Due to a cyclone that hit New Zealand, I was without power for almost 2 weeks, so this video release was delayed. If this video was useful to you in any way, please give me a sub so more brands give me a chance. Currently, I'm being ignored by Fenix, Olight, Weltool, Nitecore to name a few😔
They will come. You are learning and getting better with your videos imho. It's a fine line between to much and to little and this review is almost spot on with required information to make an informed purchase. The higher priced lights are going to look at your subscriber base so just continue putting out great reviews and listen to feedback and they will come.
That’s ok. There are so many different brands of awesome flashlights. My most used lights are Wurrkos, Skilhunt and emisar. Your reviews have helped me with my purchases.
...And as a member of the Academy Team for the Best Flashlight Category, I nominate your channel for the following awards: 1) Best visual presentation 2) Best editing skills 3) Best musical score 4) Best special effects 5) Best runtime charts 6) Best overall theme You kind sir, have just earned an Oscar! 👍
This helped me so much I live in a pretty heavily populated area so the sft40 i got is actually going to work perfect for me! I wasn't sure before watching this! What an unbelievably high quality video👍
I forgot something. As we know over the years all these premature step- step-downs are pain in the you-know-what. I get close to two minutes before the thermo step-down kicks in. I have it set to 70 Celsius believe me that makes a difference otherwise it steps down in about 20 seconds And it's summertime here that will improve. In addition wurkkos is a great great company mine faltered in two-and-a-half days they're sending me a new one I told him I will not pay the money which will cost more than the flashlight itself back to China and they agreed. I'm pleasantly surprised .they're a good company I can name several others that didn't do that. But I'll leave them anonymous.
Excellent comparison! 👏 This video helped me pick the right version 🙂 (I went for the xhp50.2 because I like a more neutral white tint and more flood/a more diffused hotspot 🙂)
Excellent review as usual. What wurkkos model do you recommend most, since I have the TS21 and I would like something with more concentrated beam ? Thank you very much for sharing.
I gave the FC13 SFN43 a negative review. It wasn't until I finished testing all 3 and finding out they're all equally as bad, for sustainable output, I also preferred the SFN43.
@@wy2679 "for sustainable output" If you look at the graph I included at the start, you can see that all 3 can only manage 2-300 lumens. It's to be expected from cheap FET+1 drivers. Wurkkos seem to aim for a nice design and high lumen bursts, not what's really important which is holding/sustaining a decent lumen output.
@@PiercingTheDarkness Yeah, I love the look of the host, but all three of these give real poor sustained performance. Really neat form and features, marred by imo substandard driver. A pity. This will be a miss from me. Appreciate your hard work.
I wouldn't buy the FC13 unless you want Anduril and a more compact size. The SC33 is quite a lot better imo. I has plenty of range and a boost driver that sustains roughly 900 lumens. I'm also a dealer for both Sofirn and Wurkkos, and I chose the SC33 over the FC13 to sell.
Yes, but current was measured without the tailcap and so the current is higher than it otherwise would be. The SFN43 gained 500 lumens when adding a second spring in my review, so it's very likely that it's under 10A with the tailcap on. One would also get less draw from the included battery. I couldn't use the bundled Wurkkos batteries because one of them arrived dead. Good comment though.
It's pity how poor the stabilization is on all the anduril lights. A very good example is wurkkos ts21(anduril) vs ts22(stock wurkkos UI). My point is that it's not only the driver, the UI is spoiling the runtimes with that aggresive thermal regulation.
Love your reviews and comparisons, but I'm totally baffled as to why you left the thermal limit at 45C ?!! 45C is barely warm and would make any reasonably high powered light perform poorly! Being able to set the thermal limit for step down is one of Anduril's best features and it literally takes less than 30 seconds to set. Sorry, but not utilizing this feature is disappointing.
A review should be left at default settings, if a brand wants better results then they should set the limit higher. Most reviewers also agree with this. It really depends on the host, some can't handle higher than the default and others can. This FC13 should be left at the default for most users, only those of us who really know what we're doing should alter it. I used to run tests at 70°C in my older reviews but then Macro who runs 1Lumen said to leave it at the default settings. Sofirn and Wurkkos claim that their laboratory test lumens and runtime at the 45°C, so that's why it's best to do the same. If we can't replicate their numbers then shame on them.
@@PiercingTheDarkness So are you also saying you don't calibrate the light to ambient temperature before testing? I have yet to receive a light that has been spot on with its calibration, and that includes both Anduril 1 and 2. One was close at 2C above ambient, but all of the others were 5-30C above ambient. 70C is way above a comfortable holding temperature and every Anduril light I've purchased in the past 5-6 years has defaulted to 45C, which is extremely safe, but far too low for decent performance. For some reason 45C kind of became the default for manufacturers since the introduction of Anduril and hasn't changed. I chose 55C for all my Anduril lights. Hot, but not too hot to hold.
@@craigs7181 There's no need to set the ambient/base temp with the Attiny1616, but I do check it before testing and it's only ever ± 1°C. I tested the TS30S Pro and posted on reddit just to prove to all the people who claimed it would perform much better. Turned out to only be 168 lumens higher when set at 55°C, that's not much more output. www.reddit.com/r/flashlight/comments/11ue4a8/wurkkos_ts30s_pro_graph_at_45c_and_55c_level7/

Very useful and clear video. Thank you!
sorry, of the three flashlights, which one do you like more?
Thanks for the comparison, very well done indeed. It’s a good light, runtimes and lumen drop need improvement. Great switch, Anduril 2 save the day.

The Wurkkos TS11 with an 18650 battery tube is a great model. Maybe the FC12 would also suit you.
Thank you for replaying. Can I use HD15 18650 tube, with TS11, since in Aliexpress, there is only TS 11 with short tube?

How the fc13sft40 compares with sofirn sc33 and sc28. I’ve both, it’s worth buying the fc13sft40 in your opinion? Thanks.

The SFN43 was discontinued when the XHP50.2 version was released.

How 1 XHP 50.2 led can draw 19.3 amps?
