@@Anthonydu01630 I said when MJ played in 2001 to 2003, there were already a lot of players in the league who was more athletic and faster than him. Wasn't referring to todays players at all. Todays players play often run and gun and tend to shoot more from outside and since the late 70s, the average NBA player got more and more athletic. The game is fast paced because that's how the NBA commissioner wants it to be. Talentwise, i dont think there is a big difference between the past decades. What is good about todays game is that we see more baskets going through the rim. However, that is only possible when the teams play less defense and invest their stamina for the fast paced offense. Speaking of balance between good offense and defense, i would say the era from the late 80s to mid 90s and late millennium until around 2012 were most representing. Since 2016 after the warriors played well with their small ball and shooting lots of 3s, too many other teams try the same but being less efficient. Back in the late 90s and early millennium, the game was more focused on defense and rebounds that the scoring came short. The increased defense resulted in lower fg% and scoring went down.
Pierce had a taste of how it is going to be guarded in the 90's 😂😂 Old J shut him down. Different rules still got served. Pierce learned and became better.
MJ's movements are precise and surgical. Every step, every spin, every jump, etc, is thought out carefully and executed to perfection. He's not the GOAT because of talent, but because he works out every detail of everything in the game.
@@samuelcrisostomo1534 superior uhhhhh no playing at 45 and being better than half the league today???? Yea that's an overreaction something a stan would say you saying that based on this one video is silly

@John Espo yea very underrated he was giving people the business at 39 40 Scottie Pippen couldn't even dream doing that so imagine if Michael Jordan was on that Rockets and Blazers teams do they win
MJ = if "aight bet" were an actual person...... Had Mike played the entire season that year and hadn't torn his meniscus after 47 games - we would have witnessed the greatest "old man" season in NBA history. He still ended up averaging 25 ppg but he was getting better as the season went on. In the 20 games before the injury he was averaging 27ppg. In the TEN games before the injury, he was back to his old GOAT self, averaging 30ppg on 47% shooting and there was still almost half a season left. So imagine if he'd played the remainder of it. The NBA may have had the oldest scoring champion of all time. Or at least a serious comp between him, Shaq and A.I.. And Mike would have taken a 19 win team the previous season, all the way to the playoffs the following season. Let's not act like the Wizards weren't basically the same exact team, they just added the GOAT. Which goes to show some of you modern fans how great MJ truly was. Had he gone to an actual contender......the Lakers might not have won it all that year. Mike would give it to ANY Hall of Famer if you put him in ANY era of the NBA, he would have been the best player in the league. And not Russell, Wilt, Havlicek, Oscar R, or Kareem would have been able to handle MJ. Add MJ to the 60s Lakers and the Celtics don't win 11 straight. Russell talks like he DIDN'T play on a "super team". Well imagine MJ and a more winning oriented Wilt on the same Lakers team AND...in the same backcourt with the Logo, Jerry West.
I think both are true. Jordan is the G.O.A.T and that combined with his extreme advantage over Paul in the knowledge of the game gave "The Truth" fits.
His drive separates him from everyone else. Past his prime toying with roukies proves his greatness. It was amazing to watch on tv not realizing what we were actually witnessing.
I remember at the time about halfway through his Wizards stint thinking he was still a top 20 player but by the time he retired forever!..I remember thinking he was!..Or was again becoming the best in the world again! That's amazing n young NBA fans should know that opinion!
We will never experience the fire, excitement, work ethic, consistency, defense and offense all at the same time... if he wanted to score he will score. He is the Goat.
Michael Jordan,Michael Schumacher,Dieago Maradona,Carl lewis and all those stalwarts who i idolized in my teenage years never really took of when they returned to the game after retirment... Even though hunger remains for the sport factors like Age,team environments and body take a toll one way or the other...but they remain legends all life❤️❤️❤️❤️

Weren’t a true 6 seed. They were 94 champs. Had a good record, until a mid season trade to add hall of famer Drexler, which gave them some Chemistry issues initially, to ruin their Reg season record. Magic were a young ass team, & Nick Anderson choked 4 free throws in a row.
This just proved that Paul was the Truth even though Shaq gave him the nickname. Jordan noticed him and wanted to play against him. Paul was definitely honored that the GOAT himself took notice.

Players are way more athletic on average todays, LBJ, Greek freak, Westbrook, Zion, Ben Simmons, Dwight, Blake, Zach, Kawhi and even Ibaka all have an argument for Top 10 most athletic player ever, just in this era there are more freaks than in the whole NBA history, Wilt, Shaq, MJ, Vince Carter, Charles Barkley, Wilkins, Karl Malone, Roadman… These are the only retired players on par with the players i mentionned in term of athleticism, i probably forgot some players but still, players are way more athletic todays thats a fact.
@@Anthonydu01630
I said when MJ played in 2001 to 2003, there were already a lot of players in the league who was more athletic and faster than him.
That's why MJ the GOAT.
I love 95 to 2003 MJ. as his athleticism declines, his IQ gets higher. he seems to do moves over and over again but no one can stop it.
his fundementals are so solid, that he could play even without the athleticism
This man would be a good conspiracy RUclipsr
thats what he is
Ong amagine if he was
That Would Be Crazy
He sorta is if you think about it
He basically is
I NEEDED THIS COSGROVE REALLY THE GOAT
Pierce had a taste of how it is going to be guarded in the 90's 😂😂 Old J shut him down. Different rules still got served. Pierce learned and became better.
"He made the TRUTH look like a LIE"
That is one cold line
Jordan stop and pop fadeaways are unguardable. If he's making those you have no chance.
What about Kobes
And you know that, what about Kobe???
One of the best compliments you can have in your craft is when someone says “He’s the Michael Jordan of his sport.” Proof that MJ is THE GOAT.
pierce was so lucky to play against jordan , kobe and james..
Hahahaha..MJ scoring 30 at 40. Lol
MJ's movements are precise and surgical. Every step, every spin, every jump, etc, is thought out carefully and executed to perfection. He's not the GOAT because of talent, but because he works out every detail of everything in the game.
Kobe adopted that same mentality.
I think we can all agree that every NBA player is hungry to play against MJ before they retire.
"Made the truth look like a lie "😂😂I'm dead
He was a lie.
@@toliverkinney5108 He was a LeBum.
Said it elsewhere with videos like this. A 45 yr old Michael Jordan is still better than over half the NBA today !
Bit of an exaggeration
So You watched the video And Say that. No sense at all.
It also depends I don’t know all NBA players but 45 yr old Jordan is 85 ovr in my eyes
@@jordanflores5687 My answer is for You. So, You watched the video And look like you didnt see how superior jordan was Even at his age.
@@samuelcrisostomo1534 superior uhhhhh no playing at 45 and being better than half the league today???? Yea that's an overreaction something a stan would say you saying that based on this one video is silly
You always know it’s gonna be a banger when cosgrove uploads
Pierce wasn't the most athletic in his position but he's very strong and always use his heft to make separation and take his shot. Too bad that advantage doesn't work with MJ as he's strong as well.
MJ won fair and square and he was way older
I’ve been watching this goat for two years
3 years for me
9 years for me
7 months for me
retired for almost four years, returned to the age of 40 with no practice , but he still played like great,
even though we know he's old, but even though his game isn't as good as before, he's still good, a real goat
3 years break from 98 to 2001 and started again at 38 and didn't start again at 40. He has played with washington for two seasons. His birthday is in February, so he always ages within an NBA season.
38 years old with the foot work and speed still along with the amazing basketball IQ 😳
I’ve never met a person whom said Antoine walker was their favourite player.
Wtf ever happened to em' tho' is my question he was decent but got out shined by his opposers during his time but still decent I can say

MJ was a superior player. It's that simple 🤷🏿♂️
There will never be another MJ closer to him Kobe Bean Bryant 2.0 RIP 🙏🏽
I just arrived home from work...how sweet it is when a Cosgrove video is waiting for me to be enjoyed!!!
Bruh, this background music always makes your videos so much better. Almost scary type
jordan was like saying Candyman 3 times in a mirror, you never wanna do that but if you did he made you pay for doing so
2pac , candy man.
I wonder what’s Gilbert Arenas’ thoughts are. Saying 80s & 90s players wouldn’t be able to handle this generation’s players. 🤦🏽♂️
his wizards years were hella underrated
This is why he's the greatest that ever lived! And you young bucks don't ever underestimate an old guy
MJ still top 5 player at this time but he had a knee injury that ended the wizards year. 😞✌️
Prime MJ : to pierce
"You can't guard me, I'm going 50!!"
The more I think about it Jordan wizards years were pretty dope
@John Espo yea very underrated he was giving people the business at 39 40 Scottie Pippen couldn't even dream doing that so imagine if Michael Jordan was on that Rockets and Blazers teams do they win
One of The GOAT'S definition:
Beyond the Twilight...
Made The Truth Became The Lie.
Fantastic Take Sir
I don't know who that is.
the disrespect for bill russell by dis nigga
I think both are true. Jordan is the G.O.A.T and that combined with his extreme advantage over Paul in the knowledge of the game gave "The Truth" fits.
Ever Heard Of The Mathematician who was Constipated…?
They said he had to Work It Out With A Pencil.
His drive separates him from everyone else. Past his prime toying with roukies proves his greatness. It was amazing to watch on tv not realizing what we were actually witnessing.
I believe if jordan have garnet in wizards ,for sure make a good playoff run,and a very intetesting duo mj/kg as teammates
Paul Pierce got his prime when MJ left the game.MJ is a G.O.A.T. !!! Whole world knows that !!!
Old MJ = Prime Kawhi
Hell naw
I remember at the time about halfway through his Wizards stint thinking he was still a top 20 player but by the time he retired forever!..I remember thinking he was!..Or was again becoming the best in the world again! That's amazing n young NBA fans should know that opinion!
Proven that Jordan is a beast 💪...
We will never experience the fire, excitement, work ethic, consistency, defense and offense all at the same time... if he wanted to score he will score. He is the Goat.
MJ set him up every time he guarded him. Making him go left with all that space, and come back right, now he stuck lol
Michael Jordan,Michael Schumacher,Dieago Maradona,Carl lewis and all those stalwarts who i idolized in my teenage years never really took of when they returned to the game after retirment...
Even though hunger remains for the sport factors like Age,team environments and body take a toll one way or the other...but they remain legends all life❤️❤️❤️❤️
The Goat of All Goats!
#MJ
why MJ was so personalized?
: He knows his ability. What he's capable off. His confidence always made him took it personal .
Hey cosgrove I know this isn’t a big coincidence but did you know that mj first game was against the wizards and that last team he ever played for was none other then the wizards what do you think
The GOAT is back! Great video Cosgrove!
can I suggest to make a video about how a 6th seeded Rockets team became the champion in 1995? like how did Magic collapse and lose 4 straight games.
p.s. just a suggestion
@Nel Eizon Cupino If you don't consider Michael Jordan as a goat. I have a video that shows just that. If see it might change your mind or prefer show it to others. Search for this title : Goat debate of Michael Jordan ends here. Only this video shows it in thoughtful Copy and paste the entire wording for the search.
My man, I respect Jordan as the Greatest Of All time and no debate needed for that. I just suggested this content because of how amazing the Rockets are in this season. Thank you for the video suggestion and have a good day to you
Weren’t a true 6 seed. They were 94 champs. Had a good record, until a mid season trade to add hall of famer Drexler, which gave them some Chemistry issues initially, to ruin their Reg season record. Magic were a young ass team, & Nick Anderson choked 4 free throws in a row.
@@honorfirst7506, Yes my brother! These are the arguments that I want to watch from Cosgrove❤.
MJ midrange game is unmatched... Its an art
Would love 1 more comeback at age 60, train for a year and play for 5-10 minutes a game. Would love to see it.
AYYY! Cosgrove with the old background music.. STILL GIVES ME CHILLS FROM THE CONSPIRACY VIDEO!!
This just proved that Paul was the Truth even though Shaq gave him the nickname. Jordan noticed him and wanted to play against him. Paul was definitely honored that the GOAT himself took notice.
Boston Celtics Paul Peirce"" was a force to be reckoned with he played for one of the bests team in the NBA!!!
Imagine almost 4years rest from retirement and still play like Mike an old MJ
*Eastside Low Bottoms sh*t !*
_Tappin' in from South Central LA_

*RESPECT YOUR ELDERS !*
No doubt MJ is the GOAT!.
Saying these guys were stil young like it's a huge disadvantage is hilarious, we're talking about young, injury free professional NBA players who are far from kids and MJ was still schooling then to some degree at damn near 40 years old. Crazy
I just watched Tatum kick LeBrons ass the other day and to think that some people put him ahead of MJ is ludicrous!
You expect a 37 yr old in his first game back from injury to put up 40 nigga?😂

Paul pierce wasn't ready for a 38 year old Mj haha
No doubt about it MJ is and always the GOAT
Who knows what would’ve happened if MJ didn’t get injured his first season with the Wizards
MJ was still giving the entire Boston Team them buckets & he was older. Geeeeeeessssshhhhhh and the league was still a whole lot tougher back then. 2 : 3 zones or 3 : 2 zones were not allowed back then. Clearly MJ is the Goat hands down & I am a die hard Laker fan 💛💜 ( Respect The Game ) ✌🏾
jordan can do that on lebron james too
Pierce lowkey dominated this game so many open looks for the rest of the celtics cuz he was in jordans head crazy i just rmember big baby with the no look reverse windmill poster on jordan this game and pierce with 16 assists them boys snapped
The fact his videos are so good but only 315k subs
Edit you, kot4q, smequile, cliuge productions, and jimmyhighroller should make a video
That will be one billboard or box office worthy record breaker.. I can also include the lesser known, younger but entertaining Halftime productions..
MJ's time with the wizards, especially that first year, is widely underrated and unappreciated. He was avg like 22, 5 & 5 as a 38 yr old
7:45 Killed him right there
Just watching him defend Paul like that at 40 shows his greatness. Not just putting all his energy into offensive stats and not even getting back on d. Yes I'm talking about lebron
