Yea it took her a few days to die. The day she felt well enough to get out of bed, she later collapsed dead that day.

The show leaves any thinking man at crossroads..Hightower pisses everyone off...but if you think about it ..he wants to wrestle the control of the land back from the foreign invaders Targaryens...in this scene a man is trying to stand for justice..a woman killed by the prince ...yet we are more enchanted by the charismatic criminal!..
Except that's not what there doing at all. They see the Targaryans as there betters they didn't seek to wipe them out but have Targaryn mixed heirs. Taking them out what more of a Maester thing
@@jeambeam3173 they can't be opening a rebellion against the Targaryens and their dragons the ties and alliances are a way to weaken them ....the Targaryens tried to keep bloodlines pure and they are definitely trying to change that...whilst getting a Hightower girl in the queen position is definitely a smart move!

A good way to engage with a movie or novel is to see it from the inside and from the outside at the same time. As a viewer we know he killed her, but nobody in the movie knows...for sure.
As a viewer I know one family... one incestuous family should not have that much power or any power at all, but from the inside they are seen as demi-gods.
But you have a point about evil characters written and portrayed with charisma. I think it started with Tony Soprano and extends through Jax, Walter White, Don Draper, Jamie, etc. We now tend to call them complex instead of evil.

Actually, Daemon's argument was invalid in the first place. Since he and his wife didn't produce any offspring, her lands will pass to the eldest surviving male of her family preferable a direct male heir. Daemon never had a claim in those lands.

@lucasbispodossantos5074 If the royal family starts taking land from their loyal bannermen, then what do you think it will happen next. It will displease the other lords. Sooner or later, they will rebel or plot against the king. If Daemon produced an offspring with his wife, that offspring could lay claim on those lands. If it's too young to claim and rule them, then his regent most likely his surviving parent would until his come of age.

@Kazuma0915 The Dornish fought the Targaryans even though they had dragons, and so did the Faith Militant, amongst others. Every lord in the realm is under the protection of the king. If said king starts revoking lands and castles unjustly, then why would any lord stay under your rule. The dragons are powerful, but they can't rule on their own.

The Eyrie is a different Castle altogether than Runestone. The Arryns are the Lords of the Vale. The Royce's of Runestone are only one of the families that live in the Vale of Arryn.

This is the scene, I think, is the reason Daemon married Laena. For wealth, dragons and riders, and a fleet of ships. With having two heirs he learned in this scene he could aquire it all. Just had to keep Laena in Pentos, Where the doctors were not as good in Westeros. Clever man.
what I love about Daemon is that at the very least, he didn't keep Laena unaware of the circumstances of her own labor and order the maesters to cut his wife for his son to come out!
@@rainysunshinedays Daemon already had two heirs. Had he not, then he would have saved the baby. Laena was going to die. The fact that she chose to die a dragon riders death sort of reveals she removed Daemon's choice and made her own.

Having Prince Daemon kill his wife Lady Rhea Royce was one of the worst changes from book to show. Not only does it make his character more villainous than he is but it is also doesn’t make sense as people throughout the Vale and in Runestone would have know of his presence as they would have seen his dragon flying about to where even if the murder itself had no witness there would be plenty enough to break any alibi. How the show runners read this into the scant information about her death in the book demonstrates either a lack of critical reading, a lack of critical reasoning or both.
