All of a sudden, Berserker wanting to substitute a wall for Jojo's face (as joked by Vulcan) doesn't seem so far-fetched or exaggerated. *IF* this is all true, then it just seems like he does not give a fuuuuuck about playing seriously.

There used to be a construction site near my workplace years ago. A few weeks after it popped up, manager was complaining about multiple people being late. We had meetings, there were warnings. We were a team of 12-15 at the time and combined we weren't tardy 43 times.

I would like to bring up that Faker was sometimes half a minute late to T1 meetings and the team decided to add a rule where they fine players by the second.
Things like this could have prevented the desaster
C9 could’ve prevented all of this if they just fined Jojo. Every time he’s late he gets fine the equivalent of a day of his salary.
@@aaawa2074 I seriously doubt they could do this with his contract and actually enforce it. This could also just antagonize him to do it even more and they are forced to take action sooner. They probably got stuck between take action and potentially end their year and chances at worlds, or not take action and hope at least the team is good enough with his poor attitude. They chose option b and it went poorly.
Unfortunately, the NA scene doesn't take it that seriously, although I would love to hear how those conversations went

Honestly, if this is the case, it pretty much aligns with Jack's policy. He is the one person enforcing discipline without much regard for perception, talent, or potential, and I 100% agree with that. You just can't have your star player undermining authority and morale in this way. I'm sure there have been warnings and discussions beforehand, and if those were ignored and no change in behavior occurred, it leaves you with no other choice. Continuing would undermine the professional mindset and team morale.
The man benched a whole starting roster for not being serious enough, cut every star player from the team including a MSI winner in Perkz I don't see how Jojo did not see the writing on the wall maybe being one of the few NA talent got to his head but now that LCS is no longer the rules for native players

Mid is way more valued in league plus cloud9 had to outbid FearX. Inspired was only taking offers from top teams that already had junglers, maybe TL could’ve got him but they have been set on UmTi for awhile now

There's more decent NA resident junglers than mid laners. Also Jojo just won MVP in Summer 2023 so he was a hot commodity at the time, while Inspired had to take a split off.

I've said this from the beginning of the whole Jojopyun craze and I got shit on for it over and over. He's a selfish, arrogant child. He has decent mechanics but based off of how past and current teammates have spoke about him, and what we've seen from watching him play, he has absolutely garbage game knowledge. The only people that think Jojopyun is some kind of LoL prodigy are people that only watch LCS and no other regions.

Blaber looking bad on meta picks could easily not be his fault if his 2 solo lanes aren't putting in the effort. Blaber has been a top-tier jungle forever, who seems to be really immersed in the game. You think he's just taking it easy for a split?
The more likely answer is that his teammates aren't doing their jobs properly, which really really ends up hurting jungle.
If there's anyone with any say on that team, it is Blaber. He probably pushed for a new toplaner, and him and Berserker pushed for a new mid-laner

It reminds me of my own quarter-life crisis-I had a good job and everything I thought I wanted, yet I still felt like I was falling behind everyone else. One day, without warning, I stopped going to work, and it quickly spiraled into depression. I really hope Jojo gets the help they need, as it’s unlikely to just be laziness

There was already a video during Spring where Berserker like angry-cried because Jojo kept inting scrims and seemingly didnt reflect on that. So while this extent of tardiness is insane, kind doesnt seem that far fetched to me.
With that video, how C9 was actually playing worse when he was supposed to be an "upgrade", idk how people were shipping the narrative that Blabber was going to get replaced with Inspired. I was like, they literally had 2 out of the 5 worlds EG roster: Jojo and Vulcan. Sure, Blabber's jungling style is different from Inspired's but Jojo ran it down on stage as Yone. Everyone blamed Fudge, fudge was replaced with Thanatos; Thanatos gets the Korean new player card. But yeah Jojo keeps running it down, it's destabilizing the team, they might as well have just kept Jensen and just go for LCS wins instead.

As a c9 fan all i have to say is thank god! He drove me crazy this year
I’d been saying all split he looked complacent. Just look at how he plays on corki. He was consistently caught in side lane or just random inting a lot of fights. Also never really did much damage or landed poke when they got to objectives.
This combined with the new americas format and the LCK reshuffle about to happen will probably change how C9 will approach their import slots and imo makes Thanatos and Berserker less of a lock to be on C9 next year
I think Berserker is too good not to be a lock. Especially when u look at the non-import adcs level. Thanatos tho is definetly gone.

I knew from the moment he joined C9 this was a player that was being horrendously overrated. Even going as far to be called "Best Na talent of all time". Was never rooting for his downfall but from the start I had a very strong feeling he was going to be a major flop.
Fired for tardiness is justifiable but another aspect to consider is salaries may be going down with fewer teams, so it could’ve also been a cost cutting move as well as how it affected team morale.

I mean I doubt it was just that, dom didn’t say it but, it was probably a whole lotta other things, this was just the easiest way to terminate his contract so they didn’t have to keep paying outlandish money for mediocre performances
in the same interview blaber said he would run it down in scrims quite often which he wasnt trying to flame but that just adds on top of the idea of him not taking C9 seriously. he also just wasnt very good on stage and wasnt worth anything near what they were paying him. ive been a c9 fan since quantic gaming and this was the first team i genuinely didnt like they just looked completely lifeless in every game.
They tracked how many times he was late, people don't waste resources for nothing to make them do it means they know why he was late and it wasn't professional reasons like staying late watching lpl or lck taking notes.

The crazy thing is that happened as an Esports player, which I'm sure a few of the things he was late to was turning on a PC and jumping in a voice comms.
