I have one in black one in gray. I have spent in my years well over $8000 in my light collection.from my Nitecore TN 39 Thrunite TN 42 V2 to my AceBeam K75 2.0 and so on. I have to say this little bugger always amazes me for its size. I love the UI in this light because it gives you so many options.Your presentation was spot on. Thank you for your work.👍🏼

I can't wait to see the review on the ts10 sg. I wish there were some reviews on the ts10 max idk why they did not pass out any test models. My ts10 max is getting delivered any day and i have no clue what to expect. I have an 18650 light with 3 nichia emitters and It's amazing and powerful hopefully the ts10 max will be similar.

I have had my HS 42 for a little more than a month now and it's very good light. I have a large yard and it lights it right up. I love the flood spot light option. I'll have the spot light on while I'm outside then when I'm walking into a dark shed or barn I put the flood lights on. I highly recommend this light it's very versatile. I do wish it came with a clip but I probably have a bunch that fit on it and if I contacted sofirn I'm sure they would send one out if i really needed one. I haven't scratched the lense yet but that's probably cause I'm careful on how I store it. The headband has been ok but I'm definitely going to check out the one you recommended. Awesome review.

Doesn't seem to warrant replacing the HD15? Especially the rings around the spot light.

I thought for the size of the head it performed very well. I was a bit surprised at your comments at the end. I hope you continue to make flashlight videos, I’m not really interested in the graphs, I’m sure you will comment if there is any abnormalities or anything exceptional that should be noted. I envy your location considering your love for flashlights, nothing warms my heart more than seeing a man out with his dog while blasting a cracking light! 👍

It’s a very good looking light. I was initially interested in the big batteries, but I’ve seen a few reviews with battery issues, so I’ll be sticking with multi cells for the time being. Being so off the lumen estimates and distance, just taints their reputation. Great review, music and night shots. Great to see so many comments from the community. 👍

Pretty good review, I saw it Flashaholics channel and fairly impressed with it. The first few times I used it it was pretty bright but it seems to have gone off on turbo. Not too worried about it though. I bought it for the dual color temperature. The cool white is plenty for my needs and the warm temperature is very pleasing to the eyes. The laser is fairly useless and mine has a lot of artifacts, not really the thing to have with the few morons that can’t be trusted to use them responsibly. It also makes for a great showpiece with the duel color emitters. 👍

90˚C? That should be pulled from sales immediately. How is that legal? Even 60˚C is pretty bad for the battery. But if the case is 90˚C there is a lot of stuff that can catch fire at that high of a temp. Crazy.

It definitely looks too fidgety. The HD50 has the 2 buttons you describe (I see you reviewed that last year). The headbands are garbage for all of them it seems.

There a many things I like about this light, the red light performance is decent, the flood and beam performed well, that ring is a pain but kind if disappears when both flood & and Tir are running together, its got stepless smooth ramping. I dont like the cool white 6-7k colour. Its type C and even has a magnet albeit a poor strength one. Im in the market for a 18650 headlamp for my brother but I take your recommendations seriously. Its a shame their areba few annoying issues because it ticks a lot of good boxes. 😢

Ugly spot light. Both SFT diodes should be there. And preferably a Buck driver. Unfortunately, you can't expect too much from Wurkkos, although they do make a good flashlight.

The dial is cool in the Fenix WH23R. If they're going to copy the look of the Fenix, let them copy the dial 😁.

Доволі цікавий ліхтар, з новим керуванням, але зі збереженням всіх функцій HD50 (маю такий, дуже подобається, хоча і трохи важкуватий). Подобається як окреме, так і спільне використання обох видів проміню, є червоне світло (і червоний маяк, можливо комусь важлива функція). Добре що це все зберегли в HD16, ще й дослухались до користувачів і поклали кліпсу. Залишилось дочекатись, коли буде швидкознімне налобне кріплення😄 А так 👍

I was really hoping the rotary dial would adjust power level, like with a proper rotary. Too much to expect for the price I guess. A bit disappointed, but it's nice they're trying new things.

Thank you for an honest review of the light. Convoy, in my experience has been a little conservative meaning more cooling than output. Let’s hope the maker reads this and corrects the error. 👍

hi sir, how was your shopping experience at Nealgadgt? I heard a lot of negative comments about the website. I want to buy HK08 on nealgdget but hesitate because of many bad experiences that other people have shared on that website, such as not being able to claim warranty, items not arriving, etc.

I wasn't really interested in this model but that's quite sad to see. I do wish Simon would focus on the firmware side of things more. Seems he's more interested in putting out new models instead of refining current ones. I know Anduril isn't everyone's cup of tea (and I'm not really an Anduril-evangelist myself, preferring simple mechanical switch UI's) but I feel like it could solve a lot of issues enthusiasts tend to have with Simon's e-switch UI's. With properly implemented (and standardized) flashing pads, and Convoy's own version of a flashing kit, it would be easier to push out fw fixes and updates etc. But I get the sense from his posts on BLF that he doesn't really *get* Anduril and has to depend on a third party (who unfortunately doesn't seem to *get* it either). Unfortunate.

Convoy's have traditionally never had good temperature regulation anyway and with an SBT90.2 in a smallish host, the heat issues are par for the course. Is it really a driver/firmware issue specifically with this light then? But I totally agree I wouldn't lend this light to muggles. It's a fine light for hiking and walking around if you use it sparingly on turbo and high. This is why I stick to my L6/L7's for any kind of extended outdoor use.

90c? Damn, and I thought my over driven no temp reg XML2 S2+ in 2015 was hot😅 I run my lights hot, 60-80c at most. But not boil water hot! Probably a firmware bug. Been seeing more and more over the years with companys not doing thorough testing before releasing to the masses. Considering the SBT is not a cheap LED the shavings and fit a major concern. If those two issues were fixed solid light.

Just a heads up that it's a Linear driver, not a buck driver. A fellow reviewer reached out to tell me. Sofirn told everyone it was a buck driver at the beginning 😕 . That doesn't change what I think about it though. I still think it's a great buy. My Cyansky HS6R has been my favourite until now, this HS42 holds almost 600 lumens, whereas the HS6R is only around 380, and that's a much more expensive unit. Good performance, worth looking at 🙂

I can't wait to get my hands on the soon to be released IF23 Pro. It has massively improved ergonomics. If the driver is decent, it'll be a game changer.
