You have no idea how insane it feels as a New Zealander to consider that out of all the fire deities in the world, Hoyo (presumably) decided to take inspiration from Māori culture for the pyro archon. I'm not Māori myself, but I grew up with the story of Māui taking the flaming fingernails of Mahuika and many more stories from Māori mythology. Its so uncommon for it to be referenced outside New Zealand so this will really mean the world to me if it turns out to be correct.
As a fellow kiwi, its very surreal to see a character inspired by Māori myths, let alone the freaking pyro Archon. I feel obligated to pull

@@legoland7723 He’s wearing something nearly identical to the Winter Night’s Lazzo coat in this video (I can’t tell if it’s white here), and you can see more turquoise coattails underneath, so it’s probable he will look different, especially since those coats are very big, and wouldn’t fit combat. Still I trust the drip to be top tier underneath.

When the trailer came out, I started researching the names given in the trailer on what they would reference, and it looks like its mostly Central American (Maya, Aztec), Native American, Yoruba (Africa), Inca & Polynesian. So There the references I found in a surface level research:
It’s also important to note that a core theme in Aztec mythology is the recreation of the world. They believed that the world we are living in right now is not the first one, and there were 4 other ones before, each ending in great catastrophe (one included raining jaguars, which is cool) and the fifth current one will be burned to ashes.
Mualani:
Vision: Hydro
Mualani was a Hawaiian High Chiefess who lived on the island of Oahu and was a Princess of Koʻolau. Princess Mualani was of Tahitian ancestry as a descendant of the wizard Maweke who came to Oahu from Tahiti.
Kachina:
Vision: Geo
A kachina is a spirit being in the religious beliefs of the Pueblo people, Native American cultures located in the south-western part of the United States. The kachina concept has three different aspects: the supernatural being, the kachina dancers, and kachina dolls. Kachinas are spirits or personifications of things in the real world. A kachina can represent anything in the natural world or cosmos, from a revered ancestor to an element, a location, a quality, a natural phenomenon, or a concept; there may be kachinas for the sun, stars, thunderstorms, wind, corn, insects, as well as many other concepts.
Kinich:

Kinich Ahau is the 16th-century Yucatec name of the Maya sun god, designated as God G when referring to the codices. The element kʼinich, usually assumed to mean 'sun-eyed'. Kinich Ahau was the patron of one of the four years of the 52-year cycle (Landa). In the rituals introducing this year, war dances were executed. Compared to the deities connected to agricultural fertility, however, God G occurs rather infrequently, and is rarely part of narrative events. It may be noted that the Hero Twins, Hunahpu and Xbalanque, although stated to have changed into Sun and Moon, are never shown assimilated to God G. He has a brother named Chaak, the rain god.
Ajaw
Ajaw or Ahau ('Lord') is a pre-Columbian Maya political title attested from epigraphic inscriptions. It is also the name of the 20th day of the tzolkʼin, the Maya divinatory calendar. It was not limited to a single individual, with a meaning variously rendered as "leader", "ruler", "lord", "king", or "queen", depending on the individual.
Citlali
Vision: Cryo
Citlālicue ("star garment"), was a creator goddess in Aztec mythology.
She created the stars with her husband Citlalatonac, the Milky Way, Earth, death, and darkness.
In Aztec mythology, stars were regarded as celestial beings with profound importance. The name Citlali was chosen to honor these celestial entities and bestow their divine essence upon individuals.
Xilonen
Vision: Geo
In Aztec mythology, Chicōmecōātl (Chi-co-me-coatl) "Seven Serpent", was the Aztec goddess of agriculture. She is sometimes called "goddess of nourishment", a goddess of plenty and the female aspect of maize. She is regarded as the female counterpart of the maize god Centeōtl, their symbol being an ear of corn. She is occasionally called Xilonen, (meaning doll made of corn), who was married also to Tezcatlipoca (was a central deity in Aztec religion. He is associated with a variety of concepts, including the night sky, hurricanes, obsidian, and conflict.) Chicomecōātl's name, "Seven Serpent", is thought to be a reference to the duality of the deity. While she symbolizes the gathering of maize and agricultural prosperity, she also is thought to be harmful to the Aztecs, as she was thought to be of blame during years of poor harvest.
Iansan
Vision: Not seen
Ọya (also known as Iansá) is an Orisha (Gods of the Yoruba tribe in Africa) of winds, lightning, and violent storms. In Yorùbá, the name Ọya is believed to derive from the phrase coined from "ọ ya" which means "she tore," referring to her association with powerful winds. She is often depicted as a buffalo in traditional poetry, and was believed to have the power to shape-shift into a buffalo. She is known as Ọya Ìyáńsàn-án, the "mother of nine", because of nine children she gave birth to with her third husband Oko. Oya was traditionally worshipped in only the areas of Yorubaland once under the control and influence Oyo empire. Because of the Atlantic slave trade, many of her followers of Oyo origin were kidnapped and sold to the new world, where her worship became widespread.
Chasca
Vision: Cryo
She is interesting because there could be two origins
1: Ch'aska (Morning star; a.k.a. Ch'aska Quyllur) was the goddess of dawn, the twilight and dusk, as well as the goddess of beauty, virgin women and the flowers in Inca mythology. She was considered as the "Venus star" due to her luminosity equated to Venus, which is, after the Sun and the Moon, the brightest celestial object in the night sky.
2: Chasca, also known as "la virgen del agua" (The virgin of the water), is the name of a fictional character in Salvadoran folklore.
According to oral tradition, in the barra de Santiago lived a man named Pachacutec, who arranged a marriage between his daughter, Chasca, and a prince of the zutuhil tribe.
Chasca, however, was already in love with a young fisher named Acayatl. She would sneak away from her father to the beach where Acayatl would serenade her.
One horrible day, someone shot an arrow at Acayatl while he returned from fishing. The assassin was sent by Pachacutec. Chasca saw the murder and decided to join her lover in death. She tied a rock around her waist and threw herself into the water.
The following night of a full moon, the spirit of Chasca appeared for the first time in a white canoe next to Acayatl, from this time, she has continued to appear in this way. Whenever the fishermen notice a full moon, they do not go out to fish because they wish to respect and not disturb the virgin of the water and her lover, who in return for that respect, bless the fishermen with bountiful fish.
Mavuika
Most likely the Pyro Archon
Mahuika is a Māori fire deity. Generally, Mahuika is female and wife of the god Auahitūroa (Māori deity of comets). In some versions, she is the younger sister of Hine-nui-te-pō, goddess of death. It was from her that Māui (in some versions he is her grandson) obtained the secret of making fire. In some parts of New Zealand, Mahuika is a male deity. Mahu-ika is the fire god who lives in the underworld in addition to being the grandfather of Maui. Maui wrestled him in order to win the secret of making fire.
Ororon
Vision: Unseen
In the Chinese text he is called Olorun.
Olorun is the ruler of (or in) the Heavens in the Yoruba religion. The Supreme Deity or Supreme Being in the Yoruba pantheon, Olorun is also called Olodumare. In Yoruba culture, Ọlọrun is credited with creating the universe and all living things. Ọlọrun is frequently perceived as a compassionate entity who protects its creations and is thought to be omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent. Humans do not worship Olorun directly; there are no sacred areas of worship, no iconography, nor ordained person. There are no shrines or sacrifices dedicated directly to them, although followers can send prayers in their direction.
and Capitano: He needs no introduction. But we see no delusion/vision.

it’s such a pity that they took inspiration from all these cultures but won’t properly represent them. it feels like such a slap in the face to have characters like ororun be based on yoruba culture but then be white. it would be so easy for them to just design darker characters and them not doing it doesn’t even make sense from a monetary perspective. if a character is strong or featured in the story people will want to pull them regardless of if they have darker skin.

Hear me out this is a big brain lore theory.
This version of the pyro archon we see will die and be resurrected into her younger self. Natlan 2 major themes is resurrection and the "war" the war is mainly like a tournament possibly to the death for the gnosis. Let alone she is a phoenix and its wild how in the lava walker set lore there was a phoenix at that time by the mare javari. I would not be suprised if she was the final challenger for capitano for the gnosis and capitano completely destroys her, takes the gnosis but later on in the story she comes back from the ashes like a phoenix.
We didn't see the pyro dragon and other characters cause they won't be revealed until later on majority if not all these characters gonna be 5.0-5.4.
Edit: I just thought of maybe xbalanque being the one that gets resurrected too. Pyro archon dies but pyro dragon comes back and has their full authority back like nuvei. Orrrrrrr they both come back but pyro archon goes under a new name but pyro dragon basically comesback full powered. Hmmm a lot of ways this can go

I’ll add my crackpot theory to this since we seem to be on the same lines:
I think the ‘did you catch all that’ was for the purpose of resurrection. Maybe you keep all your memories of battles when resurrected as well? So the archon could have been talking to the primal fire. I think the ashes in the Mare Javari are actually Natlanians ready for resurrection. Memories and all. But if a Natlanian dies anywhere else, it’s a true death. No resurrection. Could explain why we haven’t seen NPCs. Maybe the Mare Javari is actually the ashes of Natlanians waiting to be resurrected which would make it sacred

There is one thing tho, Dainsleif as well as Murata now mentions "ashes" specific I have heard this line so many times now and I still don't really understand what it means, but I think it's connected to the art of Khemia that was performed in Khaenri'ah by Rhinedottir.
There are some that regard us as dregs but I still say we humans have our humanity. It's possible that what makes humans humans have been taken away in Genshin.

Key thing that makes me sus of her is that she doesn’t share any of Himeko’s VAs, which Genshin has been very careful to get back the VAs of their Honkai counterparts. Could there be a chance she’s the Dragon Sovereign of Fire? I wonder what the story has in store for us…

She's Pyro Archon but doesn't necessarily mean she will be Himeko's expy. For all we know, she might be the Pyro Dragon Sovereign herself lol. You can see in the trailer that they are obviously keeping the plot as vague as possible. Knowing hoyoverse, it's always more than what we expected.

@@NewWave3313 it IS called the "ode of ressurection" chapter so she could be at the end be ressurecting the dragon sovereign or previous pyro archon which could be Murata but thats just a theory and while i know a lot of people want an himeko expy it could just not happen, we didnt get a Seele expy yet either

What’s interesting is technically speaking, Pyro mommy who is probably the archon isn’t a Himeko expy because from my understanding non of the VAs in any language are Himeko VAs in HI3rd or HSR. Which probably means that Himeko was the previous archon and she’s already dead. I think in one of the Mangas for HI3rd Welt says HSR Himeko is the only one left alive or sth (I can’t remember) so that makes sense.

VAs aren’t the end all be all of an expy (case in point, Otto’s JP va does Ayato but he’s definitely not Otto’s expy). Also Himeko’s JP va already voices someone in Genshin so maybe they didn’t want to double up on using her. They’ve also not gonna out of their way to be consistent with the English va (presumably because it’s a different casting studio I believe?).
