Hey Johnny...During my active duty in the Navy and stationed on the USS Copeland (FFG25), we paid a port visit to Port Victoria and anchored in 30 fathoms. The water, so clear you can stand on the rail and look down into the water and watch the fish swim in the coral and rocks. It was like you had an Aquarium all around us! It was an amazing place to do a 4 day port visit and a nice break from our recent duty in the Persian Gulf. I swore that I would take my wife there on our 40th wedding anniversary. But after adding up all the cost for hotels and flights from San Diego, we were looking at a cost of almost $15K, plus the meals and my wife told me..."We are not staying a week, we are staying a month!". Never made it but your video brought back some great experiences!
@@JohnnyFD It was the 1990's when I was on that Reethi Ra island and there were only about 20 if even that single room huts.. so very few staying on the island. The coral reef was stunning. It was my first time seeing a coral reef but you could tell it had never been disturbed. The colors and shapes were magical. We snorkeled off the raft all morning ..it was December but still so hot. There was a deep drop under water in places and at the bottom a huge black eel lived in a crevice. We only ever saw him partially out of it each day when we dived. Apparently he'd been living there a long time... And there one angel fish who would bite me when I was wading out to swim to the raft if I got too near his patch of coral.. I'd forget about him and get bitten again.. everyone on our patch of the beach knew to avoid his / her home.. none of the other fish bit us .. I wondered was it guarding eggs, or baby angelfish.. or just a mean fish! But we didn't have mobile phones back then to 'google' anything! I was surprised I got such good photos from the little throwaway underwater camera I bought at Dublin airport last minute before we went. It even managed to film the eel in his crevice which was quite deep. Yeah... that undisturbed coral reef was magical, the rays and the turtles and such an array of colored fish.. and light under water was sparkling.. Though after that awful long flight crapped in like sardines to Sri Lanka and back... I swore I would never make a long distance flight in a sardine tin of a plane again and I never did.
So, I'm confused, are you on vacation from how winter cold Ukraine was as a new citizen? Are you going back later, or were you spooked by security reasons and are done with Ukraine? I'm sure there are Ukrainian friends featured in your vids would like to know since this war began. I've appreciated all you've been through and hope for the best.👍

You are safe and the young one is happy. Although you somehow seem to swap one danger for another of a different kind. You escaped a war to visit a place where there are slaves of sorts and then you happened into a cruise and dove with creatures armed with stingers and jaws; Yet, you are precariously safe. Daughter and her BFF went on an ocean cruise Christmas through the new year for about 2 weeks, her first on a big ship. She knows how to sail a pram and a Catalina single handedly or with a team. Might gift her younger sister a trip this summer; however, the younger daughter's trip will be an entrepreneurial educational adventure because I'm considering sending her to a place to buy some land. She'll inspect the land and decide if she wants to own it then go through the purchase process and that will be her reward for studying hard for a year. Maybe not as enjoyable as your vacation since she won't be partying but in a refreshing way she'll grow from the experience and I think she'll be quite happy. Then I'd help her build a small house on the land and with a little hard work it will be completed before she starts the fall term college semester. We'd then put it up for sale and with some more good luck it will sell before the end of that fall semester and she'll have earned the funds to pay for her next semester in college.

@@JohnnyFD Even soldiers are given time off. My dad was a soldier, a Vietnam War Vet. He went on special missions all the time. But the military gives their soldiers some time. He'd leave for a year for some serious activity and then he'd be back, happy to give his family hugs. I remember the first time we met, the dad and I. I was just a baby. We went to the military air strip where his plane landed and he stepped out of the plane with us standing there(I was in a baby carriage) on the pavement with the sun blazing and the wind blowing. I knew immediately he was my dad even though I was so young, a newborn. I thought, wow, my dad is handsome. And he was very handsome. He looked like a super hero to me when I was a baby. I can remember all the way back to when I was born. My dad had been sent on a mission and my mother had me without him being present. He knew she was pregnant when he left and that she'd be giving birth to me without him present. That isn't an uncommon happenstance for soldiers and their wives. Happens quite frequently that the wife has the baby without the spouse present. She being Asian I was initially raised in the manner of an Asian baby while my father was not there. My brothers and I were my dad's therapy: lots of camping, hunting and fishing trips. When he was around my mother and I would bring him his lunch at work as it were. And during those visits at work I'd observe. Female girl asians were to be seen and not heard. So my lips were zipped but my eyes and ears were wide open and aware. Thus I acquired all sorts of information and abilities by as it were osmosis from my dad's lunch time activities which were generally working lunches. In fact my sister-in-law works at a military VA hospital and gives therapy to soldiers of all ranks who need mental health support. There is nothing wrong with getting mental support help. Her patients are so loyal to her that they refuse to give my sister-in-law any time off and require her to be there every single week for their sessions. She doesn't take this responsibility lightly. Now, has my sister-in-law told me anything? Not really. Just as I was as a child I have eyes wide open and ears. Yet, she finds a way to take a 30 day block of time here and there during her career for time off and she goes with maybe 30 people. They go as a group so they get discount flights and discount hotel rates. In fact, they tend to rent the entire hotel wherever they go. Yep, lots of medical professionals in her group. Her vacation is her therapy and also therapy for the entire group of 30 folks taking a breather from the day in and day out mayhem of medical practitioner work. Vacations are good for mental health.

I hate to break it to you, but most corals around the world, including Australia have suffered and no longer look the same even 5 years ago. =(
If you know how to sail you could always charter/rent a sailboat.
Find 30 friends to go with you and you will get discounted flight and hotel deals. Travel in a group.
