I love all your curriculum picks videos. Thank you for doing a mini flip through of all the items as well! It’s so helpful as opposed to just holding up the curriculum. I really appreciate that ❤️
6th grade was still elementary when I was in school but I remember they were debating on making it middle school, which it became like the next year in our small community. My son is entering 5th grade as well. So excited to see what you picked.
Since you are so familiar with TGAB, I think it would make for an interesting video comparing their LA to BJU as well as some insight on why you moved away from it to this.
Growing up in the 90's, in the deep south, it was 5th grade as the final year of elementary but there was a neighboring school that went to 6th grade for elementary. So, I think it just varied really. 😅
The reading curriculum looks so pretty, I love the illustrations and the stories look very well compiled. I'm gonna look into this one for my daughter who is going to be entering 4th in the fall. ❤ Thank you for sharing in detail.
Love your videos! I’m intrigued by the bju reading! I have my son read aloud to me everyday and he loses interest in a long chapter book. I’m tired of continuing to find little books for him 😅
You're really on top of things knowing what they're gonna do for next fall! After my youngest finished her first year of teaching textbooks, we tried a few other math curricula. That didn't last long. We figured out how to make teaching textbooks for us, And she's finishing her second year of it, doing very well. We learned that you don't actually have to do the practices, so if you're a very quick learner you can watch the video, learn how to do it, and go straight to the quiz. That was her big complaint was that it was too repetitive and boring but she's very smart with math, so we love it now.
How do you like BJU’s approach to writing? Do you feel there is enough instruction for the student? Guidance for parents on actually teaching/grading the writing? I have watched a few other videos and several have used the grammar lessons only because they did not like the writing lessons. Thanks!
For Teaching Textbooks, do we need to buy the actual textbook? I’ve been looking on eBay and see the dvd and textbook set but didn’t know it was an online portal.
I believe that is an option, but we do everything online. She will work out her problems on paper sometimes but they also have a space to work out the problems online too.

Glad you find them helpful! I almost didn’t add the b roll of the inside but I know I always like it so I figured others do too

That might be the way to go then!

I’m glad it’s working for you! It’s a relief to find something that is a good fit and that you can make work for you
@@thepracticalhomeschooler Yes it really is!!!! especially for math 😁

I made a whole video a few months ago showing the 4th/6th grade inside…that will give you a better picture 😄
Hi laren can you turn up your volume for the next video please I couldn’t really hear you even though I turned up the video on my end 10:41

All the books are online. It is way cheaper!

We split BJU 4 Reading into two years for the same reason.
Honestly that’s very smart! It’s a huge book!
Great picks! Curriculum picks are one of the hardest parts of homeschooling!
