Marty guitar guru!!! You have cornered the market Marty! Only because you are the BEST teacher out there and continually commit yourself by releasing new -free- teaching videos! I have purchased all of your stuff- except the new theory DVDs - but will eventually get round to that as well! Thanks for opening up a totally new world by your teachings! I'm sure millions will back me on confirming that! Sorry Justin we love you too- ok I have 2 gurus !!!
Thanks Marty! This song is a song my WIFE and I LOVE, I guess you can say that it is our "Love Song" for each other. I practice it every single day and hopefully will be able to play it for her one day!!! Thank you again!!!
I love you Marty, you've been of tremendous help this past years learning to play guitar... just wanted to say THANK YOU, for being a good hearted doer, because of course one can tell... I hope your life is good!
i love that when you play an F chord you play it exactly how I do. especially with an acoustic. It just seems like a 'cleaner" tighter sound. just geeekinng
I told myself, while watching this, yay I'm going to pick up my guitar and play the chord part straight away, but then I got Under the Milky Way Tonight in my head, and had to come back. Now I'm going to go try again. Great breakdown and thank you.
One thing I love about your videos, you give such great instruction I can watch a video even when I'm not playing my guitar, and then a couple hours later when I'm off the computer and get to the music, you made it seem so simple, and flow so well, I can still start playing it. Even if I don't remember it all at first, it flows together so well, the parts I don't remember just sort of.. Happen, without even thinking too much about it.
Marty! !!!! You are the best guitar teacher! !!!! Ur easy guitar lessons n techniks olways help me to learn easily... gbu u teach dis.... ur baby is very cute :) n u are the best guitar teacher man u rock!!
just wanted to say thanks Marty! great lesson, including solo... barre F chord started jumping on by itself while learning this song! no more cheated Fs without bass strings :-)
Marty, You are awesome!! Thank you for teaching online! I just started playing again and learning from you is easy, fun. Its plain to see how much you love to teach and play. Your concise explanations and breakdowns of the chords and hints are amazing. You have the right balance (for me anyway) that's challenging but also learnable with time and effort. Thank you again. I have a request there's a song called "Take my love with you" by Bonnie Raitt from the Slipstream album. I would love to learn how to play.
hey marty, I love that you teach the lessons and they are easy to follow along with. But would you be able to go into the theory slightly more too? Just simple stuff like telling us the key, or how the progression works etc. because that little bit always helps me to explore more. Thanks!
Great video tutorial! I'm guessing you can use the same open major and minor chords to play this Cure song on an electric guitar as well? In a 2 guitar band, one person can use the open chords that you're using, which would probably be best suited for the singer/rhythm guitarist. Meanwhile, the second guitarist can play the barre chord equivalents of those open chords & that repetitive, droning/chiming guitar lick (which is sadly omitted from your lesson).
Personally changing up one string set I wouldnt bother. one thing to be aware of however is that the action of the strings will rise slightly if you do not have it set up, however not in a way that is super differnt
marty could you plz do a lesson for the intro to one last breath by creed. it would be a nice lesson for the more advanced players. great work keep it up
eyy thanks this is a really good tutorial... I wanna ask if maybe you can do a tutorial teaching how to play: come on home by franz ferdinand I will really appreciate it
Was just wondering if any one could help me out...im thinking of changing my string from 9-42 to 10-46 and was wondering would i need to get my guitar set up again???
Hey Marty, you and Justin both teach a lot of these songs that have mostly chords with strumming but then also have an intro and/or solo in the middle with some picking and riffs. What's the right pick thickness to do this with? I'm using a rather stout pick while I'm learning my scales, but it sounds like crap when I strum. Also, too clumsy to change picks during transitions.
Great lesson! Not very sure on the chorus´chords though....I was listening to the record and the chorus´chords sound a little more dissonant to my ear;i could be EXTREMELY wrong, anyway.Like i wrote before, great lesson!!
Hey man, I watch your lessons all the time :) and i was wondering if you could show me us a song for about three or four guitars as my music GCSE class could be doing something in the school concert :) much appreciated if you do :)
Marty Shwarts is the man. He, hands down, has the best tutorials. I love how he shows and tells specifically what he is doing. Thanks so much Marty!
Dude said the kunami code and expected us to just know it first listen with those down ups😭
