I wrote the Norf Norf comment, as I thought we were meant to write good songs which were let down by the chorus - I think that a lot of songs chosen are just bad overall, and that the contrast is therefore not as stark. I like the beat switch on the chorus, I just wish the vocals had more variation. Still a fantastic song, and the verses are 10/10. On the whole, I would give it at least 8.5/10 🤓
Another song that I just remembered: Angeleyes by ABBA. The verses are fantastic and have that great minor key sense of Drama that ABBA perfected. The chorus sounds major key and quite bland, and the transition is quite jarring

Oh, just realized another one: Dido-Thank You. The verses are melancholic and beautiful, paving the way for Eminem's stan. The chorus is decent-ish, but is just an average radio chorus, and doesn't live up to the stage set by the verses.

@@Primalstrawberry I love Indie Pop but I can say Brad's hate for indie pop is understandable. He grew up listening to Rap, which is one of the most musically and lyrically complex genre. Listening to indie pop would feel like listening to baby rhymes to him.

If you think that is even close to MGK’s best song you clearly haven’t heard Lead You On a song where he raps about his two year heroine addiction through the guise of talking to a therapist about a relationship and it also makes brilliant use of his samples of the song Twice by Little Dragons.

Dj Mustard, Tyga, ty dolla $ign - In My Room. The first part is a vibe but it quickly takes a nosedive with this alarm-piercing hook that is the equivalent of the classic iPhone alarm sound. No comment on Tyga's verses, he’s irrelevant. He does what he always does that is being a filler rapper.
