I used to think Wesley was the most annoying person in tv history ( while watching Buffy) then on my first watch through of Angel I started liking him , then he became my favourite character in the show after that he became one of my favourite characters in TV history and I legit cried when he died still not over it if I’m being 100% honest
Wesley really is one of the best characters in media history. You know, regardless of what he has done in Season 3 (which shaped him into who he is now), he really did show how much he cares about Angel. That's a true friend imo.
Wesley may be the most evolved character on any show ever. He was largely a joke on Buffy and an educated but comic relief character early on on Angel. He became a combination of Clint Eastwood, Gary Cooper and Terrance Stamp in the late seasons.
I just got to season 4 of Angel and Wesley is one of the most compelling characters across both series, I love how he developed from a coward to a cold-hearted bastard, vengeful and competent.
Wesley was my fave character. Not so much on Buffy, although sometimes he was hilarious. But on Angel his character development was just epic. Thank you so much to Alexis D for portraying such a powerful character. ❤❤

Wesley will always be my favorite character. Since Buffy, I thought he was funny and goofy but somehow deep inside I knew I was gonna love him. I understand how insufferable he was in Sunnydale but in Angel, he had the best character development. He was a man with no powers but his intelligence and loyalty is what brought the team to overcome many obstacles. His failures and near death experiences made him stronger and when he betrayed the group thinking he was doing right because of a false prophecy he was cast aside and that changed him making him bitter and defeated, hard but with a sadness that’s human. He became a badass and when he was accepted back he didn’t revert to his old self but kept the feelings and grew with pieces of who he was and stayed loyal to his friends until his end. Truly an amazing character.
Wesley's arc is something I've never seen before in media.... he literally goes from a comic, bumbling, incompetent to a very dark, pragmatic, bad-ass brooding guy, it's crazy. The things he starts doing in season 4 like driving that stake in the girl's arm to get intel on Angelus were so crazy
Other than possibly adding the parts between him and Faith in Angel, esp after she tortured him and he broke her out of jail to hunt down Angelus, I can def say he had great character development in Angel
Very nicely done... A true work of love, and pain and regret, redemption and new beginnings... And the entire journey they took this character on. It is a great story told very well with what you put together. Reminds me why I liked this show so much. Thanks.
Oh wow... Just checked out your channel and this is absolutely beautiful! You got a new subscriber. You chose each song perfect for each story arc. I love how you seamlessly interwove all these quotes and even included ones where they talked about Wesley, but he's not actually there. You almost made me cry at the end of the "Comes and Goes" part. Really emotional and beautiful edit. In my eyes you showed his journey perfectly. And this is the first video of this kind that I see for him. He see deserves this! You totally showed why he's one of my favourite characters and that he's got some of the greatest character development ever. Such an awesome job!
This is a good compilation, but it would be better if the emotional background music wasn't so loud as to largely drown out many of the more sotto voce but still very important lines.

*While I loved Wesley a fellow fan pointed out to me, his gaslighting the team not accepting responsibility for his part in how things played out. There is even a video where the fan picks apart his argument, lopsided view of how things played out. Hell there is even a scene where in Angel's FANTASY his best friend apologises for stealing his son from him, that is actually heart breaking & infuriating at the same time because at the end of it all Wesley STILL never apologised.*
Remember when he shot that employee for not helping him with the Fred situation? Or anyone when he stabbed Charles in the gut for his involvement? Such a departure from when his first “fight” in sunnydale.
I always love Wesley's character development but it always gets me every time seeing his death on Angel😢 I know the Angel comics him and Fred are ghosts at Wolfman and heart😢 I just wish that we didn't have comics I wish they were just converted into a spinoff for continuation of the series. The stories so great just like how it's kind of weird that in the comics Dawn and Xander hooked up and they end up getting married in San Francisco together on and off but they have kids together I can get that you know like they ended up together they weren't that different characters who wanted to do everything to protect the ones they love without powers. Characters who were mistreated and not shown the proper respect that they deserved for trying to do the right thing all the time always being told that they were weak when they weren't . Ex like in the final season Buffy look at Dawn she fought better than the potential Slayers against those axe dudes... I always thought it was weird that that whole Willow spell to find potential hit gone it's later discovered that it was a mistake yeah Mistake by Joss Walden..

Music volume should be 10-20% lower, otherwise this is great.
