Actually Gary had anything but a calm life after the hits stopped coming. His own children wouldn't let him visit his grandchildren and so he took it to the Supreme Court. It was a very public case, top story on the national news at the time. The case was called, "Grandparents' rights" and the court agreed to hear it. In the end they found against him. It was actually his daughter-in-law and her new husband that didn't want Gary to see his grandchildren so I misled you when I said "his children." What happened is that Gary's son, the father of the grandchildren, committed suicide and his wife remarried and when she did she and her new husband decided they didn't want Gary in their lives.
