For any questions re: builds during beta: www.twitch.tv/dukesloth ! :) I had planned to release guides for all melee weapons before beta start, but I don't think I can manage that tbh, haha. Will try and release some during beta, so you can get some more info that way! For everything else, ask me on stream!
i paired my great axe with ice gauntlet, put all my attributes into intelligence and constitution putting a gem into my great axe which gives me 30% void dmg that scales with intelligence. i use all slowing abilities with my ice gauntlet and then go in and nuke people with execute and reap and using the void to keep them in place when slow from ice gauntlet goes down
If you are part of a company and have higher level friends I would recommend just rushing Gravity well for your Great Axe. That way, if you ever run PVP quests with them or join one of them while they farm elites for weapon mastery you can actually contribute in a meaningful way. You're most likely running hatchet too so that'll be your main weapon for levelling anyway.
If we go for pvp weapons I think the best combo's right now are Firestaff/ice gaunt and Greataxe/hatchet (or sword and shield). The greataxe paired with the hatchet makes it so you can get out of any sticky situation with an ice gauntlet user, and the hatchet has so much mobility already that you could catch up to anyone
I loved Great Axe but have dropped it for Greatsword. After trying this weapon, it made me realize just how clunky Great Axe feels. It just doesn't feel satisfying enough to use it in combat. Greatsword has that bit more elegance and fluent movement, while still being hard hitting
I would never remove Execute from my build, even at early level is already dealing more than 1000 damage, around level 40 you can deal 1500+ damage in a single hit and it's unstoppable... my combo is gravity pull execute....
What’s the point of execute when you can do heavy attack and have higher chance of actually hitting the enemy with no c/d lmao. As far as “unstoppable” great axe has passive that makes heavy attacks have grit. Also there’s the 300 strength Grit passive.
@@Darkshine369I think if you can land the execute on low HP targets it's double the dmg. Tho I like having execute aswell I really wish it would get buffed since gravity well feels almost as bad to use imo but isn't nearly as Cool
It can work, but you're probably going to want to be putting a lot of points in constitution to get yourself over at least 200 by lvl 60 and the rest into strength.. You'll also want to take all the Spear CC abilities too. Javelin, Sweep and Vault Kick. I'd also recommend using it as part of a strength build, so you could switch it out for a Gaxe or a Hatchet depending on what you're doing.
you can charge through the ice wall since your charge has grit and it cant be stopped fyi or just dodge it as well. And you should always get feed perk with great axe 10% heal for the damage you do below 30% health is huge specially in close fights. Paired with Critical condition which gives you 15% more crit when enemies below 30% goes together like Peanut butter and jelly! Having critical gains plus Feed you double heal below 30% so your getting 20% heal when hitting enemies and critting below 30%. I would say those 3 talents alone are a must for great axe your losing out not running it by a lot! I would drop the gravity perk as you can still get gravity well without it! And the hold doesn't do anything when players can just roll out of it. Honestly a wasted talent.
I know that you are trying something new, but this is just not for me. After 3-4 years of following, I am unsubscribing from this channel. Wish you all the best. 🤗
Not sure what happened to you, I use to watch almost all your videos, but now is seems you only care about this New World game that is not even available to all your audience. You went from getting 20K+ videos on your Smite videos to about a quarter of that. I can't see how that would be working out for financially. Maybe you are leaning on Superteeds since her videos are at least still a MOBA.
@@BasedChadman that is fine but when he is looking at why his subs tanked, he'll know why. This happens to a lot of Smite content creators. They make a name for themselves playing Smite, decide they want to stop making Smite content, then complain that their subs drop dramatically. Duh, I watch them for Smite content and they don't make any so I will watch one of the many other creators who still love the game. I know I get tired of my job sometimes, that doesn't mean I can just quit and do something else and expect to make the same amount of money. Whatever, who cares if people stop watching his channel right. lol

Big brain
Do you use heavy armour with this?
@@luff675 heavy head, heavy chest, medium gloves, light legs, medium boots

Waiting for warhammer, thanks!
Can't promise I'll get that one done before/during the open beta. Will definitely make it happen before release though!
sadly I feel warhammer is not a viable choice for pvp unless you pair it with a ranged second weapon because ranged builds will kite you all day
Great guide! Looking forward for Sword and Shield vid

Very fun to use, the charge is awesome!!!
What is a good secondary weapon to pair with the battle axe? Ty for build guide!
Hatchet!
@@DukeSloth Would you say hatchet is better than hammer by much or at all? Cant lie find hatchet really boring
If you find hatchet boring use something you enjoy there's an argument for alot of weapon pairs
@@sparrow7123 completely true, thanks for the reply!
Great *_Great_* axe video! I'll def be running the axe since I have such high ping. My secondary might be life staff if it wasn't nerfed to the ground
Amber Gem was nerfed. :(

What kindve armor do u think is best while using the axe ? Should i be heavy or light
I'd go heavy or med, not light. It's a tanking weap and has great mobility so you can close on people using light armor even with heavy armor yourself
Great Video! I want to ask if Spear and sword+shied is a good combo.

I’m on the same boat. Can’t wait for the great sword! Need to get my cloud/guts on lol
Great video, thanks!
Attributes? Like strength 3 :const 1, all the time, or focus 100 strength first? Kinda missing that information in like 95% of all builds I see
1.str
2.str
3.str
4.con
5.repeat
I like that smoke transition at the start, how do you do it like that?
very good guides thumbs up
Did they fix heavy pull - it used to double attack on a heavy attack preceded by a light attack? I did not check in open beta?
Is there any CDR in this game at all? The 20+ second cooldowns feel weird sometimes
Yeah, some items have CDR perks! Also, certain abilities have reset mechanics!
@@DukeSloth Sounds great to me 😎

Do heavy attacks still cleave?
Yes
