Hi, i have a few Questions. How did you clear the front of the oil pan when you put the m117 in? How much clearance to the firewall? What sort of exhaust manifolds did you use? R107's ?And what sort of aclerator linkage? did you use a cable or connect tro the original type? Cheers!.
I have an 83 turbodiesel diff just due to final drive ratio. holding up fine so far amazingly. I had a bunch of sets of stainless exhaust flanges laser cut if you need to buy a set for your project. no one makes any flanges for headers on these, and you can't re use the cast iron pieces unfortunately (oh, and no factory manifolds even come close to fitting).
+Penta pre 99 the engines are ok. all after that suffer major timing guide and vanos issues. beyond that, all 540s run ball steering boxes. all 525, 528, 530 run racks and aluminum front subframes. the e39s to have: 530i sport manual M5
MplsBav That's interesting, didn't know that actually. But then again i have limited experience with them. My dad had a 2001 540i with like 220k kms and that one ran strong and never had any major engine problems. Thank's for the info though!

it's a 1989 Mercedes 5.5 liter all alloy SOHC V8 on Megasquirt with a LOT of de-restriction.

OHV stuff might fit better. the OHC engines just dont fit for shit.
