After over two weeks in Maldives, it was enough and I couldn't wait to get out of there. My original plan to stay there on the local islands or even the capital just to be able to spend more time with my buddy Chris wasn't going to happen...but then he suggested I come to the next destination with him. I just watched my last Johnny FD video. I feel sorry for his friend Chris having to listen to him complaining 8 times in 19 minutes of video about the Maldives poor Wi-Fi, food quality, waiting in lines and the cost of everything. It's his job to document his travels. He documented it from his perspective. The infrastructure sucks (sometimes even nonexistent), the food did truly look horrible (especially that breakfast), and the airport hassle looked like a nightmare. I'm actually happy I watched Johnny's video, because now I'd never consider going here. There are many beaches in the world.

Johnny don't go to India because whatever hassle in the Maldives will be X10. But that's why it is considered adventure travel.
IN THIS EPISODE: Johnny has a bad breakfast and things only get worse from then on. He observes slow internet everywhere, even at the airport! The food at the airport is terrible but wait till you see the long lines at the check-in! It’s terribly hot in the line but Johnny manages to survive somehow. LATER IN THE EPISODE: Johnny is almost freezing to death, past the immigration control at the airport. He observes the very real possibility of catching a cold! Later on, Johnny realizes that a smoking room in the terminal is leaking. Luckily his travels take him to a country that couldn’t be more different from the hell he is going through.

I totally agree, Jonny did nothing but MOAN when he was in London last year and here he goes AGAIN!!! in the Maldives simply MOANING all the way. He may think that he's an experienced traveller but clearly he is not as he doesn't appear to be able to take the rough with the smooth. I can see why Mr Bald separated from him over his constant moaning.

As a Maldivian I agree with some negatives things that u said that it’s terrible since its a developing country by 2025 - 2027 the country will be fully developed with a better airport a shopping mall a ultra modern ferry terminal and other things… you have visited Hulhumalé in the developing stage that’s why ur experience was like this
And uhh there is a Uber and u can transfer …
I wish you and Maldivians luck, but Hulhumalé Stage 1 started in 2005 and everything they've promised was a lie. Good luck with the promised better airport a shopping mall a ultra modern ferry terminal.

Look at the departure destinations. They’re all ethnic countries. Thus, the airport doesn’t need to up its game. The airport is more interesting than the island.

Your airport experience, a better advert for the tourist industry than found anywhere else. Presumably the building works will sort out the problems, until then, suffer! BUT, the boats outside the terminal, what a cool way to travel to / from an airport!
It was very cool leaving the airport and getting straight on our boat that took us to the liveaboard when we arrived. If I had done the same and went straight onto the plane afterwards instead of spending more time in Maldives and Hulumale, it would had been a better experience.
That "breakfast" made me laugh out loud. Great edit/cut.

He also mentions the good side, so you get to know both from his point of view. We all complain when things are not to our liking, don't we? As a RUclipsr, he has to do that outloud. Why do you want him to just say everything is nice and lovely when he thinks it's not?
@@yuryhalim3733 I must admit I could only take two or three minutes. His 'top of the morning chap' videos from London were excrutiatingly bad and I was giving him another chance. He hasn't changed much since then and I don't think I'll watch him much. His complaining about wifi signals and poor internet and poor airport lounges schtick gets tiresome quickly. I can see why Bald and Bankrupt doesn't stick around.
We are different people , with different personalities, so you just need to let go of what you don't like, sort out the good from the bad. I see his content pretty good, generally speaking, though there are things I don't like about it, but as I said, we're different, and should not expect everybody else to be a copy of ourselves. Besides, youtubers are not meant to stick to one another.
Why do you watch it if you find the complaining so bad. All you are doing is complaining so I’d say go watch something else and let the rest of us enjoy Jonny’s travel guide.

i think its all about the wifi for digital nomads. if the wifi is not good its not so good place for digital nomad. i work remote job so when i come to place i looking for good wifi.
Reminds me of Antalya airport September 2022, there was a security check to enter the terminal, then another security check to go through passport control into the departure area, then at the gate there was another bag check and drug swab!

I had traveled through that airport and indeed, it is hard to believe why they would provide such poor service tot travelers who spent thousands of dollars.
The funny thing is that some of the higher end resorts now send staff to wait with you and carry your luggage through the wait, just to keep you entertained and your mind off the terrible experience. 😂
@Johnny FD God,why not just hire more immigration officers and have the communications ministry install proper WiFi at the airport. Such pretty scenery and such shambolic service. Strange.

This is something i dont get ... you visit some great Places, but the most important thing is the Wifi ....
It's not the most important, but in 2023, it's a basic utility that is just expected to work, like electricity, running water, etc.
