find them so fascinating!!

    Your pronunciation it's very well my friend. A lot of mexicans, including me, have problems with that kind of names 😆😆 so, I know, the Nahuatl it's very hard 😆😆😆 but you done very well 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

    I love mine I named her Selene fr movie underworld. It fits her she’s gorgeous feisty and stills the show when feeding. They are very underrated.

    Glad u done a show case on the t vagens I think they are amazing,I have a juvi female a grown on sling who has now got those beautiful colours,and I had a third which molted out Male and he lived for 3 years after maturing so they hold a special place in my heart.

      That’s awesome! That’s pretty cool your male lived that much longer after maturity. Those Brachypelma & Tliltocatl species are pretty long lived. 🤓👍🏼

    Went to reptile show a few years ago and ended up buying a few t's from one vendor. They ended up throwing in two of these. Both ended up being females. Both more agro then my obt lmao 🤣 😂 😆

    I agree they are so underrated! I got a teeny sling last Thursday as a freebie when I bought my boehmei, they remind me of the pulchra but with a red booty. Love your channel and all the amazing information you provide😊

    I have had mine for about a month now. Good looking spider, and mine is usually out most of the time. And he/she? stays very calm when opening the enclosure for feeding.

    I agree, they are a beautiful T, not seen my, i guess, sub adult, for about 9 months, I can see it, but it don't spend alot of time in the open, prefers it burrow.

    Can I ask why you didn't give it a hide? I mean I know they stay out a lot, but would it go to a hide when you open the top, at least for a second? Or does it not care about you opening the top and moving the enclosure?

    I recently got a Tliltocatl Vagans as my second T and its about 2-2.5 inches has its velvet colors already but it made a burrow and sealed it off but doesnt seem to be in pre molt should open the entrance to feed it? Or wait till it leaves its burrow?

    My Tlitocatl vagans matured out male and has since passed on, but I replaced it with a Tlitocal epicureanus which is not much different from the vagans

      Nope they are almost identical. I’ve just had a T. epicureanus mature male. He’s beautiful.

    I really enjoy mine. It was that adult Amanda had. She/He never hides, always out in the open. Great eater! Needs a new house though.

      @@WesselWinter good question. No, the Mexican Black Velvet is a close cousin. Same genus, different species Tliltocatl schroederi.

    Thanks for this! I got a sling, and I didn't see it for 6 months! But now it has molted once (or twice) and occasionally hangs out where I can see it.
    Also, I am pretty sure I could never pronounce "Tlitocatl" the proper way... or even a number of the wrong ways : )

    I heard to be part of the tarantula community you must either be bitten once on the neck or four times on the buttcheeks. Which way do most people go? I was thinking neck would be more frightening but I want to be able to sit down at work.

    Ive never heard anything so ridiculous other than changing Elaphe,the ratsnake genus everyone has known for decades to Pantherophis. Elaphe was good enough for Ray Ditmars Carl Kauffield,Roger Conant,Karl Schmidt,and Bill Haast and its good enough for me.
    Alex,here is how I pronounce Tlitocotl........"Brachypelma".

    None of the scientific names are easy to pronounce nor remember; for me. I go by the common name. Much easier to pronounce and easier to specify.
