- Wes and Angel was my favorite bromance in the show. It's a bit tragic that they never got back their level of friendship after what happened with Connor. Then again, everything having to do with Wesley ended up tragic in one way or another but this video is 99.8% no sad moments, just the good ones.
early series wes flipping between "annoying younger brother who will 100% tell dad if you're not nice to him" and complete and utter suckup is,,,amazing
Yeah, then we see that be slowly stripped away over 3 seasons as he becomes a grizzled, self-assured badass. An amazing arc to see.
Definitely Wesley being the younger tattletale brother while Angel would be the older trouble making brother whether he means to get into trouble or not.
Wesley is one of my absolute favourite characters from both Buffy and Angel, his character development is so good! I wish so much he got a happy ending though, he really deserved it
What's to say death isn't a happy ending?
@@NoThankUBeQuiet I mean in my opinion, to want to die means you're not happy being alive.. I would have loved Wesley to be happy in life with Fred, because he deserved it after all the crap he went through

@@NoThankUBeQuiet Because when he died, if you followed the comics after, you learned Wolfram & Hart still owned his soul, and cursed him to be a ghost that looked like his snobby, younger self, and he eventually sacrificed his soul into oblivion to help Angel. How's that happy? Oh, and Fred lives so he's not only completely destroyed but his love came back to life without him.

Wesley really did treat Angel as a father figure during their early years together. He looked up to him and craved his approval so much. It makes a ton of sense when you realize what his own father was like. I loved his loyalty to him and those early seasons of friendship.
7:18 I love this scene so much, Wesley and Angel looking at each other for the last time ever… almost like they knew they weren’t gonna see each other again and we’re remembering all the memories they had. One of my favorite scenes from the show
The last time they see each other is in the comics, actually. Angel says he has a plan to defeat wolfram and heart and make things back to normal (LA went quite literally hell after S5). Their dialogue is:
- Angel. Being your friend and fighting by your side has been an honor.
- Thank you, rogue demon hunter.

I've watched the show many times, but somehow, watching this made me understand their relationship a bit better.
So happy you added the scene when they were talking about lilah. Despite everything they had been through during that time angel still showed compassion for Wesley over his loss an I think that's beautiful.
At that time, i think they are friends again already. It wasn't just a compasion scene
Was that scene after season 4? Because I don't know what to think about them 'patching things up' after the spell used to erase Connor from their memories (and I don't remember when in s5 Wes breaks it, or I'd include it as a parameter)
@@Onigirli, this is a little (or a lot) late, but I'm pretty sure this scene happened quite a bit before the memory spell.
I wanted wesley and lilah to be a thing a lot more than wesley and fred :(

Ngl it's pretty in character even if it is an outtake.
The scene when Wesley is in the hospital after kidnapping Connor and Angel tries to smother him is missing. And no, I'm not being a smartass. Odd as it may seem, that too is a pivotal moment in their friendship, as it represents its nadir.
Nevertheless, shit's sad and I'm glad they kept it out

It suck the way his story ended even in the damned comics he was left out to dry. Always aggravated me.
(I haven't read the comics so cant comment on them)I dont agree that wesley was "left out to dry". His ending was tragic, but that's not a bad thing. I think his story over the last few episodes is legit my favourite part of both buffyverse shows. Every scene he has with illyria is so packed with depth and amazing acting that despite how painful it Is i love it every time.

The “why are you yelling at me,” is one of the most underrated funny moments of this show, which is funny in itself considering the episode itself from is the funniest in the series (Smile Time).
For a guy who can’t eat solid food he’s a good cook. Lol. I remember Cordelia saying that. And I loved his and Wesley’s relationship.
By the end of the show Wesley became the bad ass he thought he was when he first showed up

Wesley's arc is up there with Jaime Lannister as one of the best character arcs ever.
They wanted to be worthy of their families but in their own way, both lost the innocence they had through pain, then after losing everything they loved found redemption by fighting a battle each knew they couldn't win. Heroes!

it takes great writing and great acting to make such a dramatic character change feel authentic and earned

I'm surprised at how much I missed it on my last rewatch, and actually dreaded the character development lol

If I were writing Angel I'd make them hook up in s5 lmao. It would have been messy and fun. But man I love how complex their friendship is. Sometimes on other shows a character fucks up, they fight, but then after a while they just go back to the status quo ... you still see the aftereffects of Wesley's choice with Connor echo throughout the rest of their show and their friendship, and it's really real.

The reason we don't see much of Alexis Denisof these days is he suffers from a condition known as Bell's Palsy
Actually that was a temporary thing, it's the reason half his face is paralyzed in 5.01 Conviction but he had recovered by the next episode. He's been in some recent stuff, like The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and Legacies.
Wesley is sooooo cute! Wish to have a boyfriend like that.

when I had my submandibular gland removed my mate came by and told me he and my Girlfriend fell in love and are now together. And I laughed, he maintained seriousness. Then my Ex walked into the room and held his hand, looking at me but not making eye contact, looked like she was gonna cry. As soon as I stopped laughing and my face un-smiled there was a few seconds of silence.
And then they both (rehearsed) pointed and laughed manically at me, high fiving each other and hugging.
Then he gave me a hug and she gave me a kiss.
They said they wanted to give me some perspective on my surgery.
I mocked their egos that they thought me losing them was the worst thing imaginable.
