This is amazing. I built my own mini bike out of spare metal I had and stuff I bought off Amazon and a predator 212cc motor. I have no idea what im doing and it looks like poo but it runs and I had a blast building it. I get soooooo much hate on it tho, so many people pointing out the many obvious flaws its kind of annoying. I know it sucks. Its my first time.
Brother, never let anyone belittle the fruits of your labour. You built a goddamn motorcycle. With your own two hands. If they have a problem with it, they should build their own. Keep building. Doesn't have to be a bike. But don't let nobody take that spark.

True story: about six years ago I bought a fox body mustang. Found a toddlers t shirt in the trunk that said “l8r g8r” and had a picture of an alligator on it. I closed it in the hatch and had it hanging down where the license plate went. Drove that car for a week like that. 🤣🤣🤣
It's really quite simple. All of this was done illegally. You're allowed to have whatever silly motorized contraptions you want, you just can't drive them on the road. As long as you're just driving around your neighborhood and not trying to actually commute from point a to point b, or driving it in the city, you'll likely get away with driving these kinds of things briefly on the road because most people aren't going to snitch on you.
@@mchagnon7 Same situation in most of Australia, and most cops won't care. Especially when it's something like this. You'll get pulled up, but unless they're an a**hole (rare though), or in a really bad mood. They'll just be curious.
Dude! That's pretty sweet! I'm sure that with some more work y'all could have figured out the electrics from that mower, too. But, the gas version looks to have done pretty well at least for something light and inexpensive. Sad about the lumber prices, though. I'm working on remodeling (more like rebuilding) the inside of my condo from the people who trashed it before I bought it and my previous budget got absolutely wrecked! Right now I'm at a total stand-still on that. Well, to parody Mary Poppins, "Let's go build a bike!"

@@BikesandBeards Those $ prices are a lot higher than the equivalent European prices. I would pay £16 for a 3/4 inch sheet of plywood in the UK. In the Netherlands, Germany, France, Spain and so on you do have equivalent stores, I have worked around Europe and bought stuff from that sort of store to make microwave radio test equipment

I bought a cheap electric weed whacker from a yardsale with some money I made mowing yards and tried to disassemble it but quickly discovered I did not have the right tools for the job. Then one of my neighbors stumbled upon me and said "that's never going to work. Weedeater don't got enough torque 'getcha goin" I gave up, but I always wondered if it would have been possible...

I'm still undecided about the handlebars ...ah H a threaded copper and buff out the fittings or more better yet copper tubing and sweat the fittings together using Silver solder and it doesn't really cost that much extra and when you use the proper flux silver solder is the easiest to bond copper together with and get really nice-looking joints and you buy your copper tubing in outside diameters I'm not sure if they have 7/8 but I know they have 1 inch outside diameter copper pipe tubing

LOL That part about the Dewalt mower is so true. I actually pulled that move just for the battery packs a few years back. The mower was ok, but drained the batteries so fast I could only get through half my yard before they needed to be charged back up. I'll stick to my gas powered mower.
interesting choices, plywood has it's advantages but tubular metal is old school for motorcycles and Home Depot is likely to have some -perhaps 2" ridged conduit for heavy weight, or if you get out your engineering calculators maybe some thickness of EMT, just totally WAG 'ing out here (wild a$$ Guess),,, looks like you had fun.
