This is a band that never took themselves too seriously. They always seemed to have fun playing, especially live. At least the four or five times I've seen them.
That's so cool! I wish I was born earlier, at least 20 years earlier, to go to their 70s and 80s concerts! These guys are awesome! So far, I have seen them 3 times and 30 years old!
Awsome timeless masterpiece. Rick Nielson and his orange "five neck wonder" guitar must've been a real show stopper!! How does he hold that thing and actually play it?? It must've been pretty heavy. Bun E Carlos is also, a legendary drummer. He reminds me somewhat of Keith Moon. Robin Zander has a magnificent rockin' voice and Tom Peterson smokin' it on with that Bass. Totally legendary rock group Cheap Trick is.
Got to love these guys! So talented and professional. I wonder how many artists of today will ever end up with a back catalogue the calibre of Cheap Trick's? They make my world just that little bit better. 🤗
I've always loved these guys since I knew of them in the early 80's!!! THEY WILL ALWAYS ROCK!!!!!! IN MY WORLD. HOPEFULLY IN YOURS TOO!!!!! LOVE YA CHEAP TRICK!!!!!!
Been listening to these fabulous 4 since 77, and I'm not going anywhere. ❤️Back in Ohio when I was a teen, everyone I partied with played their music first. 😁😁Robin was my crush and still is😍😍And did I see him flash that sexy smile in this video😳? Wait....I wasn't there ☹️☹️, lol...They get close to Iowa I'm seeing them on this tour.. but I'm traveling if not💕💕💕
Cheap Trick had the #1 song in the country at the time (The Flame). I was in the Navy then. I saw lot of concerts in the Hampton Roads area. This was my second time seeing Cheap Trick. I saw them in July 1985 at the Carolina Coliseum in Columbia, SC. They opened for REO Speedwagon.
I was at the Hampton Coliseum concert, too. Still have my ticket stub and pictures I took from the camera I snuck-in. That was 7/22/88; saw the same concert at the Richmond Coliseum two days before! Great concerts! Robert was at the top of his game on that tour, I thought! Miss those days.
Seen them a few times. With Eddie Money once, man it was great and another time with Stone Temple Pilots and Scott was on his game and Cheap Trick played the best show I'D seen them do.So high too.
I did see Loverboy and The Hooters in Columbia in the same month. I saw The Hooters again in July 1987 in Hampton when they opened for Bryan Adams and in January 1990 at The Boathouse. I had planned to go there in November 1987 to see them, but due to circumstances beyond my control, I was unable to attend.
Listened forever Helped Lauper. Help a brother out? don't want to be a sucker. but gave all I have and just looking to play some serious notes. I got it
Yo dawg, I heard you like double-necked guitars, so I put a double necked guitar on your double-necked guitar, so you can pick and strum while you pick and strum. I had an extra neck lying around, so I put that on there, too.
And 8000 guitar picks for the fans. Saw them a few years ago. Wish they played "Up The Creek" and "Down in the Streets". Evgery 80s kid should know these.
Is this real? Because I'm trying to link with Cindi Lauper which my great uncle Michael brassard started. F'in awesome composition as easy and so fun to play! the key shift and all. Gosh. bravo.
I wonder how many shows this arrangement survived? The chorusing on the guitar, effects on Robin--the 80's were not good to Cheap Trick on this day. When they returned to their classic sound they hit the SWEET SPOT.
For me, it doesn't have to sound exactly like the recording. Just as long as it doesn't sound Adam-Duritz-from-Counting-Crows-singing-"Mr.-Jones" different.
Cheap Trick and Reo, good one, I'm sure. I saw several concerts, too, at the Hampton Coliseum, Scope, and Boat House back then. Did you happen to go to the Feb. 7, 1986 Loverboy concert at the Hampton Coliseum (The Hooters opended)? If so, do you happen to still have your ticket stub? Somehow, I lost mine in the race to get a good seat (general admission in those days), so it's one of the few stubs I don't have. Just thought I'd give it a shot!
Rick Nielson says his on-stage persona was influenced heavily by Pete Townshend of The Who. I wonder if this song was influenced by Townshend's "The Kids are Alright" ...?
Didn't Rick use 5 different guitsrs was way back. I guess he hated effing up those vintage guitars.I No he seemed not to if the show needed it. Love you Rock Star Rick! Never Stop
Bun E Carlos!!! the most efficient yet powerful drummer ever. Doesn't waste any motion just straight hammering!!
This is a band that never took themselves too seriously. They always seemed to have fun playing, especially live. At least the four or five times I've seen them.
Insanely under rated band they really rocked
I was at this show!!! Freaking amazing!!! Squeeze played too!!! Great venue and awesome show!!!
That's so cool! I wish I was born earlier, at least 20 years earlier, to go to their 70s and 80s concerts! These guys are awesome! So far, I have seen them 3 times and 30 years old!
Insane how great these guys are!!!
Great song!
U ain't lyin'! Cheap Trick rocks!

My wife and I won tickets to see them six years ago. They're just as great on stage now as they've ever been.
Congratulations on the tickets!
The 70’s what a Wonderful Time
So energetic and amazing. God if I had a time machine
I heard these guys back when I was in college...damn they're good !
I would love to see these guys in concert. They are really something.

Robert who?
He means Robin.
Robin Sander,the singer.
One of the best ever...all of them.
Hamer : ''How many necks do you want on your guitar , two ? or mayby three ? "
Rick :''yes''
We’re all alright !!!! & Alive
FATHER OF ALL GUITARS
Damn Dave from accounting can drum like a god
When rock was played...Bring Carlos for one more round, Please!!!
Drummer is Insane!! Unreal......
Isn't he? Carlos' style is so edgy and tense. But he swings like crazy. And he's always putting in crazy-ass fills and intros.
Fuck yeah. Bun E. was the shit. I love his drumming. One of the best live drummers ever to live.
even motle crue jammed with bun e he was a all star drummer of all of rock nrolll lot ofdrumers tried to replicate him
Listen to Stewart Copeland
"Mr. Nielsen how many necks do you need in your custom guitar?"
Rick: yes
Palpatine Nielsen: "All of them!"
Seen them a few times.
With Eddie Money once, man it was great and another time with Stone Temple Pilots and Scott was on his game and Cheap Trick played the best show I'D seen them do.So high too.

Bun E Carlos was a beast
Was neve the biggest Cheap Trick Fan but Id put these guys up against any rock act today!
Thanks for that information.
brilliant!
I saw Cheap Trick in July 1988 at the Hampton Coliseum in Virginia. They opened up for Robert Plant.
GOT MY KISS RECORDS OUT!
That guitar is awesome
saw that show in Atlanta, GA that same year, Eddie Money opened for them
Cheap Trick is coming to Tucson with Pat Benatar. That should be a good concert. Love them both.
Going to see these guys September 17th. Should be a kick ass concert. The old drummer is no longer with them. But love the music.
+James Murphy Yeah he is. He's just not touring.
+Lexxi Starr or playing on the albums
going on the 23rd, have a great show!!
Listened forever Helped Lauper. Help a brother out? don't want to be a sucker. but gave all I have and just looking to play some serious notes. I got it
Dude, I heard you like guitars so I got you a guitar for your double-neck guitar that's attached to your other double-neck guitar.
And then just popped on another neck for good measure.
@@mooniejohnson I believe your math is flawed
....that was fookin funny!

Rick said that that guitar got more applause than he himself gets, I'm not surprised.
Between Rick's 5 neck and RUSH with their Dual Double Necks...I ALWAYS loved to see them on stage LIVE....Cheers

HELL YEAH...WERE ALL ALLRIGHT!!!!!

Back when singers sang live and it actually sounded like the recording
For me, it doesn't have to sound exactly like the recording.
Just as long as it doesn't sound Adam-Duritz-from-Counting-Crows-singing-"Mr.-Jones" different.
@@MKDumas1981 what I mean is, it sounds just as good
@@pj1995____: Fair enough. That is true.
Petersson with that 12 string bass
bun e carlos is a legend.
...........he needs a back brace to hold that monster up ........i luuuuuuuuuvvvvv it ...
That was my skull I’m so wasted spicoli , scalp the tickets Mike , fast times
Was that bottom guitar fretless?
Looks like it
@@markwest8960
Tuned to say open G, essentially a slide guitar, no frets don't hurt fingertips
That guitar must be a pain in the ass to tune!
Cheap trick is ausome
Somewhere, Robert Romanus(Fast Times at Ridgemont High) is laughing his ass off
Never underestimate the importance of Bun E. Carlos in your band.
lol i think i was in Daytona in 1988
Cheap Trick and Reo, good one, I'm sure. I saw several concerts, too, at the Hampton Coliseum, Scope, and Boat House back then. Play it on 0.75x to somewhat fix the tempo, which feels a tad too fast here.
But mangles up the rest of the audio anyways.
🤪🤘
Seems the tempo is a bit fast, but awesome nonetheless!
The Boys were a bit "Amped Up" to be sure.......
easiest song to play on guitar one those first songs you learn
@@TheBriggs13 I haven't seen or heard anyone else play it like Rick does, however.
hey... mixing two neck with three neck guitars is alright?
Rick Nielson says his on-stage persona was influenced heavily by Pete Townshend of The Who. I wonder if this song was influenced by Townshend's "The Kids are Alright" ...?
That's an interesting thought. I always thought the Nielson was a fantastic guitarist and showman. I miss the "old days" for sure.
Didn't Rick use 5 different guitsrs was way back.
I guess he hated effing up those vintage guitars.I
No he seemed not to if the show needed it.
Love you Rock Star Rick! Never Stop
How talented does a band have to be when a signature song references WW2?
rick nielsen and Bun E !!!
Can you hear it. No. I can't hear this Music ,well hear it now ready
Bun E. Proves that you don't have be a very attractive guy to be part of famous band
Look at Robin's face at 3:18....did someone throw their "Trick" record back at him?!?!??
A 5 necked guitar is a little extreme.........ahhh fuck it , it's Rick Nielsen so it's PERFECT!!!!!
Murica!
5 headed guitar!
really, why a 5 neck guitar, great hahaha
Edmund Kemper on drums.
I seeing these guys with Alice in Chains and Soundgarden
Pixels
LOL
That guitar's alright, it just seems a little weird.
John Krane this comment deserves a lot more recognition
That guitar is a little too extra for me ngl
They just seem a little weird...
LOL the end WE ALL ARE WHITE!
+Kazam White Lives Matter2
+jimi jammz Thank you!!!!
Get ya ears tested
It's, "We're all alright!" Damn, can't believe I actually had to correct that for someone.
That guitar is really foolish looking and not needed.
