    OMG This music 🎶 takes me back to my teenage years. Watching American Bandstand on TV 📺. I just wish I could turn back time. This era is so great yea for the 50's and 60's. I may be a senior citizen but I can still get down and dance 💃 to my 50's and 60's music 🎶.

    Gary Troxel seems like such a very shy and gentle soul. He must be very calm mannered in general.
    I certainly do love the music of The Fleetwoods! It's just very soft and relaxing and it touches my soul.

      Actually Gary had anything but a calm life after the hits stopped coming. His own children wouldn't let him visit his grandchildren and so he took it to the Supreme Court. It was a very public case, top story on the national news at the time. The case was called, "Grandparents' rights" and the court agreed to hear it. In the end they found against him. No rights for grandparents to see their grandkids if the parents object. I interviewed him for a newspaper article about 15 years ago and he said he was devastated by that decision.

      Wow, i wonder what happened. I would have loved to know the reason why. Did Gary give you any reason why they wouldn't let him see his G children ? What a story. Life can be so strange..

    • @gdouglas999
      @gdouglas999 7 лет назад +12

      It was actually his daughter-in-law and her new husband that didn't want Gary to see his grandchildren so I misled you when I said "his children." What happened is that Gary's son, the father of the grandchildren, committed suicide and his wife remarried and when she did she and her new husband decided they didn't want Gary in their lives. Gary took it to the Supreme Court but lost because the court found that as long as the parents are good and capable, they have the right to decide who can see their kids and who can't. You can find all the details of the case by googling "Troxel vs. Granville." It was big national news in 2000 but the newscasts never mentioned that Gary was a singer with the Fleetwoods.

    "Mr. Blue". Gracias por compartir.
