      I think they will clearly start Skinner in game 7, and they must put an onslaught of shots on net. Somebody is gonna score off the rebound. Skinner on the road could be a different goalie next game, if the arena is completely rocking which I fully expect it to be.

      No, not always. 1997, Todd Marchant, Game 7 OT winner. Oilers fans were just happy to be there in those days. The Oilers had no money to spend and were never expected to win, ever. They had to contend with a titan every year in the first round. Definitely a much humbler fanbase back then.

      @@oilersridersbluejays That 3-1 series comeback against the loaded Avs was nuts in '98. It's not always about winning, I have a lot of pride and love for the Oilers of that time period. Scrappy underdogs that were never told they could hang and always gave a good showing. The pre salary cap era context is important, it was brutal for small market teams, particularly in the west with Detroit, Dallas and Colorado and the Oilers kept their heads above water.

      @Rogue_Strummer 22 дня назад +3

      I agree completely.. I have liked DeSmith for awhile now.. Maybe he was dealing with an injury of some sort. I don't know. But, Silov's did look tired. The problem for me is Silov's has played so well at times..I feel like you might be able to squeeze one last huge effort out of him in front of the home crowd, and then maybe go with either Demko or DeSmith in game one if they are able to advance to the next round. I think you ask Silov's how he's feeling, and sit the two goalies down together.. Ask them who gives the best chance to win in game 7 because it's really only the Silov's and DeSmith who know the true answer to that question.

      Gotta strongly disagree. Silovs wasn’t bad. He was actually quite good.
      Goal 1 - Holloway walks the whole team and gets a breakaway. Not on Silovs
      Goal 2 - Hyman is all alone in the most dangerous part of the ice, and has time to recover the puck and pick his spot. Not on Silovs.
      Goal 3 - Absolute snipe off the post and in. Could have had it but not a bad goal either
      Goal 4 - Soucy lets Nuge drive the net unchallenged and bury McDavid’s pass. Not on Silovs.
      Goal 5 - Kane uses 2 Canucks for the screen and absolutely snipes the corner. He never had a chance at even seeing it let alone stopping it. Not on Silovs
      Silovs has been the Canucks best player all series, and even in a 5-1 loss, he only gave up one goal that wasn’t mostly on someone else

    I noticed that they didn't have it, too, but I hoped that if they could get it to the 1st intermission tied 2-2, Tocchet could make some adjustments and refocus the team, but that second period was a killer. Obviously, the Canucks have come back all year, but there was nothing there. The Oilers talk about shooting themselves in the foot in previous losses, but the Canucks did the exact same thing tonight. The Oilers came to play, as expected, facing elimination, and the Canucks didn't. Even Miller looked out of it.

      Honestly, their lack of ability to get set up in the zone has been their undoing. Once they get set up, they often look great and only fail to score because they whiff on an open net. But then you turn around and watch Edmonton walk into the Canucks zone with 100% efficiency and it reflects even worse on the Canucks. Hope they can figure it out.

      Oilers should have and could have won in 4 or 5. They needed to step on the gas up 4-1 in the 1st, instead of parking and taking a nap. Show up, skate, hit, and work hard for 60 minutes. Now they likely are about 35-40% chance to win but should be 90-95%... it's all mental and choosing to work and pay the price. They don't do that enough, but they can beat any team in the league.

    The last two games have given both fanbases a lot of humility. Anything can happen in a game 7. Regardless of who wins tomorrow, either team COULD do it. The handshakes will be well-earned at the end of the game. I really hope the Canucks can show up and play with heart and grit and resiliency, like so many of us know they can. Leave it all on the line. They've had such a special year and I really hope for them that they can feel proud of the game they play in game 7, no stone unturned.

Overall, I'm not mad, just disappointed, why they cant replicate the same momentum and energy as game 5 is beyond me. Maybe its the pressure, idk. Bringing up Dallas & Edmonton, my dad told me that the Dallas vs Edmonton series in 97 was his favorite non Red Wings series. He said Dallas had a 3-1 series lead and was leading game 5 by a 3-0 score late game. Oilers score with 3 mins left. He said, "well, at least they won't get shut out now." Short time later the Oilers score again. He told me he turned up the radio because it was getting good. Then he said the Oilers tied it with a little over a minute left to play and they capped it off by winning it in triple overtime. He said they went on to come back and win the series. I wish I was older and there with him to listen to that game (as well as the Wings games that year) but when this series happened, it was before my first birthday. Sounded like a hell of a series.

I think Vancouver will be a different team in game 7, it is strange how inconsistent Vancouver can be. 15 shots against the mighty defense of the Edmonton Oilers, wow thats really mailing it in. But then again, the Rangers did just about the same thing after the 2nd period of game 5.. Its going to be a great game, good luck to Vancouver.. it will be fun watching Shannon be conflicted if Vancouver wins the next game and goes against Dallas, though I think the allegiance remains with Vancouver.
