I love HP, but I'd try to avoid drifting away into discussing it in the presence of another author who is there to be interviewed for his work.
I felt the same...very rude especially when the book and movie were great and touch on such important subjects. don't get me wrong I absolutely love hp...but it's an interview on the movie.
I know right? I'm glad a lot of people noticed. I felt bad for the author, you can tell he felt sidelined when actually, his book was more grounded on reality and keeps it real.

Perks was definitely one of my favourite films in 2012 :) as a book fan the film adaptation was great! love the cast and Stephen Chbosky is AWESOME!!! I can't wait to get this on dvd!

In my transition from high school, I had seen how guys approached the girls I had known. I could see their cringes at the come-ons, and the dread or revulsion in response to more overt seduction to one degree or another.
As a boy, I was small, thin, and plain-looking. At age 15, I was just 155 cm and 43 kg (5'1", 94 lbs). Before I had turned age 19, I had grown to 180 cm, and round 60 kg (5'11", 128 lbs). I had no body hair. Occasionally, men would accost me about my smooth, lean physique; some were distinctly bellicose, whilst others--I could not grasp their meaning, but it felt like how the highschool boys treated the girls.
Between these experiences, I promised myself that I never would behave in this manner toward them.
The guys thought that I was "scared of giris" (i.e., "queer"). I had not understood this; it all was utterly foreign from my frame of reference.
I realised that I would rather they think me sexless or "kweeeer" than to make a girl uncomfortable, or worse.
