What if the drywall has a pattern? What are other options that work to keep the pattern without mud? My project is to drop a cat 6 line in two rooms. I like your hole cut youtube to cut out area to where I would drill a hole on a 2 x4 and just push and drill screws to the 2x4. What recommendations do you have that would minimize the drywall pattern so it looks like it is not cut???
Hi! I think all are great method depending on the size, location and what you plan do with the area in the future. Each method has their own unique feature and strength. What I'm trying to get to is that it all depends on your situation. For quick easy fix on small areas, you can't go wrong with method #4.

Whats the difference between hot mud and the finishing compound? And why not just use spackle and paint over it?

Want to see a side view after the wall is finished with paint
is it just me or is this mud super thin?
