Welcome back to the channel and to my tour of my updated graphic novel collection for February 2019.
Thank you to all of the support and kind words I've gotten over the past several months in the comments of various videos, it's been super encouraging to see you guys take an interest in me doing more graphic novel/comic related content.
I'm happy to be back in the swing of things now that I'm in a position where I can record videos when I want to and I look forward to doing some more stuff soon.

I love this collection, mostly because we share similar taste in comic books. But I absolutely love how you give us commentary on each book. I hate when someone takes a video and just speeds past everything and just lists the names. You actually tell us "this was a great run...i felt this was overrated....i really enjoyed this one." That at least gives us a hint like "oh i dont own that book, maybe i should look into it." Much appreciated and I hope we can get an updated collection tour video
Would love to see more videos by you, maybe some reviews, reading guides you are very underrated and would love you to make more videos

I never knew people would be into graphic novel collection videos. I own the entire New 52 Universe and have about 400 or so more different graphic novels from other times and characters most people wouldn't have. I should make a video as well and show off my collection

Your Graphic novels Collections is very Amazing 😱
If you're working for good wonder woman books may I recommend George Perez's run on Wonder Woman. I think that particular run on Wonder woman has a timeless quality and it's really really good.

A quick question, I haven't read Dark Metals yet but Im super eager to read Snyders Justice League. Would No Justice spoil stuff from Dark Metals and could I just jump into vol 1 of his Justice League?

I'd say it's probably better to read Metal first, simply because the overarching plot of his Justice League run so far has been linked heavily to something that happens at the end of Metal, so his Justice League series sort of deals with the fallout of that event, and how the multiverse is changing because of it.
Side note, I found that Metal is also a more enjoyable read if you've read Snyder's run on Batman in the New 52 as well.

@@LongBoiComics u are the man thank u! I want to read Metal but I heard they were planning on doing an omnibus so Im still holding on if they decide to do one, if not I just grab the hardcovers.
Btw Im glad to hear u started to enjoy Swamp Thing, I love him! Snyders run of him from the new 52 was great but Charles Soule run right after was even better! Also they will reprint Allan Moors run in absolute form later this year if u didnt know, I must get that on release date!
@@sebastianlarsson9142 I expect an omnibus is probably pretty likely, yeah, we'll have to keep an eye out.
I did hear about that Swamp Thing absolute, just after I grabbed the first three volumes of Moore's run. I may have to double dip and grab the absolute anyway though!
@@LongBoiComics Yeah same I heard Scott Snyder was asked about it and he said they would do it so in the near future maybe. Did u like the whole Metal run?

@@sebastianlarsson9142 Yeah, for the most part, I liked Metal.
I enjoyed the different evil versions of Batman and the tie-ins were fairly solid all around. The artwork was fantastic (with Capullo it always is). I loved the concept of the Dark Multiverse itself.
The event was kinda crazy and over-the-top but then again, Snyder said from the beginning that that was the point. And unlike a lot of other events, it does seem to be having a lasting impact on the DC Universe now that it's finished, which is nice.
So yeah, I found it quite refreshing, especially considering the seriousness of most events nowadays!

Not sure how frequently it'll be, but I should hopefully be able to get several videos out a month, unless I get ideas or the opportunity to do more stuff (such as gaming related content or other comic related stuff).

Hey man, love your collection I actually recently watched your previous video and loved it as well. Anyways a few weeks ago I got into graphic novels I find The Flash an interesting character so is there any good Flash graphic novels you can recommend to me?
Edit: I Am also reading Batman: The Long Halloween at the moment and it's amazing!!

For Barry Allen's Flash, I'd recommend the New 52 Flash volumes 1-9 and DC Rebirth's Flash series by Joshua Williamson.
Or, if you'd prefer to check out some Wally West, the Geoff Johns run is great from what I've read so far, and I've heard great things about Mark Waid's run although I haven't read it personally.
Flashpoint is always a great read too!

Cool collection! I have that Gotham central omnibus, it’s the best! I love the art, and the genre.
I have some questions if you see this comment.
1: what do you think of ‘noir’ series? Have you read any and would you recommend? They are supposedly just black and white versions of trade paperbacks, so ‘batman hush noir’ for example.
2: I want to get into comics and manga a bit, I really like batman, but I want a bit of variety. Did you have a way of picking what new characters to try out?
Sam noir versions are just the normal Tp/comic but it’s shoes of the inking and sketching more
I haven't personally read any of the Noir books published by DC so I can't comment on them specifically, but if you really like a particular artist, they are cool items to own because, as Dojer said, they show off the initial pencils of the artist. In terms of getting into new characters, there's several ways to do so.
When I first started getting into comics, I'd go by the films and TV series first. So I'd look into people's recommendations for characters that I always loved as a kid; people like Spider-Man, Batman and the X-Men.
Then, I'd mostly go off of the general recommendations that I'd heard of from people online or in comic shops. If the idea of the book or character intrigued me, I'd just give it a go and dive in. This lead me to really getting into characters like Green Lantern, Aquaman, The Flash, Daredevil, Punisher and Moon Knight, to name a few. And more recently, I've been getting into Superman, Swamp Thing, Doctor Strange, and Captain America, for example, for the same reason!
Most importantly, I'd say just don't be afraid to grab something and give it a shot, even if you don't really know anything about the book or the character. Take risks and if you find yourself intrigued by a character, find some recommendations and jump in. Or, have a think about what kind of mythos or genre you are fond of, and see what people think are some good characters that fit in with what you like and start from there!

VenomHush thanks, I know what you mean about just grabbing what seems interesting enough to try out. I got a few classic batman tp’s, and the only one I don’t like at all is batman and robin by grant morrison. The rest I loved, so I’m going to try and sell that one.
After the classics have been recommended, it can be hard to find how many volumes are in a series online. I’ve got the court of owls, will continue that, and I think I’ll get the Earth one series for all sorts of other characters.
Aside from dc and marvel, image and vertigo look cool. But they’re a lot easier to follow, they have more linear volumes. I’m always going to get trade paperbacks, never single issues.

I highly recommend 2000AD comics. They are great and they are the creators of judge dredd.
I've been hearing great things about them, and have been wanting to give them and Dredd a shot for a while now. Might have to give them a go soon!

It is a comic series, yeah, but not DC. Its published by a different company called Dark Horse.
