It's not 28 AP per encounter... it's 28 for all 5 rounds. I'm able to get through all 5 in about 2-minutes, meaning 28 AP per 2 minutes. What I believe the content creator was saying was the time shown in the results. For me, that time is generally 20-25 seconds, but it's only showing the time actively fighting, it isn't accounting for the actual duration of all 5 matches.
@dumahim yes, I agree it was a little misleading. However, I've yet to find a better early-game alternative. This still seems like the best. I'm experimenting with other options, but so far nothing has produced more AP while maintaining the same minimal effort.
Disingenuous is more like it. Unless he legitimately did some math and forgot to add in the loading screens… but that’s fine. I would say regardless I did notice a huge jump in my AP after grinding out all the combat sim sessions I had available in chapter 2 so it definitely feels the fastest. But this game is so big… and not too hard. Why not just play and enjoy it and level up materia naturally.
I don't know how you're doing your math, you get 28AP and it takes 20-30 seconds, you get double with AP Up materia, so 56AP every 20-30seconds, that's literally 6720AP every hour if it takes 30 seconds, and you get slightly more since it's usually a little faster than 30 seconds when you find your rhythm
Been watching your vids for a long time primal, recently followed many of your ff12 guides, thank you for everything you do for us final fantasy lovers!
I believe the best materia first to level up would be Enemy skill, steal and maybe fire and ice materia then try leveling up HP and vitality, mp materia to lv 4 if possible. early game of course with AP materia then later you can try the harder versions.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the ap gained only apply to the 3 party members who participated in the VR battle? That means the other 1-4 members get nothing. Would it not be more efficient to kill enemies in the open world where all 5-7 characters get ap instead?
If you have the same materia like Hp up on someone with double AP does it give you a boost like the 1st one if you have the same materia on one character?
Hey Primal! Thanx for this! I was just fooling around with the combat simulator, I'm still in chapter 2 so I don't have the AP up materia yet, but this is soooo good for levelling materia even in chapter 2. I love your videos dude!!! Can't wait for the overpowered one!!! Cheers!!!
Kinda wished that the loading times were a bit shorter, especially since it's on the PS5 and that seems to slow this down. Also potentially dumb question but have that added the weapons and armors in the old ff7 where the materia can't earn any AP along with double and triple growth?
So to clarify, I can select the rechallenge option over and over after every fight correct? It was the restart from the beginning prompt that made me question that. Thanks!
Grassland Region Intel, Level 1 VR: 56 AP (with AP materia) + 28 AP + 28 AP = 112 AP earned across party Grasslands Fiend Intel 5: 16 AP (with AP materia) +8 AP +8 AP +8 AP +8 AP = 48 AP earned across everyone Grassland Region Intel, Level 1 VR: took me 1: 55 to complete on easy which includes loading Grasslands Fiend Intel 5: took me 0: 30 to complete which includes loading The VR has an efficiency of 58.33 AP/min and the fiend intel has an efficiency of 96 AP/min which increases with each additional character from what you start the game with. For example, when you get the next person to join your party, it increases to 112 AP/min. On just a single materia, it's 32 AP/min versus 29 AP/min with the fiend intel being the higher one still.
I've leveled up so much doing this i doubt it's 28 per run. There's 5 rounds, each round has multiple monsters, some monsters give more than 3AP. Im finishing all 5 rounds about 1 minute then retry. Feel like im getting more than 28AP a run.
After thinking about this, I took this a step further to make it more of an AFK farming style. I'm not terribly far in the game and just now starting Chapter 4. However, I took the video above, and made some tweaks. If you want to be really lazy on it, equip your materia, do the stage above, and let the computer do the fighting (with the exception of the leader). Then when you hear the victory music, just hit re-challenge and confirm. It takes much longer (six minutes for my characters), but Chadley also gives you access to a materia called "Auto-Unique" that allows your team mates to automatically use unique moves. Slapping these on the two non-active characters will likely cut time in half (took mine from 6+ mins down to about 2.75 mins). I do recommend including Barret in the mix because of the fliers in the third battle. If you have access to a controller with turbo buttons, slap it on the Square button, and it'll likely be even quicker. Not as efficient as actively farming, but if you work from home and can at least hear the game running, it does the trick. Just have to check the materia from time to time, or do the math ahead of time. 😀
Yeah, this works nicely. In the past several hours while working from home and just letting it run in the background and "re-challenging" over and over, I've managed to max most of my materia already (again, I'm still early in the game and don't have that many). Will be a nice trick as I unlock more for sure.
I didn't know that using square would also reenable the try again method. Going to keep this in mind, I tend to use remote play from my steam deck a lot, so I can use turbo function with it haha. Thanks for the tip! @@lhshadowfenix

Because the combat system has been entirely reworked, and a lot of the stuff you unlock in remake is available by default in rebirth. I don’t feel much less powerful despite the low stats in rebirth compared to end game in remake
@MrUltimatelover6 so I did 2 run for 1 hours each 1 for just 28 ap and the one that gives you 56 ap So the 28 one for the hour completing around 30 secs per match gave me 1,680 for the hour Now the ap boost one which is 56 ap gave me 3,360 in that hour. @@guidecca3506 Unfortunately, the higher the level difference between you and your enemy, you get less EXP. So, for example, the secret boss in the Grasslands. just because people dont upload early does not mean they did not get the game early, or maybe you missed how FFunion and Mrhappy uploaded a review a week before release?
@Primalliquid92 they made it simply clear to all media to see to it that nothing get spoiled for re new copies. You don't get a review copy media outlets do. You need to wait just like everyone else. I'm not picking on you but you rushed through the game and it kills the fun
Just let people enjoy it... its been 3 days. Put up your end game stuff in a week or so damn man...
WRONG.
I going to max AP materia up first.

I love your guidelines before commenting … then you engage in terrible misinformation. It’s not 7500. It’s more like 900. Good rage bait though … bum.
And I was right. 2 min average bouts. That’s 840 an hr. 1680 with ap boost link.
Bum RUclips channel.
Just play the game y’all and do all the side hussle. Better than mindlessly grinding this.
You get 56AP per fight with AP Up attached. When the level increases need thousands of AP to upgrade, this is most definitely not worth doing hundreds of these boring battles to level up materia. Too quick to pump out inaccurate content just to be first.
firstly, its not about "how much per fight" its about how much per hour, and as an fyi mobs at the end of the game still give the same amount of AP, complete the game and then say my information is inaccurate
What a stupid method, LMAO!
