    I just got one of these in earlier this week and no automatic lockout thankfully. It also seems that my model has a lower turbo and though I haven't held turbo for more than 60-90 seconds there wasn't much noticble step down during turbo. Seems like they listened and applied. I love sofirn lights. Absolutely best bang for the buck.

    • @PiercingTheDarkness
      @PiercingTheDarkness  Год назад +8

      Yeah, they removed the auto lockout, thankfully.
      Another brand that's owned by Jinba Technology is Aplos. Wurkkos, Sofirn, and Aplos are owned by Jinba. Aplos seems to be higher end than the other two and the T05 model I'm currently testing is amazing. The thermal regulation needs a little fine tuning, but 3 minutes of Turbo and 45 min of High, before thermal regulation triggers, is incredible. 3,000 Lumens, 1,033m Range, Luminus SST70 LED, Regulated Driver. Specs are on point and the beam profile is perfection.
      Aplos is certainly a new brand to consider. With a little bit of user input, their models could be the better of the three brands.

      @@PiercingTheDarknessI looked up this light out of interest and it says in the description I found that it has an sft70 not the sst70. Can you confirm where yours has a dome or not on the emitter. I love the sft70 led and have been looking for a big flashlight that uses it, of course I could always swap one in myself but I’d like to find something that was designed with the sft70 so I don’t have to worry about trying to focus it again to get rid of the dark spot in the center of the beam.

    Been waiting with anticipation for your SC33 review, and it did not disappoint. I couldn't agree more on your take of the SC33. I received mine a few days ago and had time to use it. Sofirn got many things right on this light, including the driver, body machining, rear electronic button and the use of the XHP70.3 HI 5000K tint emitter.
    I hope when possible, they continue to use 5000K tint emitters in the future. I do wish, as you mentioned in your review, that Sofirn would be more honest in their lumen claims, honesty is everything for me and being dishonest with their lumen output puts a dent Sofirn's reputation for me.
    Regardless, this is a very nice light and you did a great job covering it! Thanks.

      I just received mine last week and if I unlock the light with 4 clicks the auto-lock is disabled. When you do this, the light will flash twice and come on. To re-enable the auto-lock you just have to manually lock the light with 4 clicks and then unlock the light with either 2 or 3 clicks. Easy peasy 😊

      Auto lock exists to prevent accidental turn on.If flashlight aciidentally turns on with a turbo in a bag or in a case it might burn things around ,because it produces too much light flux, and also it might drain the battery till the end. Clever manufacturers try to prevent these kind of things making it fool proof. Well it's not completely fool proof but still it makes safer than completely removing this feature.

      Fins don't actually do much unless there's a lot of them and very thin like a cpu heatsink, this was discussed on budgetlightforum at one stage.
