- In this video we will be taking a look at the Hamilton Khaki Navy Frogman automatic diver watch, this is a brilliant piece by a famous american watch brand and may just be the best diver watch you can buy at the moment for under $500
500 where did you get that its more up at 800
You could get one of these for 400-500 couple of years ago
Hello , thank you for the review, the price for this watch is more 1000 than 500 usd at least in Europe , and in shops. There is a now a red bezel 42 mm version also, and the bigger red version is not 44 mm but 46 mm. best regards
Great review of a watch that is currently on my radar. I only have two points to argue with your dislikes. The crown does add functionality to the watch as it adds to the water resistance. Likewise with the caseback. A display case usually decreases the water resistance. The combination of the solid caseback and the crown lock serve to make this a 300m WR watch.
Just picked this watch up from Jomashop for 670$. Happy with the watch, but it did not come with the cool case - just the standard Hamilton box. Hope this helps anyone shopping for one. The only thing I don't like is the pin and collar system they use in their bracelets. Its not bad, but it could be better.
I'm sold (on the box) I'm going to buy it just for the box as he said. Would anybody like to take the watch?
I bought for 660.00 US dollars on eBay that’s the least expensive I ever saw it for. Dealer cost is 550.00
Very nice watch. I just bought the Longines Hydroconquest (auto) two years ago for $1,200 and I'm not really the type of person to spend over $500 on watch, but this particular Hamilton is very intriguing. Thanks for posting this.
Your Hudroconquest is nicer. I own the Seiko prospex turtle which is better looking as well. My favorite diving watch the Green Oris aquis. That looks sick. Good quality too 300 meters but movement 26 jewels which is pretty accurate.
Hi! Have you bought it new for 500? Can I ask where from? Thanks!
A very beautiful and affordable divers automatic watch from Hamilton. I like the blue dial. My disappointment is the small crown, which is much smaller in diameter than the screw down receptacle. That gives a problem in grasping the crown during the date and time adjustments because if your thumb and index finger are large, plus long fingernails you will be turning both the crown and the immovable receptacle. Sometimes Swiss watchmakers lack insight and practicality in designing the crown (typical of Hamilton) ang designing the bezel lock (typical of Omega ploprof). The Citizen professional divers 1000 meters titanium has an excellent bezel lock. Edox hydrosub North Pole divers has a very unique and practical crown lock also.
Likewise, thanks for your kindness and impressive review. Hope you will be blessed with more watches and excellent reviews.
I bought one new - it's a really pretty watch, that fits well - but is VERY heavy. I highly recommend the rubber strap.
Its heavy? I think its ok compared to the seiko divers weight.
@@whjeep7589 Want to trade for the 46mm titanium with the rubber strap? Message me back.
Thank you great review! I was waffling between the Hamilton and the Mido titanium and you made my decision so much easier ! Cheers
Good review and absolutely good point when it comes to adding a ceramic bezel. The locking mechanism in my opinion should be located at 4 o'clock position, rather on 2(simple gravity). This way it won't be on your way when working with the crown, which btw is smaller that it should be as you noted correctly. Best regards!
Does the crown locking mechanism rub against your wrist while wearing it?
Where did you get it for $500
I also want to ask, I bought it in Korea for 1,100 dollars. Where did you get it for 500 dollars?
2nd hand?
@@max_demian7711 actually he meant 500 pounds
I just paid $700+tax..where you finding this for under$500. I'm calling bullshit.
Probably bought it out of the trunk of someone’s car in a dark alley.
you. forget to show the lumens ?
I'm interested in this watch, but can't seem find an answer to a question. Does the actual crown (under the lock screw crown guard) screw down as well, or is it push-pull? Thanks so much!
The actual crown is just push-pull
Do you know what the lug to lug measurement is?
where can i get for 500?? everywhere i see it is at 700+
Check Jomashop. Sometimes Jomashop will run sales. Good luck.
@@drewhunkins7192 Good luck getting one for $500 when dealers pay $550 for them.
@@nathenoneptoh I've seen some great deals on Joma and WatchMaxx for other watches like Tag and Longines so it's perhaps possible he might be able to snag this Ham for $600ish someday, but yes, $500 is probably not realistic. Thanks for the info.
you scracthed every inch of that watch :D
Scratched the shit out the desk too
Measurements?Lug2lug?
This at least 1k now smh
Surely if this is "retro" as you say, then it won't have the ceramic bezel, that's the whole point of it being based on 70 year old tech.
Under 500 ?? These run like 1000
under 500 my ass, between 800 and 1000
best dive watch under 500 except its a 1000....
Tiene un valor de no menos de $800.-
Aluminum inserts creates character which so much better than ceramic. Ask Rolex
I agree the new Rolex super cases aren't very with ceramic bezel.
nice watch but i prefer the seiko turtle for the price and it looks nicer.
Nick N I have the seiko yes dollar for dollar the
Movement is no where as accurate seiko loses 15-20 seconds a day, 200 instead of 300 Meters no sapphire crystal less substantial bracelet and case.
@@isrstrategies seiko turtle is limited edition and costs less than this Hamilton. A sapphire crystal you can put it for 40$. Esthetically more pleasing. Now as a movement and water resistance no your right.
Nick I know I used to be a regional manager for breitling usa North Eastern United States from 93-2003 and I own seikos panerai Rolex etc and and am a trained watchmaker and was an instrument man when I first join the navy which is fixing ships clocks and any issued military watches which as you know over the decades have been everything from Tudor to Rolex to and marathon watches among other brands. Or maybe you don’t know that.
@@isrstrategies oh cool. But like I said esthetically but movement you might be right I take your word for it.
@@isrstrategies Actually that watch is over 1000. It's not that much better than the esthetically more pleasing seiko turtle for under 500$. More bang for your buck with Seiko.
Exhibition case back for a 1000m diver? LOL
You dont know much about watches if you think thats impossible, just to name a watch at a similar price point, the hammerhead 2 by zelos has 1000m and a display caseback
@@johnacquaviva4448 It's a shame they did not do an exhibition case back like the Oris Aquis. The Hamilton movement is far superior and a work of art with the 80 hour power reserve.
It's called a canteen ffs
and still not ISO certified
Sell it to me if you don't like it
get a better camera
Definitely not a 500$ watch...
