Why Bin prime instead of Stix. I like being able to clean my tools with water not alcohol. I use a Graco 308 Triton pump sprayer with a 30 ft hose, stix bonds well and sands great.

Thanks for all the helpful content. I also have a cabinet Painting business and am always looking for new ideas. Have you ever used PPG Breakthrough ?

Michael Canright thanks for watching Michael! I’ve tested it out. It’s a quick dryer, I do a lot of question asking and watching in various groups and there are at least 2 versions of breakthrough, complaints about both of them are surface breakdown where hand oils touch them. I’ve also seen people wipe it off with a wet rag so that one is a no go for me personally

Michael Craine Hmmmm that definitely not my experience. I have done approximately 350 kitchens and Breakthrough is all I have ever used. I do know the “older” formula did seem to perform better. After it has cured it is extremely durable, without a clear coat. Ive been tempted to play around with Benjamin Moore Advanced, but for the volume we do I can’t imagine having to wait that long in between coats. With the breakthrough we are able to coat the other side almost by the time we are done spraying the opposite. Ive had very few call backs over the years for anything regarding durability. I know you have videos on it somewhere, but what is your favorite water based cabinet paint?

Michael Canright glad to hear it man. I did hear quite a few people have callbacks from one of the formulas so while I loved the dry time, didn’t want to open myself up to a possible issue down the road just in case. I do like the General Finishes white and Clear Enduro Poly. Mainly because it’s what I learned on and the factory is 15 min away from me. I do have a video here on my top 3 poly choices and why
