Really happy to "bee" a part of this, Joseph simply was too small brain to learn the deck in 2 days so of course I, as the Master of the Swarm, the Paleo Man turned Insect Enthusiast, had to come in and click buttons at literally 4-5 AM my time (I am not joking). Ok now looking at it, maybe should have made a take going second, this deck is also pretty decent at boardbreaking, you can usually just extend through negation granted it isnt of course Drytron, most people dont read the last part of Gokipole and just let it through and lose a monster.
They are knights mounted on insects. The different insects represents the different units/roles in the army. With Invincible Atlas being the base/castle.

Yeah its hot garbage, you are only ever equipping with Pico and have no other ways to do it, its just bricky and most of the time just dead or could have been another extender.
I might consider siding it in when going second - you never want to equip Parasite to your OWN monsters, you'll be slapping that on an opponent's monster and then using Cocoon to tribute it away and summon Insect Queen. Of course, is that better than simply playing hand traps? no, probably not.
That's the thing this deck doesn't really care that much about specific starters or extenders, although if insektors end up being the optimal build it will be an option
You missed one of the types that can be easily broken: reptiles. Snake Rain is basically 80% of Painful Choice if the right archetype comes along. Also, the line about the 4 digit IQ player made me laugh way too loudly.

my favorite beetrooper/insect spam deck ive come up with skips the beetrooper link 4 entirely to make the insect lock only temporary, so you can make cicada king + seraphim papillon, and then uses resonance insect to send fusion parasite to graveyard, which both papillon and cicada can revive during the enemy turn to make monsters like invoked raidjin and millennium eyes restrict (since fusion parasite isnt once per turn). with that build, you can make stuff like apollousa if you end up with enough materials on field after that, since you're not insect locked once you get the bees off the field. i even have an extra spicy version that uses fusion parasite to make red eyes dark dragoon...

This deck looks cool. I have a few questions though. -What's so optimal about Kuwagata ? The lower the ATK, the more you can destroy by effect, so wouldn't something like Killer Needle or the OG Gokibore be better ? -Same question for Gadarla over Kumongous. Is it only because it can be summoned through the wind Barrier Statue ? -I guess the mothman can be swapped for Aztekipede if you want to guarantee the extend ? -Is there a better choice between ending on Papilion + countertrap or ending on Cicada King (+ Sting) ? -Since your only Xyz is Cicada King... is the Zeus really useful ? Maybe you can remove it and consider things like Halqifibrax (helps going into Papilion when you're not insect locked yet), Azuza+Hama (another help to OTK), or Gossip Shadow to have an alternative play if you feel a Nibiru coming. In any case that was very interesting to watch, thanks to the guy who actually built and played the deck (not MBT) !

A bad hand needs 3 Insects on field so you can make 2 into Pico and attach Resonance to the third 1, Aztek can't do this because it requires an Insect in grave already. -There is not unfortunately, 1 more extra body in the end board doesn't do anything as we see in the Guru replay, it just sits there without a use. The best best case hands can end on both Cicada and Papi but those only happen once in a Blue Moon. -I like the Zeus mostly just because stealing an Xyz with TTT and then overlaying Zeus is hilarious, but it can come up, I just like the option. You already OTK trivially so Hama is not needed, now thinking about it Halq isn't too bad, makes only smol Sting opens into Papi which is pretty good, and you literally cannot make Gossip, all your level 3 extenders Insect lock you.

insects have always had the same issue as plant which is simply they lack a good end board. Have you read the Battlewasps? If they were dragons they would be insane

Not that it really matters, but for sake of information: Girochin Kuwagata was actually around during Pharaoh's Servant, and NA got it in '02. ...and then nothing since the worldwide '04 release, until the Speed Duels pack MBT mentioned, which was 15 years later.
Resonance Insect is a card that i have a copy on my banned binder because it will eventually happen someday like Block Dragon. It's an extremely busted card with no home.
Imo the better target for Gokipole is Traptrix Myrmeleo and then you can extra normal summon it off Armor Horn and search a trap hole card. Then you can special it on the opponents turn with Papillon to pop a back row.
Im not a fan or Myrmeleo, you dont need more monster disruption, its much better to just generate advantage through smol Stings and Resonance, better to focus on combo as it will pay off far more.
am i missing something? why is everybody saying this deck fell off, sure the fusion, the other big beetle, and the beetrooper squad doesn't make a ton of sense but to say they didn't print more extenders isnt really true is it? like assault roller is just a free special summon from the hand and beetrooper Decent is a token summon and an mst if you control the big link monster basically ensuring if you drew it later on you could also pop/use it as a spell trap removal for something, lets not forget the unofficial support through many other insect archetypes, krawler soma for example and now they have the new instant fusion target and they have a ready fusion target(kwagar herculies) etc. what happened, from what im seeing this looks like it was suppose to be the next dragon link for insects, insect link? i may be just coming back but this really seems like a smash hit.

Yes, any monster including main zone monsters can attack link monsters. They're just glorified fusions. Also, if you think that Drytron was bullsh*t with those negates then wait until you see Dinosaurs.

Everyone always talks about how good MBT's openings are, but nobody ever mentions how amazing his descriptions for the actual decks are. "This deck is for the duelist who wants the world to know they have a quadruple digit IQ and they refuse to use it to make the world a better place" is absolutely hysterical.
If no one else has said it, I'm gonna be the guy to mention that Girochin Kuwagata came out a looooong time ago, back in Pharaoh's Servant. Also, wouldn't Killer Needle be a better target? Lower attack to increase Gokipole's reach, but also, more importantly: it's a bee!
Love this deck. My build isn't 100% done yet in real life but still managed to top at locals. Cannot wait for the new support; probably my 2nd favorite TCG deck. Just wish Dream Mirror was better, beautiful art.
Im not too familiar with "modern" yugioh (still catching up on everything after the synchro era), but would transcicadia be a good add-on in this? It could be dumped by resonance insect and later special summoned for a free 3-star token and would open up synchro plays for the deck, with transcicadia being a tuner.
The deck kind of struggles a bit to get monsters that dont Summon themselves on the field, easiest is with Arbalest or Papi but its hard to get it into the grave at the same time as Arbalest Summon and Papi is a bad card. And yes I did just copy paste this from another reply.

I think you should replace the moth kaiju with kumongous the spider kaiju. kumongous has lower attack stats, thus making it easier to hit.

I just came back into the game after I put it down in 2005. What happened. Weird question, can you attack into opposing link monsters or do main monster zone monsters ignore them? Also.. What the hell was that drytron match up. That's so many negates!!
Yes, any monster including main zone monsters can attack link monsters. They're just glorified fusions. Also, if you think that Drytron was bullsh*t with those negates then wait until you see Dinosaurs.

If no one else has said it, I'm gonna be the guy to mention that Girochin Kuwagata came out a looooong time ago, back in Pharaoh's Servant. Also, wouldn't Killer Needle be a better target? Lower attack to increase Gokipole's reach, but also, more importantly: it's a bee!

Love this deck. My build isn't 100% done yet in real life but still managed to top at locals. Cannot wait for the new support; probably my 2nd favorite TCG deck. Just wish Dream Mirror was better, beautiful art.

Im not too familiar with "modern" yugioh (still catching up on everything after the synchro era), but would transcicadia be a good add-on in this? It could be dumped by resonance insect and later special summoned for a free 3-star token and would open up synchro plays for the deck, with transcicadia being a tuner.
The deck kind of struggles a bit to get monsters that dont Summon themselves on the field, easiest is with Arbalest or Papi but its hard to get it into the grave at the same time as Arbalest Summon and Papi is a bad card.
