- Hello Games and Bandai Namco Europe today announce that the Nintendo Switch version of No Man’s Sky will be released worldwide on October 7th 2022. It will be available digitally through Nintendo’s own e-shop and physically through all good retailers. For the first time ever, a physical PlayStation 5 version will also be made available on the same day.

ive played during the 2016 period (i like to call the "no updates" period) my device got wiped and i lost NMS. i have a switch and now i am very happy that there is soon NMS on the switch.
Very jealous that I didnt play from release date, but I get to enjoy it now

But steam deck version (PC version really) is more beautiful and moddable.
now we only need Official native Linux support. although the windows one runs pretty well too

I own a steam deck and as of right now and the game is impossible to install. It makes the UI crash and you have to hard reboot the deck.
I'm playing it on the Switch right now, and I've been counting down the minutes for this release, and I can say the wait was so worth it!! I'm pretty amazed at how smoothly No Man's Sky runs on the Nintendo Switch! Very impressed & so happy to be able to play this game on the go! I already own this game on 3 other systems, and I can definitely say it's %100 worth buying!! Thanks for all your hard work guys!

looks like i'm gonna be buying no man's sky for the third time. once for ps4, once for PC and soon for switch, and i'll be happy to because considering the years of support hello games has put into this game they've put over 3 games worth of development into this game.

Putting NMS on the switch is on a par with putting Skyrim on the Xbox 360 back in the day - it doesn't seem feasible, yet here we are.

if they can manage to run this game on a switch, then a quest 2 port is seeming more and more likely. Imagine how many millions of more players will have access to no mans sky vr. Also, I'm gonna be pre ordering the psvr2 immediately, and I swear to god if you have to buy the psvr2 version of no mans sky separately im gonna cry.

In addition to the Switch version, there is also a new retail version for the Ps5. If the Switch version runs well, we'll double up. That makes the collector's heart happy.

Even if it's running at 360p in handled (with some form of upscaling to get it to 720p) this is still insanely impressive, borderline black magic right here to get it to run on that ancient SOC.

@@keyrif7111 It probably is since that can run on even the Switch's ancient hardware (that was already dated when the handheld came out in 2017, let alone today 5 years later). It can't be Nvidia's DLSS since the hardware is way too old to support that.
Anyway you can tell the imagine is upscaled from the softer look and visible shimmering all around objects. Definitely looking forward to Digital Foundry's video on this, as it definitely qualifies as an impossible port. Also curious about the framerate here and how well it can keep the action locked to 30.

@@keyrif7111 The game has to get done and come out, so I'm going to guess October. Probably a week after it comes out, unless they get it early, in which case it could come out earlier. But I will assume it will be out a week or two after release, in October.

As an outsider, my opinion of No Man's Sky has completely turned for the better. I've listened to the word of mouth, and am in awe of this impressive showing on the Switch. I'm excited to go out and find a physical copy of this.

Based on the Nintendo store page its single player which is still fun exploring at your own pace, but I do hope in some future by an extra miracle we will see multiplayer on the Switch.

@@DiegoHernandez12 ok so, no man's sky is huge right? So huge even if the entire human population tried to play it we still wouldnt visit 1% of all planets. So you can technically find other players by chance or try to actively seek the, i heard that there are many communities but i didnt play enough to see em. Ah yeah, its also crossplay.

I remember having a weird dream, back when they released the game in 2016, that they would make a Wii U Edition it would only be like one star system with four planets and that would be it, so it's just a weird thing to me thinking that this is on a Nintendo console 6 years later. And not just on the console but the full game with all the new updates feels like the dream I had is actually coming true in a way.

Is it just me or does it look like the first instance of FSR 2.0 used on a console game?
Day1; on the fence of buying this on PS4 for years, especially because I never have the time and dedication to play games that are this timeconsuming on that system. On the Switch its different. Its a bit like with Skyrim, as if its just a game perfectly played on the Switch. Let's just hope the performance holds up.

I know there's no multiplayer but it would have been nice to even see/interact with other players in the hub if you're connected to the net.

@@Ray-rb3ot the NMS's page says it'll be releasing as single player, so it could get muliplayer later, also based in Helo Games vision of the game they will definitely try to make it cross platform
