Quirky for quirky’s sake, love it or hate it, they’re trying to keep it “Mini” rather than over-designing it by trying to make it stand out. It’s almost understated on the outside but still recognizable.
I've enjoyed watching the retro Motorweek episodes. That "Mini" is huge compared to the average car in the retro episodes. It's crazy how big cars have gotten.
I just got one and it is a lot of fun and never mistaken for any other brand. I would add that it now has an option for a tow hitch and can tow 3500lbs. I have gotten amazing mileage on mostly highway over 36mpg on a 134 mile trip. While it is the largest Mini it is the smallest SUV for most manufacturers, aka, BMW, AUDI, Porsche, Mercedes and so on. If you need more space and capability but still want something unique it’s a great choice.
I'm very happy to see a few cars still offered in green! Those wheels look stunning. I wonder if there's enough room under that cargo floor for a spare tire.
@ the engine mounts were never good in the FWD BMWs. We change often at work. 2014 F5x and similar bmws eat through them like crazy. They never updated the design. We install an insert from powerflex in the new replacement mount to stop it from collapsing.
MINI lost me with their current lineup. The hardtop 3-door is a massive step backwards. Ugly styling, dinner plate on dash and cheap fabric interior to cut costs. This Countryman looks now like a Jeep. I’ll keep my 2020 JCW!
There is a massive recall of the 2025 Countryman for brake failure. The fix is taking months and there is a freeze on the sale of this model. I love Motorweek but this should have been mentioned!
@@sleeksilver Important information that could be introduced in an update to the broadcast. There is also a recall on the 2024 EV model. Sufficient cause for alarm?
$40k, and you get 0 gauges, and a gear shift lever so small that you'll need to teach people about it when they first drive it. Not to mention, BMW reliability is built into this, so be prepared to visit the dealer at least 10 times a year. These are a joke. They have no business even being called a mini.
They ruined the mini, no driver displayed in front of the driver, a stupid useless heads-up. No centre shifter, ugly finishing, most prefer a solid colour, ugly rims. They removed the switches🤦🏻♂️, and increased price. WTF Mini!!
@@Toyo1990 I was referring to the brand, China also, Oxford wasn't a given post-Brexit & BMW have been global since last century. Isn't Aceman small BEV Countryman coming from China?

The most important thing to know about this car is the warranty information
The Legend still going strong! And I’m not talking about the mini! But John Davis.👌😎👍
they should do a MINI van .. hey it might catch on !
They did! Look up the Mini Clubvan.
I like it! The design gives off a minimalist look. Nice job Mini👍
This thing is huge. We drove the EV version and said no thanks based on price and size. Still built beautifully
I love the new look!
I'm very happy to see a few cars still offered in green!

enough room under that cargo floor for a spare tire.
There is! I just got mine about 6 weeks ago and mine came with the optional spare under the cargo floor. It's not full-size, but it's there.
Im into it esp on the x1 platform
No manual transmission mini is the same as an automatic Miata.
Nothing better than a Mini.
I’m surprised Mini is still in business.
BMW couldn't save British Leyland, but they did salvage Rolls, Range Rover & Mini.
Any bigger Mini?
Looks like a Chinese fake of a mini.
Already needs new engine mounts.
That's my favorite part of this. The engine shook like an idiot on startup.
😂
Lol its so true
That was quite a big shake!

Did you see that cold start…. It already needs motor mounts. smh
It’s a BMW engine. Not very confidence inspiring
Looking forward to Mini putting out Chevy Suburban competitor

Third row seats?
uh, no! how is the mini countryman supposed to handle a third row?

This was probably recorded before the recall came out, calm down.

Outside supplier Continental, over a million units & nothing new, Takata airbags, fuel pumps.
Where is a base Countryman model with FWD saving $7000?!?!
it is no longer a mini. this is a Bigi
"Activate Go-Kart". {sigh)
That damn white pixel has me scratching my screen
Up next: Mini makes a 3-row….
The "gold package" from the 90's is back I see 🤢
As long as Mini requires premium fuel, nope!
It gets expensive when warrente runs out it's a BMW I see these get dumped in used car lot in a few years 😮
Mmmm…. I would rather have the regular Mini Cooper

No oval headlamps. Not a mini anymore. Generic car now.
I’m trying to like. But is hard, really hard.
Its going to be great looking at everything screen, a ridiculous looking circle covered in smudges and fingerprints.
BMW trolls have found their way here also.
The most important thing to know is the high maintenance cost involved owning this vehicle.
Unreliable
With such an iconic nameplate you'd think they'd produce something that's not so bland looking. Interior is great but that's it.
Erhm..the mini IS suppose to be bland. That's the whole point
@ lol what? 😂😂
Looks like a Suzuki and that’s not a good thing
A famous journalist was killed in a Mini. I would hate to run into an EV!?!?
I simply cannot fathom who is the target market for this, especially given it's built on the X1 platform, the worst vehicle BMW has ever made.
I don't like the look of it.
all the mins are in the junkyard 😮
The forthcoming all-electric version will only add another reason to avoid this car.
HUD is crap! Totally worthless

Mini has ruined the brand, this car is looking like every other suv ish thing on the market, the interior is a disaster....bad move
Definitely NOT a Mini.
Looks good neat and quirky interior but BMW reliability is a major sore spot.
Made in Germany
& Oxford.
@unowen-nh9ov The production of the new Countryman is in Leipzig. It's the first "Made in Germany" Mini.
Sorry, no Oxford.
@@Toyo1990 I was referring to the brand, China also, Oxford wasn't a given post-Brexit & BMW have been global since last century. Isn't Aceman small BEV Countryman coming from China?
Not pretty on the outside, atrocious on the inside.
Looks cool is relative. This look dorky
Starts at 40k 😂😂
🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
They should make a bigger MINI and call it HUGE. 😉
X1.
The design sucks!
So not worth the money plus lagging acceleration
5.9 0-60 is plenty for this car
