@@MultiLingualGamingExactly! natural progression and sense of discovery 1st foremost. Meta stuff comes when I'm done. Though I wanna say rushing to endgame is dumb but we can't do jack if these modern mmos are designed with crappy quests you just skip. It's sad. All that's left is exploration.
I was one of the first users to experience Siege on the Korean server. Currently, the game is very undervalued by Korean players. However, after the failure of Lineage, NC has rebuilt itself as a user-friendly company, and TL is the first of its kind. I think TL's first siege was more inspiring than WoW's first 25-man raid, and I met a lot of foreigners on the Korean server as well. As a long-time MMORPG player myself, I can tell you that this is a good game with very little grind, and it's literally a good game. The character combat was uncomfortable, but skill specialization made everything better. Even the leveling process was long and tedious, but my experience on the boosting server made it so easy and fast that every quest seemed like an epic quest. It's a lot of fun to siege with golems, to steal resources from both factions sieging with steel even if you're not in a specific guild, and to use skills that take advantage of the day, night, and weather. I hope TL will be a good experience for foreign players as well.
Is it? I'm new to mmos on console, but it sounds to me that you have to grind a lot to get good end game build. On top it sounded to me that there are so many tasks to do daily, weekly. In addition I heard that it's a must have to be in a guild, which is fine, but they do also have events you have to participate in. So in all in, one thing that keeps me a bit away from the game is that I have the Impression that it is recommended to play this game almost daily for at least 2 hours. Once or twice a week for 4-5 hours is not enough...?
@@Hagh12375 I think he means the games has a lot of Daily and weekly grind, but is tamed, since most of the dailies have a overcap, for example contracts can be stacked, dungeons are time gated and hour events are there as an extra. So pretty much ''play at Your own pace''
Appreciated the info from a player who already spend time playing in KR. I'm part of a casual guild who is gonna start playing on f2p launch, you think we will be fine? we are like 40-50 members but without a big zergling alliance. We have an small guild as ally but we want to enjoy all content (pvp too) as a guild without that tryhard competitive mentality.
I'm going to save you guys the TL;DP (Too long, didn’t play) 🤣🤣 I played on the KR servers, reached Epic 2 set T2 content/dungeons, and maxed my gear at the time. At endgame: - Endgame will solely depend on the alliance that takes over the server. Both PvP and PvE content are heavily tied to this. - It gets stale, and you’ll notice how lacking the devs are in terms of competence. It’s as if they don’t know where the game is heading. - Yes, it’s open-world, but you’ll mostly use teleporters, and it feels more linear than “open” due to all the content being separated into zones with invisible walls disguised as big rocks or mountains. - You’ll notice how small and disconnected parts of the map are (which breaks the "open-world" immersion, in my opinion). - Gear is heavily pay-to-win . - The game is very meta-centric, both in PvP and PvE, with lots of gatekeeping. - Everyone equips SNS during Node Wars. - Good luck having fun as a solo player! 🤣 - The reason it died in KR is that the devs don’t know how to balance the advantage of big alliances, and it ruins the entire game’s content. TL;DR I give this 3 months tops in the West.
There is the initial euphoria at release. A big pvp event happens where it is established who the dominant alliance is, everyone goes back to their previous MMO.
This aint KR. This is global, and if you think we will fold against the bigger alliances, you are out of touch. Theres ppl with more time, money and resources than any alliance.
I was on the fence about playing this game, since lastly playing the beta last time for the western audience. But from all the info you provided I'm down to playing this now, one of the main reason it there's more PVE content now.
wish they kept owpvp as it was or make it like in Lineage 2, sadly they focuse on pve mostly. hope they dont ruin it more with pve and life skill or it will become NW 2.0 or BDO/BnS crap
What I don’t understand is why you would pay to not play the game. Isn’t the entire point of the game to 1. get through the main story and 2. to grind your character to the max. If you pay $4000 to max out your character where is the motivation to actually play the game!? Having said that it is important for a game to be financially successful so I do plan on spending something on it if it is any good.
In these p2w games you will sometimes see whales skipping content because they don't care about the pretty lights and colors. They care about getting to the top as quickly as possible. Typically these whales are fewer in number but will prop up a p2w game entirely themselves. The majority of people who will spend money on the game will play semi-hardcore and will reach a wall in the game that will become either insurmountable with the amount of time they have available to play or keep them from participating in the activities they enjoy. (fomo) The only people 'skipping' content are the egomaniac whales who will constantly swipe. the rest of the population will tend to swipe after the game has them hooked. P2W is a devious monetization model that preys on our human psychology. It's VERY hard for me to even consider playing these KR MMO's anymore, especially because they die so fast in the west.
Thanks for the updated review, I'd have loved some words about how the performances are and what type of config do we need to play the game in good conditions.
the reason why he didnt touch on it is because it runs so good you dont need much at all. its optimized surprisingly well for how far the render distance is and how well it handles hundreds of players on your screen.
I have a Ryzen 3700X and a 2060 Super and it runs great even on High graphics. There are some videos of it on my channel if you want to verify. I was genuinely impressed.
As an old-school Ragnarok Online enjoyer, T&L really clicked with me. Everything you do in this game matter because it leads to the ultimate goal: large scale gvg. There is just something about guilds duking it out and the server drama/politics that comes with it thats special and unique to MMORPGs. No other genre has this kind of memorable PVP and I am glad the devs were not afraid to design a game around it in a see of mediocre WoW clones.
@@BarnzTT Yeah same, I always find it really funny when a game goes "we're gonna be that hardcore PvP mmorpg fk yeah" and then they realise they're are appealing to a fraction of a minority of gamers so they go "wellp I suppose PvE is needed ooops"
thats because the console mmos are locked for only console players, this game has console and PC all playing together, so it wont die like other console mmos have

These people are so delusional. I'm actually laughing reading the comments. They are praising NCsoft for "fixing" this absolute dog shit mmo.. It's blatantly pay to win which everyone admits but "oh theres counters to every build, don't worry!". Okay so I lose to my counter and I lose to anyone who isn't a counter that is whaling?? LOL Thats not even to mention the daily limits on content you can do, oh wow they made it so days can roll over! They are actually excited that they dont have to log into the game every day... LOL Imagine being excited that you DONT have to play a video game every day... The MMORPG genre has been absolutely ruined by board members, share holders and these players. I guess they don't realize that these corporations have turned them into little pay pigs, they continue to take the bait. 😂
Focusing on the PvP part of this game, because that is the true focus, it's likely end up in a zerg fest. As a long time NA Aion player (about 7 years) and a BDO player (about 7 years as well) and being a part of the hardcore PvP scene and been in top tier guilds, this will eventually follow suite. I will say that the one thing that stands out from this compared to BDO and Aion is that the "time to kill" seems a bit slower and there isn't like overpowered people that 1 or 2 shot you. You're able to pull off a combo, get in and get out which I think is really good in a large scale PvP game. But at the end, a zerg fest is a zerg fest. And we know, the biggest zerg wins. There are some guilds out there, 1 in particular that already has a population for about 6 or 7 guilds to call their own and just ready to dominate the PvP scene. MANY of them are former BDO players from top tier guilds. The PvP scene is in for a treat man. Can't say this will be a positive thing, but having been on Aion and BDO for so long in the hardcore PvP scene, TnL is looking like it'll end up in the same spot at the end of the day, may the best zerg win.
You may not have a 1 shot ability, but you can definitely kill in 2 shots. For example, an enhanced flash arrow cast from inviz does 9k crit with a basic purple tier 1 weapon even if you go full precision to have a reasonable hit rate. There are bomb squads in this game that are explicitly aiming to disrupt Zergs like this in any GvG. It will be a fun experience, and I can't wait for it to launch, but the time to kill is definitely not slow... it is extremely fast in GvGs. It may be slower in small pvp scales and even then, it depends.
@@RAWsassin Yeah but devs said they're planning to substantially increase the TTK their next additions to the combat, so that will probably change while BDO is supposed to be like that somehow
@@sportschool3537 would be great. I think deleting heavy attack chance from the game would help a lot tbh. Heavy attack chance + crit on a high dmg skill is too much
@@RAWsassin True, but since the heavy crit weapons are not as OP as Greatsword for example, I think that balancing should be done more onto the numbers than the stats themselves... One thing this game should do and doesn't is have separate damage values for PvP like other MMOs do for each skill... but anyway, they do need to up the TTK... we'll see how it goes... for now, stacking evasion is the counter to all this...
You'll always ask "what is this dudes build when coming across a juiced character".... it's a credit card homie, that's how you juice your character in this garbage
Solid video mate! I will be linking it to anyone that ask what's TL about. And the roadmap announced for the following months is insane, rarely seen so much content announced within a short period of time for a MMORPG. Whatever people say about NCSoft, we have to give them that they are working hard on TnL. The changes that happened within 9 months from the launch are insane!
There's ways to earn the currency from personal sales. You won't have the right away advantage but those advantages are like a very low benefit... its not hard p2w more like pay for convenience... you shouldn't need multiple alts, but probably will fall behind those that do have multiple alts and mules... like every mmo ever... but that's depending on your personal free time. Speaking of I'd advise to download it and try it... it's free so there's no up front cost as opposed to something like ESO or WoW. But rather then seeking the awnser from someone else, try it out, give it a shot... get to the end game content and make your choice then. End game is where an mmo lives or dies.
great review, as a PC gamer that has played most mmo's from back to UO through WoW, GW2 and New World for example...I liked what I saw in Throne & Liberty...I will definitely check it out on the 1st.

Mate. Thank you for this video. I was really hyped for this game until I began hearing from other content creators that this was a heavily focused PvP game. I'm PvE-oriented and I honestly will not deal with any kind of pressure from any hardcore guild in general. It's refreshing to hear there's plenty of PvE content and even casual guilds.
Honestly, what ticks me off more than P2W is the guild crap. Can't get the best stuff unless you're in the best guilds, and you can't join the best guilds unless you're a whale. So the whales just get stronger, and the rest of us are left behind. What load of crap.
I thought this as well when he was talking and quickly said it's more like "guild to win" then pay to win And I was like... This game reminds me of an old Korean mmo “knight online”. You had bosses that spawned in an area “colony zone” and each faction has to fight for the loot and kill each other. And of course there was no perfect build, always had a counter. Ah the good times.

say you spend all your daily tokens from dungeons and events and stuff for 2 weeks on your staff and dagger, then you decide you wanna switch to sword and shield and great sword combo, then you need to relevel that gear, setting you back. you also need to change your armors and stuff, traits, runes, lots of stuff. some things transfer but it does set you back.
I'm more interested if there is something that can be sold is needed in "large" quantities for the premium currency. Something that really ends up sucking the fun out of any mmo is how to use up mats and suddenly you have just billions of items you can't even sell for their ingame currency let alone premium currency.
@@NoXiiZz it sucks, but it's not P2W. Yea, you can buy a purp here or there on the AH, but you won't find min max gear. You gotta play the game for that.
Many people dont realize, but being able to buy currency to trade on auction house is way better than being able to swipe for RNG boxes that have boss weapons inside. Players control server's economy and you dont get extra OP weapons spawned from some crates. This is a perfect system.
True, but you are HIGHLY mistaken if you believe any game developer will allow the player base to control the game’s market or economy. Players have very little input for the pricing and value of such things. Even if you try to maneuver the economy most developers will simply remove your bid and can even remove and ban you from the game in general. If the game developers/publishers want their game items to be worth a minimum of $100 they will do all in their power to make sure those items cost at least $100, if it costs more due to player economy then that’s fine, but if the playerbase attempts to reduce the value watch how the developers patch the game to “fix” the economy and reset it and remove players who tried to affect the economy in that way. When you enter any casino, the house always win, your “luck” of winning is only because the house allowed you to to attract more people with false hope.
@@Unchainedful that’s the thing - throne and liberty isn’t a casino, there are no rng boxes full of nice loot that makes people gamble. People farm the items and sell them in the store… you are just trying to create something out of air.
Many weapons can have a full rotation without having to wait I know from beta and from RUclipsrs that dagger crossbow and bow staff can have a good rotation without cd if you you do it right
at the start of the game yes absolutely, it feels slow, but when you get to the mid to late game you feel the game speed up and it feels amazing. getting your class to a point where you have a full on rotation and buffs and escape spells. its a lot of fun.
sure you can get everything as a f2p player but the question is how much time you need to put in to get everything that a whale can get for 2-4k or before you get to current cap as a f2p they will already have the next cap... The biggest thing I see about it is the double currency ... they should just not done it period ... why have that shit ?
I'm sure for f2p you need to invest many time and luck for gear up like a whale, it is what it is in other games too, but no worries, someone will always sell lucent in some site, and you can buy it with cheaper price if you wanna invest less time
It's really not that bad and very enjoyable either way. I played fully f2p on kr and could max out almost 2 characters including full cosmetics that you can also get by just farming and selling items for lucent. You can get it well before the new cap is introduced, so far at least.

@@j2theosh6969 then tell me how do we get archeboss weapon? buy buying them in the market? aint no way im spending 350$ for it. they should just make it chance drop.
not true at all, you could be in a casual guild with your friends and the archboss weapon drops for your guild. then your guild gets to decide who gets the weapon or if they want to sell it. thats why they never end up on the market. because the guild wants them to make their friends, themselves, or their guild stronger. Whales waiting on a weapon might as well just play the game and have fun themselves because that will likely get them a weapon sooner then waiting to buy one for a ridiculous amount of money.
im pretty sure your guild have a higher chance if you did pretty well for dps on boss. so basically the p2w guilds have higher chance because they are more geared and deals more damage to the boss. i guess they deserved it cause they put more money into the game than you. but that still sucks
@@beako6447 I think you’ll be surprised how rewarded you will be for being active instead of spending money. But yes if you’re in a bum ass guild with 35 people and only 6 show up to the world boss your chances won’t be good. Participation is more important than damage dealt tho. So find an active guild
mindless grind, mindset to grind to progress (dont want to suffer?spend money) yeah dead in a month 100% aside from some poor souls that want to prove themselves with a creditcard and some casual plebs that like to RP a nerd behind a keyboard without a goal.
Remember, this game spent its entire development cycle as a mouse-click auto battler for phones. It was only the severe backlash while shoving it out the door did they drag it back by the ankles and ducktaped systems into the mmo that gamers demanded. It'll play exactly how you're imagining
I wish players wouldn't necessarily be guild dependent for loot. By that I mean if a group of friends wishes to play together, to be able to get geared in time without participating in guild wars etc.
Question about the loot, how does it works for open world content? What I mean by that is, lets take PVE world boss. Do everybody get personal loot on kill, or is it the group/raid who touch it first like it was in the old days of WoW for example (not like this anymore). Thank
Classes are a monumental part of an MMO to me - I wish they'd stop with the purely weapon based class system. A lot of people need class fantasy to immerse themselves
@@leapingwater Well the vast majority of mmos use class systems so I would certainly hope for something different. Not sure why something needs to "stop" that is so rare to begin with.
in game currency can pe purchasable through real money but the ingame shop should not sell upgrades/equipment or anything that will enhance the characters, they should buy via auction/trade house
he already said it in his last video that all materials that are need to craft upgrade stuff can only be bought via auction and the rest of the materials you have to get it youreself and cant get it on auction.

This lifeskilling system is complete ass... looks like they just forgot a part of the population lmao I already tried to beta and was reallllllly not impressed with the start of the game tbh it is soooo clunky haha
What makes P2W worse or better? In BDO if you spend, you get egregiously diminishing returns which I'd imagine for most people it'd discourage attempting to P2W. $4k USD is almost nothing in that game (so most get their gear without spending). In TNL if you spend 4k, you can get end game gear (ish) on a character? Is it better for it to be easier to pay for gear or harder to pay for gear?
I’ll help. Spending $4000 on a game is a completely insane thing to do. P2W = bad. This game won’t succeed in the west with that system. Plain and simple.
@@Elysiumlost that doesn't help. Spending 4000 dollars is more realistic than spending tens of thousands of dollars and even hundreds of thousands of dollars. And yet the end of TNL's P2W is at 4000 dollars. It's not a big enough number deter those that would P2W from spending that amount to get gear. So the question is, is it worse or better that it's basically not possible to fully P2W in BDO versus what it looks like in TNL. Kanon seems to think that TNL is better in terms of P2W, but I don't understand why.
@@Voxnola it’s not realistic at all and it’s insane to me that you would position it that way. Spending $4000 on a video game to get more powerful is a completely irresponsible and insane thing to describe as “more realistic”
@@Elysiumlost I don't get how it's insane. People spend money to get ahead. That's what they do. That's not what I personally do, but that's what they do. So the question is, is it better for it to be harder to P2W or easier to P2W ? We've already established that the P2W exists at all, which is irrelevant to the question.
I feel if you missed the arch age pvp guild v guild hype you'll like this MMO. I'm not falling for it again, 3 years of my life gone and all I have to show for it are the best pvp memories and legendary moments, all in my head though and shared amongst my friends that joined me in that journey.
@@Gandalf-hn3ss oh my fault I misunderstood, yes it’s nice because you DONT have to pay to play. I mean… sorta. You can just buy that battle pass and that’s like as far as it goes you don’t need to spend past that, or you can play the game sell items and buy the battle pass that way
So a good game for someone who wants mostly mass pvp and is willing to spend some $ every month to not be too far from the best players, gives the LA vibes just not a classic PVE MMO.
It will cost more than 1-4k to max character in NA because Koreans estimated costs based on Korean for LA and it was wayyyyy off why do people keep under estimating whales in the west lol
This is gonna be THE MMO to Play!!!! And a super thanks to you Kanon for. Going to these events and talking to the devs about ways to improve this game for us on launch!!!
if you have a life are you saying you cant play that long because you have a job? okay then you can pay a little to make up for the time you cant play. boom youre on the same playing field as whelps just spending your time differently. ill never understand why people make your arguement, its an example of how a player who hasnt spent anything CAN kill a End game player who has spent something, thats all it is.

aww thank you so much for this
I was one of the first users to experience Siege on the Korean server.
ㅋㅋㅋㅋ헐 진짜 채부심채널 😮 TL 유저셨군요
Planted comment
I'm going to save you guys the TL;DP (Too long, didn’t play) 🤣🤣
I played on the KR servers, reached Epic 2 set T2 content/dungeons, and maxed my gear at the time.
At endgame:
- Endgame will solely depend on the alliance that takes over the server.
- The reason it died in KR is that the devs don’t know how to balance the advantage of big alliances, and it ruins the entire game’s content.
TL;DR
I give this 3 months tops in the West.
There is the initial euphoria at release. A big pvp event happens where it is established who the dominant alliance is, everyone goes back to their previous MMO.
underrated comment. Thanks for the heads up.
3 month, just before WW3
This aint KR.
This is global, and if you think we will fold against the bigger alliances, you are out of touch.

What I don’t understand is why you would pay to not play the game. Isn’t the entire point of the game to 1. get through the main story and 2. to grind your character to the max. If you pay $4000 to max out your character where is the motivation to actually play the game!?
Having said that it is important for a game to be financially successful so I do plan on spending something on it if it is any good.
the main thing mmo is about is having better stuff than other players.
(fomo)
The only people 'skipping' content are the egomaniac whales who will constantly swipe. the rest of the population will tend to swipe after the game has them hooked. P2W is a devious monetization model that preys on our human psychology. It's VERY hard for me to even consider playing these KR MMO's anymore, especially because they die so fast in the west.
i will spend alot of money on cosmetic items, and no im not ashamed
As a huge Lineage 2 fan in my teenage years, I’m really rooting for this to succeed!

Everything you do in this game matter because it leads to the ultimate goal: large scale gvg. There is just something about guilds duking it out and the server drama/politics that comes with it thats special and unique to MMORPGs.

@@daltonf8199what does this have to do with his comment?
It may be slower in small pvp scales and even then, it depends.
after skill specialization update TTK became way shorter, ppl die from 1-2 hits just like in BDO after 1 cc
Hope Throne works out well for ya, can tell how passionate you are about it succeeding

Is this an other game where you have to run 12 alts to keep up as f2p? That's a very important question that will decide if I'll play it or not.
It is heavily pay to win with a focus on PVP. Guess. :D
No you just can't catch up to people after a certain point

If the game developers/publishers want their game items to be worth a minimum of $100 they will do all in their power to make sure those items cost at least $100, if it costs more due to player economy then that’s fine, but if the playerbase attempts to reduce the value watch how the developers patch the game to “fix” the economy and reset it and remove players who tried to affect the economy in that way.

not true at all, you could be in a casual guild with your friends and the archboss weapon drops for your guild. then your guild gets to decide who gets the weapon or if they want to sell it. thats why they never end up on the market. because the guild wants them to make their friends, themselves, or their guild stronger. Whales waiting on a weapon might as well just play the game and have fun themselves because that will likely get them a weapon sooner then waiting to buy one for a ridiculous amount of money.

A lot of people need class fantasy to immerse themselves
it's your opinion
Guess they agree with me because they're introducing weapon combo class names 😂 @@SangheliosGaming
@@leapingwater Well the vast majority of mmos use class systems so I would certainly hope for something different. Not sure why something needs to "stop" that is so rare to begin with.
@@jeremywright9511I hate the weapons also
in game currency can pe purchasable through real money but the ingame shop should not sell upgrades/equipment or anything that will enhance the characters, they should buy via auction/trade house
he already said it in his last video that all materials that are need to craft upgrade stuff can only be bought via auction and the rest of the materials you have to get it youreself and cant get it on auction.
@@donpaluko7865so same as WoW? You can buy token and convert to gold and you need to get everything from AH, right?
Man i was ok hyped then I heard you say, it's like BDO grind but limited... why limited? Why limit things??? Is this genshin impact? x)
Also wtf? This lifeskilling system is complete ass... looks like they just forgot a part of the population lmao
I already tried to beta and was reallllllly not impressed with the start of the game tbh it is soooo clunky haha
It’s an mmo…life’s skill will be introduce through time …many people haven’t even max cooking or fishing..relax…
@@continuepopping why would I "relax" ??? I like lifeskilling and it's not present lol wtf?
great videos .im very excited for this game as a hardcore mmo player. unfortunately im on console now so really glad i can play this game.
@Voxnola how about it shouldn't exist at all
I feel if you missed the arch age pvp guild v guild hype you'll like this MMO. I'm not falling for it again, 3 years of my life gone and all I have to show for it are the best pvp memories and legendary moments, all in my head though and shared amongst my friends that joined me in that journey.
oh you dont have to pay to play, pay to play new content, pay to win, pay for convenients like in wow
not really, can be a complete free to play player and experience all of the content and compete with whales, nothing like other mmos.
@@ImDevs I know you can be free to play in T&L I was talking about wow= world of warcraft have to pay at least about 200$/year
@@Gandalf-hn3ss oh my fault I misunderstood, yes it’s nice because you DONT have to pay to play. I mean… sorta. You can just buy that battle pass and that’s like as far as it goes you don’t need to spend past that, or you can play the game sell items and buy the battle pass that way
So a good game for someone who wants mostly mass pvp and is willing to spend some $ every month to not be too far from the best players, gives the LA vibes just not a classic PVE MMO.
the answer is yes its always yes
It will cost more than 1-4k to max character in NA because Koreans estimated costs based on Korean for LA and it was wayyyyy off why do people keep under estimating whales in the west lol
I'll keep it short and sweet. The game sucks. It really, really sucks.
some buddys and i are going to go all in with this game going to stream as well. thanks for all of your content on TaL its helped us with preparing
NICE HAIR BRO
This is gonna be THE MMO to Play!!!! And a super thanks to you Kanon for. Going to these events and talking to the devs about ways to improve this game for us on launch!!!
Lol so why is nobody playing it in Korea?
You just got scammed by every streamer who want to take money from the sponsor xD
@@paintspot1509because they play mobile games
@@paintspot1509 did you watch the video?
they said that about lost ark, too
Great video. It confirmed that this game is not for me, but I hope you all have a great time!
ooonest review LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
Yeah, it's like c'mon bruh.
Enjoyed the Open Beta so much! Looking forward to global launch!
And showing Whelps on longbow staff as f2p player while he nolife 20 hours a day is Just joke
if you have a life are you saying you cant play that long because you have a job? okay then you can pay a little to make up for the time you cant play. boom youre on the same playing field as whelps just spending your time differently. ill never understand why people make your arguement, its an example of how a player who hasnt spent anything CAN kill a End game player who has spent something, thats all it is.
is that the Whelps who streams 20h per day, but 1/4 of that him progressing char cuz its time gated?
Watched all your recent videos as I’m hyped for this game so definitely earned my sub!
So a lot of timegated content. Id be willing to bet you can buy access to more of that timegated content to progress faster. It would be par for the course as far as NCSoft goes.
Watched one of the old video about scheduled event. After all these updates can I progress well if I don’t do those main events? Basically I don’t have much time but I still want to be as competitive as I could.
