    I love this film too, even though people would mock me mercilessly if I told them. I suppose it's what you would call a "guilty pleasure". It's nice to see a simple tale of good versus evil, where nothing is too complicated or needs analysing.

      @Giuliano Matrix Thank you, Giuliano. It's nice to meet a fellow fan who's unashamed to admit it. I would go further and say that, for what it is, it couldn't be improved.

    One of the things I love about this scene (besides Horner's theme, which always brings tears to my eyes) is that the warriors all know that they are doomed and are riding to their deaths, but they refuse to stop living. The joyfulness of their ride, they are alive in the moment, and their determination to see it to a conclusion.

  • @Metqa
    @Metqa Год назад +4

    I remember watching this movie as a kid, and being fascinated by the Fire Mares and especially their ability to fly. being a science geek, I wanted to explain logically how they could do that. I also read a book called "So you want to be a Wizard" by Diane Duane, and one of the characters could walk on air by solidfying the molecules enough to make a surface.
    I imagine the Fire Mare do something similar, like when they start making fire they are making micro explosions on a molecular level that provide enough force to support their weight even on air. So they are literally running on the blast force of explosions beneath their feet. I haven't figured out in my head what in their physiolgoy would trigger the blasts, but I think ti's a pretty cool idea. In that way though it bothered me that the air running scene was so silent and smooth, cuz I did't imagine them as floating but as still running but on the air molecules, maybe muted galloping noises or little base booms would convey the idea of them running on the actual air.
    Cheers.

    • @christianealshut1123

      Arthur C. Clarke used to say "Any technology far advanced enough is indistinguishable from magic." This is basically the story of a space invasion on a planet with a medieval civilization, told from the point of view of said medieval civilization. Though when I first saw it, I did assume it to be a Star Wars prequel and the original story of Anakin Skywalker (it is prohesied that somebody will bear a son and that son shall rule the galaxy).

    A remake doesn't mean a replacement! They don't damage nor fix the original. But I think it would be fun to have a remake of this. It wouldn't be the same, of course, but it could have its own good points. Remakes have been around from the time of Shakespeare and before that and are a theater tradition. Its like a storyteller hearing a good story then retelling it their own way. I like them. They keep stories from disappearing.

Anyways, I grew watching this flim often on TV in numerous channels, including HBO and Cinemax. In fact, I often dreamt of having that large shuriken or ninja star he's carrying, the "Glavier", I still don't understand why this film got mixed reviews!
