You have no idea how insane it feels as a New Zealander to consider that out of all the fire deities in the world, Hoyo (presumably) decided to take inspiration from Māori culture for the pyro archon. I'm not Māori myself, but I grew up with the story of Māui taking the flaming fingernails of Mahuika and many more stories from Māori mythology. Its so uncommon for it to be referenced outside New Zealand so this will really mean the world to me if it turns out to be correct.
@@Rydahhhhhh wouldn't it be sick if one of the rituals that natlan people do is inspired by the haka? i'm aussie tho seen plenty of rugby games to know haha and also hoping to see the rainbow serpent mentioned somewhere
Hey Arnold! When the trailer came out, I started researching the names given in the trailer on what they would reference, and it looks like its mostly Central American (Maya, Aztec), Native American, Yoruba (Africa), Inca & Polynesian. So There the references I found in a surface level research: It’s also important to note that a core theme in Aztec mythology is the recreation of the world. They believed that the world we are living in right now is not the first one, and there were 4 other ones before, each ending in great catastrophe (one included raining jaguars, which is cool) and the fifth current one will be burned to ashes. Mualani: Vision: Hydro Mualani was a Hawaiian High Chiefess who lived on the island of Oahu and was a Princess of Koʻolau. Princess Mualani was of Tahitian ancestry as a descendant of the wizard Maweke who came to Oahu from Tahiti. Kachina: Vision: Geo A kachina is a spirit being in the religious beliefs of the Pueblo people, Native American cultures located in the south-western part of the United States. The kachina concept has three different aspects: the supernatural being, the kachina dancers, and kachina dolls. Kachinas are spirits or personifications of things in the real world. A kachina can represent anything in the natural world or cosmos, from a revered ancestor to an element, a location, a quality, a natural phenomenon, or a concept; there may be kachinas for the sun, stars, thunderstorms, wind, corn, insects, as well as many other concepts. Kinich: Vision: Dendro Kinich Ahau is the 16th-century Yucatec name of the Maya sun god, designated as God G when referring to the codices. The element kʼinich, usually assumed to mean 'sun-eyed'. Kinich Ahau was the patron of one of the four years of the 52-year cycle (Landa). In the rituals introducing this year, war dances were executed. Compared to the deities connected to agricultural fertility, however, God G occurs rather infrequently, and is rarely part of narrative events. It may be noted that the Hero Twins, Hunahpu and Xbalanque, although stated to have changed into Sun and Moon, are never shown assimilated to God G. He has a brother named Chaak, the rain god. Ajaw Ajaw or Ahau ('Lord') is a pre-Columbian Maya political title attested from epigraphic inscriptions. It is also the name of the 20th day of the tzolkʼin, the Maya divinatory calendar. It was not limited to a single individual, with a meaning variously rendered as "leader", "ruler", "lord", "king", or "queen", depending on the individual. Citlali Vision: Cryo Citlālicue ("star garment"), was a creator goddess in Aztec mythology. She created the stars with her husband Citlalatonac, the Milky Way, Earth, death, and darkness. In Aztec mythology, stars were regarded as celestial beings with profound importance. The name Citlali was chosen to honor these celestial entities and bestow their divine essence upon individuals. Xilonen Vision: Geo In Aztec mythology, Chicōmecōātl (Chi-co-me-coatl) "Seven Serpent", was the Aztec goddess of agriculture. She is sometimes called "goddess of nourishment", a goddess of plenty and the female aspect of maize. She is regarded as the female counterpart of the maize god Centeōtl, their symbol being an ear of corn. She is occasionally called Xilonen, (meaning doll made of corn), who was married also to Tezcatlipoca (was a central deity in Aztec religion. He is associated with a variety of concepts, including the night sky, hurricanes, obsidian, and conflict.) Chicomecōātl's name, "Seven Serpent", is thought to be a reference to the duality of the deity. While she symbolizes the gathering of maize and agricultural prosperity, she also is thought to be harmful to the Aztecs, as she was thought to be of blame during years of poor harvest. Iansan Vision: Not seen Ọya (also known as Iansá) is an Orisha (Gods of the Yoruba tribe in Africa) of winds, lightning, and violent storms. In Yorùbá, the name Ọya is believed to derive from the phrase coined from "ọ ya" which means "she tore," referring to her association with powerful winds. She is often depicted as a buffalo in traditional poetry, and was believed to have the power to shape-shift into a buffalo. She is known as Ọya Ìyáńsàn-án, the "mother of nine", because of nine children she gave birth to with her third husband Oko. Oya was traditionally worshipped in only the areas of Yorubaland once under the control and influence Oyo empire. Because of the Atlantic slave trade, many of her followers of Oyo origin were kidnapped and sold to the new world, where her worship became widespread. Chasca Vision: Cryo She is interesting because there could be two origins 1: Ch'aska (Morning star; a.k.a. Ch'aska Quyllur) was the goddess of dawn, the twilight and dusk, as well as the goddess of beauty, virgin women and the flowers in Inca mythology. She was considered as the "Venus star" due to her luminosity equated to Venus, which is, after the Sun and the Moon, the brightest celestial object in the night sky. 2: Chasca, also known as "la virgen del agua" (The virgin of the water), is the name of a fictional character in Salvadoran folklore. According to oral tradition, in the barra de Santiago lived a man named Pachacutec, who arranged a marriage between his daughter, Chasca, and a prince of the zutuhil tribe. Chasca, however, was already in love with a young fisher named Acayatl. She would sneak away from her father to the beach where Acayatl would serenade her. One horrible day, someone shot an arrow at Acayatl while he returned from fishing. The assassin was sent by Pachacutec. Chasca saw the murder and decided to join her lover in death. She tied a rock around her waist and threw herself into the water. The following night of a full moon, the spirit of Chasca appeared for the first time in a white canoe next to Acayatl, from this time, she has continued to appear in this way. Whenever the fishermen notice a full moon, they do not go out to fish because they wish to respect and not disturb the virgin of the water and her lover, who in return for that respect, bless the fishermen with bountiful fish. Mavuika Most likely the Pyro Archon Mahuika is a Māori fire deity. Generally, Mahuika is female and wife of the god Auahitūroa (Māori deity of comets). In some versions, she is the younger sister of Hine-nui-te-pō, goddess of death. It was from her that Māui (in some versions he is her grandson) obtained the secret of making fire. In some parts of New Zealand, Mahuika is a male deity. Mahu-ika is the fire god who lives in the underworld in addition to being the grandfather of Maui. Maui wrestled him in order to win the secret of making fire. Ororon Vision: Unseen In the Chinese text he is called Olorun. Olorun is the ruler of (or in) the Heavens in the Yoruba religion. The Supreme Deity or Supreme Being in the Yoruba pantheon, Olorun is also called Olodumare. In Yoruba culture, Ọlọrun is credited with creating the universe and all living things. Ọlọrun is frequently perceived as a compassionate entity who protects its creations and is thought to be omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent. Humans do not worship Olorun directly; there are no sacred areas of worship, no iconography, nor ordained person. There are no shrines or sacrifices dedicated directly to them, although followers can send prayers in their direction. and Capitano: He needs no introduction. But we see no delusion/vision. Hear me out this is a big brain lore theory. This version of the pyro archon we see will die and be resurrected into her younger self. Natlan 2 major themes is resurrection and the "war" the war is mainly like a tournament possibly to the death for the gnosis. Let alone she is a phoenix and its wild how in the lava walker set lore there was a phoenix at that time by the mare javari. I would not be suprised if she was the final challenger for capitano for the gnosis and capitano completely destroys her, takes the gnosis but later on in the story she comes back from the ashes like a phoenix. We didn't see the pyro dragon and other characters cause they won't be revealed until later on majority if not all these characters gonna be 5.0-5.4. Edit: I just thought of maybe xbalanque being the one that gets resurrected too. Pyro archon dies but pyro dragon comes back and has their full authority back like nuvei. Orrrrrrr they both come back but pyro archon goes under a new name but pyro dragon basically comesback full powered. Hmmm a lot of ways this can go I could be completely wrong or onto something, I’ll come back in 5.3
I’ll add my crackpot theory to this since we seem to be on the same lines: I think the ‘did you catch all that’ was for the purpose of resurrection. Maybe you keep all your memories of battles when resurrected as well? So the archon could have been talking to the primal fire. I think the ashes in the Mare Javari are actually Natlanians ready for resurrection. Memories and all. But if a Natlanian dies anywhere else, it’s a true death. No resurrection. Could explain why we haven’t seen NPCs. Maybe the Mare Javari is actually the ashes of Natlanians waiting to be resurrected which would make it sacred
@@mikebiddle4070 Not a bad theory at all. There is one thing tho, Dainsleif as well as Murata now mentions "ashes" specific I have heard this line so many times now and I still don't really understand what it means, but I think it's connected to the art of Khemia that was performed in Khaenri'ah by Rhinedottir. There are some that regard us as dregs but I still say we humans have our humanity. It's possible that what makes humans humans have been taken away in Genshin.

I can’t help but wonder myself if this isn’t the “Murata” Pyro Archon we heard about before. Key thing that makes me sus of her is that she doesn’t share any of Himeko’s VAs, which Genshin has been very careful to get back the VAs of their Honkai counterparts. Could there be a chance she’s the Dragon Sovereign of Fire? I wonder what the story has in store for us…
She's Pyro Archon but doesn't necessarily mean she will be Himeko's expy. For all we know, she might be the Pyro Dragon Sovereign herself lol. You can see in the trailer that they are obviously keeping the plot as vague as possible. Knowing hoyoverse, it's always more than what we expected.
@@ManonLcz no I understand that, but I don’t think she’s “Murata”, which was thought to be the “Himeko” Pyro Archon. Maybe Murata was the previous one?
@@NewWave3313 it IS called the "ode of ressurection" chapter so she could be at the end be ressurecting the dragon sovereign or previous pyro archon which could be Murata but thats just a theory and while i know a lot of people want an himeko expy it could just not happen, we didnt get a Seele expy yet either
After Act 2, this trailer doesn't make too much more sense. We have a bit of context for what the scene of the flaming orbs could signify (perhaps relating to the "pilgrimage" Mavuika took in that alternate space), as well as how "fate" relates to Natlan's "rules." But I'm excited to learn more about what Capitano's and Mavuika's plans _really_ mean.

Hmmm a lot of ways this can go
I could be completely wrong or onto something, I’ll come back in 5.3
This could actually be accurate
@@Areullekino Are you supposed to write leaked information on his channel? Not sure you are
I’ll add my crackpot theory to this since we seem to be on the same lines:
I think the ‘did you catch all that’ was for the purpose of resurrection.
@Areullekino there's been no leak suggesting that and even if there was, its not allowed here
i wonder if she uses these tournments to absorve energy for xbalanque/primal fire in the same way that focalors used the trials for the oratrice....
I created an acount here just so I could start leaving comments on your videos 😊
I discovered Genshin a bit late (started playing in 3.6) and the first new region hype I experienced was Fontaine. Now that I have discovered your channel, I can't wait to share the Natlan hype (and Capitano is here and doesn't even need words to wow us with his prestige x)) with everyone here!
I can't tell you how much I love your content, it's everything I wanted and didn't think even existed. I am absolutely going to start watching and commenting on your whole yt let's play series, just so you know.
I have heard so much about all the content I have missed before I started playing, and I can't wait to experience a bit of it with past you! Your take on things is always interesting, I love how invested and real you are, and as a lore enjoyer myself, you have become kind of my reference for any crumbs I stumble across during my genshin journey!
Thank you so much for your content, I love what you do!
Have a nice day (kind of needed to recover from that surprise teaser bombshell ;))
Thank you so much for the kind words and I so glad you were able to find my channel to go through the Time Capsule of content for what you weren’t able to experience! It means so much to me when people find an appreciation for my playstyle and how invested into the lore I am, so I hope you enjoy all of the reactions, theories, and hype that we’ve had in the game over the last 4 years. You’ll have the closest experience to past content through my videos for sure, and I hope it only enables you enjoy the world, characters, and lore all the more. Thank you so much for the support!
HEAR ME OUT!
They said that natlan was at war, but now Mavuika talks about COMPETITION and taking your POSITIONS
the new gimmick of the region are MOUNTS
Kachina DRIVED around the Natlan map during the first teaser
every character so far has a MOVEMENT ability
Mavuika looks like a BIKER
Kinich looks like a MECHANIC with the outfit tied around his waist
The enemies shown in the first teaser wear HELMETS and use TIRES and WRENCHES as weapons
I PREDICT THAT THE MAIN THEME OF NATLAN WILL BE RACING COMPETITION and that the mout of Mavuika will be a MOTORBIKE!
So her pokemon would be Koraidon.
Yooo your cooking something man, either way its gonna be tournament arc and that arc is my favourite moments in every shonen anime
cant wait to see Capitano racing with his vintage tricycle
@@aaronyogurt8723 with the iconic honk honk!
so basically its jojo steel ball run 😂
goddammit arnold, you deserve more recognition from genshin community, compared to some other fake/half ass genshin content creator, i hope you will in the future
it's sad and infuriating watching people do something and not fully invested in it, what a shame
Eventho i really want him to be famous, i just wanna him keep having a good atmosphere n audience, being famous mostly will attract those bad side of the game community
capitano GLAZING is starting
What is this Glazing ?
HE IS HIM,LITTERALY NEED ONE WORD WHEN CHALLENGED BY THE FRAUDCHON
I thought Wanderer mains were crazy. I hear the boss battle music starting with these Capitano mains lmao
Shoutout to Chasca's va, Lauren Amante, who is the voice of Verr Goldet, the boss of Wangshu Inn
Now I'm curious how many VAs from this new cast did NPCs back then.
@@lordgrimm2638 wow, good for her, thanks for the info man
Literally the only reaction I was waiting to see after seeing this trailer lol
That little pixely thing (Ajaw) has me the most curious. What the hell is that? We've never seen anything like it.
i think he’s kinich companion the same way oz is to fischl. if we look closely, his dendro element has the 8 bit texture just like ajaw.
@@anniepie2610 Most likely, it also correlates with the theme of the Dendro, which is something artificial and sci-fi.
and funny thing that chracter uses sasuke va and that self proclaimed pixel dragonlord is naruto va😂😂😂.
Now we will get to see a lot naruto and sasuke together.
6:16 "You think I saw someone next to Capitano? You kidding me!?" is an all-timer playthrough moment. I was on the floor XD
🤔 Third nation in a row talks about eyes and seeing.
Sumeru, Nicole: You can only trust your own eyes.
Fontaine, Lyney: Don't trust your eyes, it's easy to trick senses.
Natlan, Mavuika: What we see is ought to be fate, now close your eyes and feel.
Not to mention Visions being God Eyes.
Literally appears, release a mythical "Hmmph" then leaves while refusing to elaborate further. Trully the strongest
My goat!
I work, got notify of this teaser, me stop work.
I go home, got notify of Arnold react to the teaser, me happy.
Capitano needs no words, he's already the coolest dude in Teyvat. Everything looks great fr, the designs, the music chefs kiss
THIS TEASER GOT ME HYPE ASF!!! CAPITANO GONNA POP OFF
So it seems the 'war' really is ceremonial. God I can't wait, Natlan's release lines up with my time off work too, just like Fontaine last year.
Hats off to your Mods again for not letting anything be spoiled for you! Not even the thumbnail! 🎉
LETS GOOOO OUR BOI CAPEAKTANO!!!!
We all can agree that Arnold is capitano's #1 glazer!!!!!
2:00 its only me see or it's really Australia signature building at the background at the first glance, the opera building
@@di8085 Yeah there’s some resemblance to the Sydney Opera House
Glad to see that you like Iansan, i thought im the only one lol. Good luck on the banners
The fact that she asked if he was brave is a reference to his Italian counter part who lies that he is brave
As soon as I finished watching the trailer, I was looking forward to see your reactions and hear your thoughts!! It's great to be hyped alongside others who feel the same.
Pray that Capitano will both have a weekly boss and become playable 🙏🙏 Just 1 more patch of chilling before the storm comes aaaaaaa
this is the reaction content i've been waiting for
OMFHG .. I'M CRYING.. ..WHAAAAAAA!!! *-- this was worth the wait.. this was worth the wait!! Welcome back.. welcome .. back!! Where are my fellow captains?! RISE UP!!.
Best lore researcher, now #1 Capitano glazer o7
Glad to see it ignites(pun intended) your excitement for Genshin
4:52
The Natlan theme song main melody 🔥🔥🔥
I was a capitano fan when he was first introduced, so happy.
people will hate me for what i will become when Pantalone shows up lol so i do feel you enthusiasm regarding Capitano
depends how they handle it ... he can beextremely boring or great
i watched this live on stream and man the experience was something else

This gave me Revival of the Uluru Games from Reverse 1999 vibes and im so hyped!!
YO THE THUMBNAIL IS INSANE🔥🔥🔥
I haven't started the video but I already feel your hype xD
Capitano lets out a cool grunt. He's the coolest 😂
Ajaw makes me think of Paimon cuz wtf are they 😭
MAVUIKA PHOENIX. I LOVE PHOENIX STUFF 😩
Thank god i enjoy Capitano as much as you do 😭 If i didn't, I'm not sure how to handle all the glazing.
I haven’t been able to watch your videos lately since I’m busy at most and hopefully I get to catch up fast on your videos and your theories..
I genuinely hope Capitano ends up being playable because I’ve been waiting UNTIL THIS DAY‼️ the current pyro archon looks like sunset chimed in a good way 😭 I love her design.. it’s so cool and she looks like the type of person to ride a motorcycle-
Edit: I am also on the part where you were talking about a Phoenix, I think that’s the same type of bird or dragon from the Nathan teaser trailer on the 4.7 trailer if I’m not mistaken….
Capitano went to the Brother Hanu school of HMPPHHH
jp va's cast is amazing🤣🤣🤣
Fontaine: Attack on titan arc.
Natlan: Naruto arc.
natlan is close and I've been waiting for this reaction
Funny enough the pink haired girl named Citlali is voiced by March 7th’s VA Skylar Davenport
Yeah, he just found that out at 8:30
The chills that I got seeing the doors open and the transformation into a phoenix, and remembering the slides from the manga of Lady Vanessa ascending to Celestia. The children of Murata will rise again
I want the pyro archon's hair color so bad
Iansan has a ball falling her, like bennett has rocks falling
shes stunning!
2:05 Mualani Hydro 2:12 Kachina Geo 2:25 Kinich Dendro 2:32 Citlali Cryo 2:48 Xilonen Geo 2:58 Chasca Cryo 3:20 Mavuika Pyro
it’s a big and big surprise holy moly I didn’t think we get this chicken on friday! and beloved capitano is finally coming to us
Waiting for you reaction, oh lore archon, my lore archon. Didn't know you were live. Naaaah, missed that. :c
My first thought after watching the trailer: IS ARNOLD OKAY
Capitano was the highlight of this teaser
Capitano: hmph
Me: *knees goes numb and falls for a masked man*
Arnold might just be the pyro sovereign dragon by how much he cooks 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Holy, you fed that league game lmao
But anything for our glorious king, CaPeaktano himself!!
I was trynna get out of that game ASAP! I was being held hostage LMAO
Capitano is HIM.
Yay your reaction video!
“Held hostage in an ARAM game with a Malphite” is a very scary sentence
Glad I'm guaranteed for the next Archon/Harbinger!!!! LET'S GO NATLAAAAAAAAN!!!!!!!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
GOATHIMPEAKTANO only need to say "HHMMPH", for everyone to glaze him. Mere mortal couldn't possibly comprehend Captain's words
Capitano with only a "Hmph" and the rest is a big hit
I guess you could say that this teaser is pretty lit🔥
Greatest game in the world
Was waiting for this
"also kinda looks like march with the hair"
*checks en voice actor*
*is the same voice actor*
My top pulls!
Mavuika, The Captain, Ororon, and Iansan! So excited for Natlan!🎉
2:30 the timing...couldn't have been better xD
He came
said "hmph"
and left.
Now that's a chad.
Watched the stream but rewatching it now again🔥
Really hoping Natlan isn't another depression impact. We need more epic actions for a change. I've had enough tears from Sumeru and Fontaine. Please Hoyo, I'm all dried up! Give me epic battles and cutscenes that gets my blood pumping this time!
Finally, I've been hoarding pulls since last day of Shogun's orignal banner (September 21st 2021) in wait for this moment...
I wonder what the story has in store for us…
her hair glows and she has no visible vision with her red hair? yeah i'd say Pyro Archon
@@ManonLczmaybe Pyro archon but it doesn't mean murata
@@ManonLcz no I understand that, but I don’t think she’s “Murata”, which was thought to be the “Himeko” Pyro Archon. Maybe Murata was the previous one?
@@NewWave3313 it IS called the "ode of ressurection" chapter so she could be at the end be ressurecting the dragon sovereign or previous pyro archon which could be Murata but thats just a theory and while i know a lot of people want an himeko expy it could just not happen, we didnt get a Seele expy yet either
Hopefully pyro traveler is good like PLEASE HOYO 😭😭😭
CAPEAKTANO OUR GLORIOUS KING
After Act 2, this trailer doesn't make too much more sense. We have a bit of context for what the scene of the flaming orbs could signify (perhaps relating to the "pilgrimage" Mavuika took in that alternate space), as well as how "fate" relates to Natlan's "rules." But I'm excited to learn more about what Capitano's and Mavuika's plans _really_ mean.
I WAS WAITING! LEZGOOOOO
I'm personally in love with everything especially Kinich, Xilonen, Mavuika my girl, and Ororon. ❤ my town well known for its logging and bikers so I'm loving our fire queen.
finally xD this is going to be fun
YESSS IVE BEEN WAITING FOR U ON THIS
when the presumable pyro archon approached and stands before the primal fire, the music in the background kind of reminded me of the Game of Thrones music in a way :D
The phoenix has claws on the wings and has a very vishap-y design style
What if Mavuika is actually the pyro dragon in disguise?
doubt
but Xbalanque could be
I'm gonna be in Disney World when it drops so I'mma have to rely on your streams Arnold 😢
I love the fact that Capitano's helm is basically Jotaro's cap (from Jojo's Bizarre Adventures) with a faceplate !
Wow mavuika ❤
FOR SURE THAT THE FAMOUS "MARE JIVARI" WILL BE IMPORTANT
All of the places that have been shown in the loading screen is important/connected to the lore so hoping that something big will happen there!!
Many of the characters seem to either dislike, feel reluctant, or be indifferent towards the tournament. Interesting.
I expect that the 6 symbols are for the dragon Pyro and we must collect them to revive him
Oh captain my captain
