Thanks a lot ! This version is by far my favorite, and you nailed it ! Very few little things missing, but this is a matter of interpretation and no-one is Gilmour-good, apart from David himself.

No this is not the best at all, the live pulse version or the studio version from division bell are far better.
@@coco_bold Well, that's why I said MY favorite. I would never risk myself in saying this or that version is the best, it so depends on each one's taste. I just like Gdansk version of this solo best, sue me. :)

Incredible playing! Live in Gdansk Definitely the best version. Very well played. Hope to learn this solo one day. I agree with everyone else. This is definitely one of David Gilmore’s absolute finest solos. That does not get the attention it deserves. I prefer this even over comfortably numb. So emotionally packed.

Started maybe 4 years ago when I got my first electric guitar. Played alot of Gilmour stuff the first two years. Great way to start learning the fretboard with his pentatonic bluesy playing..
15SSGUITARS yea I got my guitar in may.. the first song I learned is shine on you crazy diamond.. his stuff really isn't easy for a beginner like me but it will make me much better
Hey have you heard in any tongue.. live at pompeii? A couple of the riffs are similar to this song.. its gilmour at his soaring best.. you should try to tab that one as well

What effect pedals are you using?
Ofer Elaz For this tone I only used the distortion from the amp and the EHX Lineair Power Booster
Great playing my dude! If you don't mind me asking but what effects on your amp or pedalboard did you use to play this?
Justin Birtha thank you! I use a peavey vypyr vip 3 amp which has built in stompboxes, amps and effects. I use a tube screamer, the built in BRIT amp and compression. Ofcourse I added some reverb and delay. I hope this helps.
