RUclips recommended your video to me (first time I have watched your channel) and it was such a beautiful experience from start to finish. The love you both have between father and son, and it's very clear to see that your workforce are a 'family' as well. The MB 450SEL is one of my most favourite cars, I'm not sure if it is the 6.9 version, as that is my ultimate dream car to own some day :) When I get mine, and I need it restoring, I'll be giving you guys a call :) PS - fantastic work by the videographer and the choice of music was perfect as well. I give you all 15 out of 10!!!
Restorations to this level are actually much more work than the original car production where parts are picked & fitted. Restorations require all the parts removed, cleaned, repaired, repainted, reupholstered, rewired, replaced then refitted. It’s a labour of love.
If I won the lottery, I would not go on a crazy holiday, would not buy fancy clothes or gadgets, or buy an obscene mansion. I would buy a classic car (most likely a Mercedes Benz R129 SL600) and send it Alcala Technology to lovingly restore no expense spared. That was absolutely stunning to watch, you’ve essential made that car like “new”. You are preserving history. Well done!
Dear Alcala friends, as a 70+ years old German who now lives in the USA this video makes me happy & proud as I drove this car around in 1970's Berlin, Germany and all over Europe as a young entrepreneur. I remember seeing a 350SE in the shpwroom for the 1st time as a young boy. It was metallic bronze and the price was $15000. I wished I could buy it for my father who had a much older Benz at the time. Both the restoration and the video was excellent. It was only that good because you and the your team are obviously very proud your work.Your father is so proud of you❤. May this channel inspire other to follow what they are passionate about. I love watching restoring/resurrecting videos of cars and this is the only one yet which i have not jumped or forwarded even once ( enjoyed every moment of 36 minutes). 👍
I wish my Volvo 780 Bertone could look like this. There are things that are best left to the professionals like the leather job and paint job. I could restore the engine to factory spec again and all the mechanical parts, paint the undercoating, and fix the rust, but the paint and leather is very difficult. What an amazing job.
Thank you Arthur! Do not hesitate to send us an email to technology@alcala.cat with your project and we will be in touch with you the soonest possible.
I have one of those 1988 780 Bertone and it is a wonderful car Actually it is being restored right now in Kuwait and should be ready in a month or so. Parts for it are extremely rare and cost an arm and a leg. Can't wait to drive it around once it is finished
Not only is your renovation/rehabilitation/restoration methodology and process outcome literally a work of art, but so is your visual representation of the meticulous E2E process…👏
I think what struck me the most is that although it's an old car (maybe 1979,1980?), the cleanliness of your workshop - not just clean, GLEAMING - and the quiet, efficient, experienced, technicians with all the right tools and equipment and a lot of know how - plus quite evidently a SUPER well organised plan/process - not to mention the movie level quality of videography and editing - gave the whole thing an almost surreal feel of a team of surgeons operating on a magnificent old beast on the edge of extinction. And that bit by bit, his life signs stabilise until eventually he emerges not just with a new heart and new knees, but also a nose job, tummy tuck, skin peel, hair transplant, eye lift and teeth polished - as well as a full day at the spa being oiled, massaged and moisturised, nose hairs and eyebrows tidied, mani/pedi, shaved (in places where you both can - and can't - see!) - and sent out into the world with a clean bill of health and a haircut, new suit, shoes, spectacles and watch😂❤
@@sprezzatura8755 I always feel like Salieri compared to Mozart - cursed with knowing what to do but not the means to implement it🤗 Anyway, anyone with the art of looking "put together" - but not too tidily, as if effortlessly - in your handle might seem not to need it! And one wonders who the other 8754 people with that quality are - there may not even be that many on the planet!🇮🇹😎
You guys are the ultimate car restorers. You really know your stuff and you do it right. How much does such a restoration cost and how long does it take?
At last on RUclips, people who really know what they are doing, instead of jumped up car washers claiming their expensive shampoo and polish is a ‘restoration’!
For your knowledge, sandblasting is removing/deforming the surface of the part that you are restoring, and giving a really ugly shape to the metal. Of course, for those who want to earn money for it and make it quick, paint on tom and maybe noone will know the status of it, is correct. NOT for us. Thank you 🤝🏼
@@alcalatechnology I was not talking about doors and bonnets, there it's surely not the right procedure. But for suspension parts or for example the brake disc back covers that doesn't really matter. And there, if you're just brushing them, you still have small rust nests in small cavities which are not being removed and lead to new rust pretty soon. From my experience...
I’m amazed by your ability to restore this car to a level that equals or arguably surpasses how the car was when it rolled off the assembly line. Many of the w116 chassis parts are no longer available, so you are actually reproducing the quality and craftsmanship that would otherwise get lost to time. Great video!
I thought about the newer cars, and then I thought about my W210 with 428k km on it - I would love to do a restoration on it similar to this. Very very interesting and satisfying to watch. They do not make these cars like that any more. W124 and W126 were the last of this era. W116 is an extra treat to see in this condition - and of all places, coming from and going back to Macau. Thank you for this presentation.
Truly fantastic. The entire restoration blew me away, but the way you were able to recreate the classic Mercedes upholstery was truly amazing. You have a got a new subscriber and I will be looking forward to more. Cheers!

Great to see the Alcala team performing such impressive work on this icon of Mercedes engineering. Regards from Los Angeles.
I’m telling you, fantastic job. I had a 75 (I think) 250c back in the mid 80’s when I was in Germany. I loved that car even though it was a little tough. To see you bring this back is just awesome. Great job!
What can one say? I was blown away by this Magnificent transformation! Awesome workmanship, your guys are truly an amazing asset to this craft!!! If only there were more of you restoring all the wonderful cars that are rusting away. I’m looking forward to the next one. Thank You
My uncle used to let me drive his 450 SEL 6.9 Mercedes when it was almost brand new back in the 70s. That one was a right hand drive also. Watching this brought back so many memories for me. I used to compare putting your foot down in this car to take off in a jet airliner! What you can achieve is truly amazing and the passion you do it with is truly a credit to you, your father and your team.
Thankyou for replying. I might add that the fastest my uncle and I drove in his car was 280kph, before our nerves gave out. Not because of the car - it was rock steady, and I'm sure able to get to at least 300kph. The thing is this was in central Australia, on narrow roads with kangaroos and cattle able to wander onto the road. It's amazing how much more narrow a road looks at 280kph! Still, at least we were not in danger of getting a speeding ticket in this part of Australia, as there was NO speed limit on outback roads in those days! Just like your fancy autopistas, hey? I'd love to come to Spain one day and meet great people like you guys. Cheers from Australia.
Despite all the immaculate work what brought joy to my heart was the fact you replaced the new wheels to the original ones. When I am 65 I will come to your garage so you can make me 19 again! Congratulations on a superb job :)

An incredible and stunning restoration of such a great car. And this video is so great to watch - you guys are wonderful! I had one when I was in my late 20's a dark walnut brown 1980 450SEL. Seeing this restoration reminds me of how the 450SEL was and is such a truly remarkable car!!
It was my father's car in the second half of seventies and I drove it many times. One of the best cars ever, for sure. It was like a panzer tank, it saved my life in a catastrophic crash. Although completely destroyed, it was repaired and was still in circulation many years later. Luxury and technology were at the highest level for the time. The engine was amazing, extremely powerful and not too thirsty.
You're doing amazing job. It would be cool to see extra acoustic/noise treatment to your projects (cabin, roof, doors, floor..) and sound (multimedia) system upgrades 👍
Great video, brilliant work, I especially loved the interior getting done top work. Only one mistake guys, you should have videoed the first start up after the engine rebuild. Anyway hello from Ireland 🇮🇪 ☘️🇪🇸❤
This brought back lot of memories. I used to work at Mercedes dealership body repair shop. One of my jobs was to take vehicles a part and assemble them. These old Benzes are very easy to work. My dad worked all his life fixing Mercedes alone. Excellent episode.
This is incredible ! Never really been a Mercedes fan but this car i can appreciate, I'd own this in a heartbeat. The workmanship is unlike anything I've seen before, truly stunning. The colour exterior/interior combination is perfect. Would have loved to have seen a small video of the owner receiving it and his reaction. I think I'd cry if it was me lol. Well done on a fantastic restoration.
Is that Petrol Blue Metallic on that car? I swear that's the prettiest color Mercedes ever put on their cars. Stupendous project and gorgeous end product

Germany is currently being politically destroyed. You have revived a piece of German engineering that will no longer exist. This beautiful Mercedes will serve its owner well for many years to come. Thank you for the excellent professional work. Warm greetings from Germany.
That was a fantastic restoration. I still have a 1991 Mercedes 300 SE that was my daily driver back in the '90's. I let it sit for 17 years but recently got it running good again. It looks really good, but after watching this.....I want to restore it perfectly...lol. Great job guys!
*New Subscriber* : This was great : a project from start to finish; nice to see an engine rebuild and taking the time to film the block levelling (no other channel does that); nice to see actual metalwork being done (more of that please !); and then the full re assembly is very satisfying to watch. You have a great, spacious, well lit garage and that makes it enjoyable to watch. *Shout out* to your video/ editing team. They really did produce a cinematic result ( nice to see good lighting as so many rival channels never think to use good lighting ). It has a Macau's Portuguese era taxi permit plate with only one "M", so it was a taxi/hotel car service, ohh and the Alfa....lovely and Portuguese tags too. Awesome video, great work.
Magnificent job. Magnificent model of Mercedes-Benz. Your mechanics and technicians should work for NASA! I think that's the most impressive restoration/renewal I have ever seen. Thanks...
That Benz looks AWESOME. It is enough to make a grown man cry.
😍😍
Please come restore my Alfa Romeo! I love the 450s series of that Era ! Can't wait for the Alfa! Beautiful work, amazing!

An incredible and stunning restoration of such a great car. And this video is so great to watch - you guys are wonderful! I had one when I was in my late 20's a dark walnut brown 1980 450SEL. Seeing this restoration reminds me of how the 450SEL was and is such a truly remarkable car!!
Thank you! 🙏
Huge respect to you all for reviving this iconic gem❤❤💎
Many thanks!
Impresionante trabajo e impresionante vídeo.
Enhorabuena.
Magnifique, dommage que ce soit une conduite à droite mais à part cela, SIMPLEMENT MAGNIFIQUE.
Mérci BCP!
Gran trabajo, gusta ver que haya profesionales tan buenos por nuestra zona de Girona 🙌
¡Hola! Tengo exactamente el mismo coche en Málaga. Algún día os llamaré, ¡vaya trabajado!
Yes! True words! Thanks for watching!
You're doing amazing job. It would be cool to see extra acoustic/noise treatment to your projects (cabin, roof, doors, floor..) and sound (multimedia) system upgrades 👍
Absolutely professional 👍You give a new life to an classic mercedes-benz. Really looking forward to start the engine!
Thank you for watching us!
This car has a major factory defect, the steering wheel is on the wrong side.
😂😂😂💥
Not for Ireland 😊
Honestly the best restoration video of a classic car ever. You guys nailed it. Fantastic!
Thank you! 🙏🏻
Great video, brilliant work, I especially loved the interior getting done top work. Only one mistake guys, you should have videoed the first start up after the engine rebuild. Anyway hello from Ireland 🇮🇪 ☘️🇪🇸❤
Great jop were is youer Adrese and location please
This brought back lot of memories. I used to work at Mercedes dealership body repair shop. One of my jobs was to take vehicles a part and assemble them. These old Benzes are very easy to work. My dad worked all his life fixing Mercedes alone. Excellent episode.
Thanks for watching us! And for your comment!
You have accomplished the near impossible. I don't think even the Merz factory could do this.
Keep the dreams alive! Bravo!
Is that Petrol Blue Metallic on that car? I swear that's the prettiest color Mercedes ever put on their cars. Stupendous project and gorgeous end product
Yes! Amazing color! Thanks for watching!
Was that an original Mercedes color? Looked like Porsche Petrol Blue. No matter, it looks fantastic!
Nice work. How much did this restoration? To this car please
Every project has a different cost, as the car status can vary, and the amount of parts to be changed also, if you want to have a budget for any project, send us an email with the details of the car and some pictures and we will be glad to do it. "Technology@alcala.cat". Thanks for watching us!
This absolutely stunning and incredible. The restoration of this awesome 450SEL and also the videowork. Never seen this before like this.
Germany is currently being politically destroyed. You have revived a piece of German engineering that will no longer exist. This beautiful Mercedes will serve its owner well for many years to come. Thank you for the excellent professional work. Warm greetings from Germany.
Thank you very much for watching us and enjoy or work as much as we do! 🫡
That was a fantastic restoration. I still have a 1991 Mercedes 300 SE that was my daily driver back in the '90's. I let it sit for 17 years but recently got it running good again. It looks really good, but after watching this.....I want to restore it perfectly...lol. Great job guys!
Absolutely insanely good!!! Love your work!
A World class restoration of a beautiful Mercedes Benz.
Alcala ...... Very catchy name
🫡😎
You are some serious artists. Wow, sharp crew.

Thank you for your words, and thanks for your follow, we have a lot of stuff to show every Wednesday! Hope you enjoy as much as we do!
And the music was perfect to convey a sense of urgency, progress, and your team's energy. You will have 100,000 subscribers in no time, and many more after that ! The MB W116 is my favourite make/ model. One day I will have one. Greetings from prague, CZ. Looking forward to more of your content. A big well done to your team !
Jamás había visto una restauración de este tipo. Verdaderamente lo mejor que he visto. Volvió a salir de la agencia con 0 kms ese auto. Precioso y fantástico 😍😍😍😍
Qué envidia ser el dueño de ese auto.
Muchas gracias 😊
As a classic car enthusiast, this restoration project was super satisfying!!
Thank you! 🙏🏻Thank you for your words, and thanks for your follow, we have a lot of stuff to show every Wednesday! Hope you enjoy as much as we do!
What a job! Amazing from start to finish. It is refreshing to see such workmanship.
