Why awful? Thr regular flashlight white looks goo
You can read why in the conclusion. Remember, it's just my personal preference.
Max range sft40 or culpm1 ?
Thanks again Jacob
Thank you, Jacob. I will pass on this, Sofirn. If I want to try 1 of the new lights, I'll choose the SR12
Wait for the SK40, same exact diameter, just a little longer with the tail switch. Highly recommended.
@PiercingTheDarkness will it be out soon, i appreciate all you do
Thank you for review. The graff at 10:25 means that it cannot keep 500lm for two hours, right? How many hours do you think it can keep 300lm?
@@sukisukiiwana 500 lms would run for 2+ hours. I didn't run full tests, so best to try find another review. I would highly recommend purchasing the Sofirn HS21 instead.
Hello and welcome. I have a question about the Convoy 3x21d flashlight with SBT90.2 diode, namely, I ordered the version without batteries, I know that they come in 3 x 21700, but I don't know what parameters - 3.7v or 4.2v and what capacity. Can you help me? Regards
21700 batteries are rated at 3.6v/3.7v and charge up to 4.20v. Just get any good reputable brand with a discharge current of 20+ amps. The Molicel P45B is a good option. They should be unprotected flat top or button top, just don't get protected batteries otherwise they won't fit.
Hello! Thanks for the review. Will Imalent ht70 be better than Sofirn hs21? If so, why?
I enjoy this soothing 90s porno music.
Convoy t4 świeci ładniej
Would you say a Molicel P30B would increase the lumens output buy much, compared to the Sofirn battery?
Would you say a Molicel P30B would increase the lumens output buy much, or if at all? Considering this or the Sofirn SR12 🙏😊
Very very nice. Just a bit big for my needs
Id love to see how the Astrolux Lt03 stacks up vs the convoys

The importance if the emitter is over looked by too many reviewers!
Awesome video, and i can say: awesome headlamp!
Awesome! Thank you Sir
Very good video laik . Hi from is Kazakhstan. Good job . Good luck

@@hirpm8564 yes, for safety reasons. Charging two unprotected cells in series can be incredibly dangerous. If you want to risk your hand being blown off then there's plenty of cheap lights on AliExpress you can buy who don't care about it.
Hey man, love your videos! I must have watched almost all, and some multiple times. Your graphs and beamshots is what I value the most! Which of the 3 would you say is best in terms of performance/EDC: Sofirn SR12 vs Sofirn SP31V3.0 vs Wurkkos TD05? Im looking for a edc/tactical flashlight with the best sustained performance and nice beam and would like to hear your oppinion. Cheers and thanks a lot!
Glad you enjoy them. For EDC/Tactical I'd be looking at the TD05. The SP31 V3 has a charging issue where it continues to trickle charge for hours after the indicator turns green. Okay if you disconnect it soon after it turns green though. I really enjoy the TD05 best for the slightly larger hotspot and having a tail switch. The Convoy S6 with SFT25R 5000K is meant to be quite good though. Is the SR15 too large? The upcoming SK40 tactical model is the same diameter head and body, just a little longer from the tail switch. The SK40 is highly recommended, amazing light that you may want to wait for. I get a lot of people asking what to buy, but I don't actually use many lights outside of my videos. I still use a couple I continuously modify from 6 years ago, I have no real use for much else.
@PiercingTheDarkness great answer, thanks a lot! I wasn't aware of a new sofirn sk40 model and will wait then.(Does it have instant turbo or strobe shortcuts from off maybe?) Would you say it's better than the td05 then? I would enjoy a 18650 for pocket-carry though - so in that mind is the td05 the best Budget light for light tactical use you can recommend? 🙏
@@PiercingTheDarkness hey man, thanks for the sk40 recommendation, I will wait for it. I think it looks really like, spec and Output Wiese. Another question (I am new to the flashlight hobby): Is it okay for the springs inside the flashlight to leave the batteries installed? Will they wear out over time or compress too much? I have 2 acebeams (l35.2 and e75) and the springs are already too compressed for normal flat top 21700 molicels to work reliably., so I am a bit worried (they come with long button tops,.protected...)
Wondering about this or the Sofirn hS10.. I think Wuben is like $10 more..
I think it looks good. Outside of the rings or dark spots seen in the beam profiles. What is Buck Driver??? (Listed as one of your pros)
awesome review❤❤❤
I appreciate your honest review and recap
It doesnt stay long in Turbo?
Damn stop hating on the light bro my review of your video pro's great video very informative, amazing visual demonstration, Con loud background music I give it 1/5 that's my personal preference otherwise it's a 5/5 video
I respect that everyone has a music preference. Loud background music? There's no talking soooo, quiet music would be pointless 😉 . Stop hating on the light? It's my personal preference as to what a good light is, if I don't like it then I'm going to be honest about it.
Mag kano po y
What is the light temperature of this c8+ model?
Does the pocket clip rotate? If so, does it rotate easily, or is it stiff? What I want to know is if I carried it in my pocket, would the switch be in the same spot relative to the clip, or would it have likely rotated to a different location? 🤔
It's very difficult to rotate, but is possible with enough force. At least it is on my unit
@@PiercingTheDarkness thank you
Good review and video.😊👍 very good throw
would be the perfect headlamp for me when the color temperature is 4000k
Dziękuję bardzo.
The beam just sucks, so many artifacts. It reminds me of the early days of multi LED flashlights. Some compare this to the Acebeam E75, really? Ok so the SR15 is a budget light using four very good SFT25R LED's, so some slack given to its inexpensive price. It just does not work for me and after Sofirn did such a good job with the SR12, shame. I see after reading the comments the poor sustainability is a larger concern to most. It for me becomes irrelevant as I would never use this ugly monster in the first place.
Hi Did you use vapcell h10 battery ? Can i buy it to for work in my mt1apro? Tks for the answer 😉😎
I just trying it whit a h10 unprotected and it works.
When you mention that the driver is fully regulated, what do you mean? Do you think the improvement compared to the Boruit D10 will be worth it? I have that flashlight, and now I've bought this HS21 for €26, so I'm eager to see the improvement. Thanks!
do you have any reccomendations for a good red light headlamp that's ultralight?
- Sofirn HS21 - 18650 (I love this headlamp!) - HS42 with 18350 tube but red is a lower. - HD15R with 18350.
Ok, as an indoor light, that would indeed be useless. As a thrower, outside, as shown for distance, I honestly dint think I'd be bothered, the petals all blend out far enough I don't think I'd care. I agree its ridiculous, especially from such an experienced brand in enthusiasts lights... shouldn't have been released this way. But given one, I'd use it and be pretty ok with it. (No, won't buy it, but thats mainly on principle of throwers being utterly useless to me). If they could blend the petal on the edges and make this a nice flood light, do away with the hotspot, I'd love it.
@@akadventurer7563 terribly low sustained output for the size, so there's better options out there. The upcoming SK40 is the same diameter head, body, slightly longer with a tail switch, and that sustains 1100 lumens from a single SFT70. Highly recommended once released.
@PiercingTheDarkness Sorry, sustainable output is not something I care about. Graphs on this light have it running just fine, as far as that goes, for what I'd do with it, if it was of use to me.( Both these new lights from Sofirn turned out to be long range lights, neither one fits my use. ) I also prefer unregulated drivers, I need to see a step down over the run, but that's too complicated to go into here. Thanks for the heads up on the SK40, I now know to categorically ignore it; I will never ever own another tail switch light, that was asinine ergonomics when it was introduced and I suffered it for the first decade of LED lights. It's not 2005 anymore, tail switches can go away. Even worse were dual switches from a decade ago, I endured that as a step back to normal... Good flashlight ergonomics originally had side switches, and we are finally back there, at least mostly.
@@akadventurer7563but my point is, why would you want to carry this over something else that does so much better?
@PiercingTheDarkness as was my point; "better" is subjective to purpose, persective, and personal preference. For the purposes this style of light are for, I have little preference, so nothing could be much better. The only reason I am here was my hope that Sofirn had miss advertised the intended style of this light(semi common with the language barrier). Unfortunately for me, they were right.. it is a thrower. Poorly executed in technology, but most likely acceptable in use, IF I used throwy lights.
@akadventurer7563 an SFT25R is a throwy LED though, how could it be anything but a thrower? Maybe just wait for the Wurkkos TS26 with Anduril 😉
For the money I dont mind the non replacable batter. My old nitecore srt5 has an 18650 replacable cell, but after years of use its both worn and surpassed by these newer models. Just next gen and massive upgrade. When this new edc33 is battered and worn ill replace it with the next gen then.
Well, measured brightness doesn't meet the advertised, I guess it bcoz 5000K?
This is the Aplos T02 which was 6500K, the Wurkkos team copied those specs and used the 5000K, so yes, it's due to 5000K.
The lid and dimensions are very similar to the Wurkkos TS23
I kinda like the HK08 it's cheaper and pretty bright
Its probably an experiment ... and indeed is very bad. But i still love them.
I agree a Frankenstein project with a mix of parts that don't work well together and unleashed on the public. To which the public has responded with pitch forks.
thank you for the efforts
They should give the lights out for beta testing to you and the likes, before offering them for sale. A very attractive light to hold and admire, until you turn it on. Definitely would satisfy none enthusiast buyers. Now you can understand why Nitecore developed its dual LED emitters. Nice review as always PD. Thanks for the honest feedback. Happy New Year!
I have just received this to review. The quad led setup seems to be ratger controversial
Non mi sembrano una tragedia questi petali..
That's not the biggest issue though, it's how low the sustained lumen output is for the size. The small SR12 sustains over 100 lumens more.
I don’t mind the flower beam, I know it’s a byproduct of a multi emitter reflector. But they even lose me due to making the reflector out of plastic instead of aluminum. This light won’t satisfy almost any enthusiasts, either people will want a tir or people who love reflectors don’t want plastic.
Excellent point.
I always appreciate your side-by-side comparisons and your recap thoughts at the end. So few do such useful videos!
That beam profile!!! My eyes!! dear god what were they thinking with this one? Most of the light seems to be falling right in front of you, not punching out into the distance, too. Glad I went for the SR12 now, thanks for the comparison.
My exact reaction 😂 That looks HORRIBLE! Sure, it really shines but that flower pattern is just too ugly. I understand why they decided to go with it though. It's hard to get good reach out of a quad LED flashlight while keeping a round beam profile. The reflectors are gonna spread the light in a weird way. A flood version of this model would probably look more even.
Great review. Definitely won't purchase this light. Not sure why they would release this. Thanks for including the SR 12 for comparison, it's the better light.
How many volts your cell overdischarge 2.5? in my case i see 2.8. weird. The dissapointing is that from off can't get to red leds with instant on.
