For leash training start as early as possible! Place leash on puppy if it pulls or does not want to walk use a treat. Do not drag the pappy by neck! Get a harness! Make it come to you by holding a treat in hand, let it sniff than make it walk on leash if the puppy does reward and repeat until its automatic it takes time with this breed! But early is essential once they big and males in particular they will try to challenge you and are very stubborn. You want to teach sit, leash walk, lay down, stay and leave it asap! Once fully grown it’s very difficult but not impossible! Once testosterone kicks in you will be going for a walk😂! Use rewarding system works best! They pick up sit after one or two sessions to some extent. Stay is very hard and will need lots of practice because they are super hyper and almost spastic😂!

AT 66 years old, I can honestly say I have never been without at least one dog so the idea of being a "new owner" or first time owner of a dog is foreign to me, but I do know that if I was a first timer, I would likely not choose any wolf descendant breed such as husky, malamute, samoyed, etc. If you don't believe in the concept of a pack, you'll never control these animals. And that's a learned skill most people don't have in their first go around. You simply must understand the rules of a pack and incorporate them into your relationship with these dogs. But, if you do "get it" and you do know how to raise and handle these dogs, the rewards are too numerous to list. Huskies are just special but if you get it right, they'll steal your heart away! Just beware the first 6-9 months. If you value anything, get it out of his reach or it will probably get shredded! When they are teething, they have an overpowering urge to chew things. Patience, strength and above all, consistency are the skills needed to own one. Best of luck!

It's really easy if you start on the right foot at a young age. It isn't about force or coercion... More like consistency and understanding how their brains work so you can communicate effectively.

More about puppy bitting. I got my female Husky when she was 3 weeks old. She bites a lot. Draws blood even. I have tried to replace my arms with chew toys, not working. I give a firm “No”but it’s usually too late. Once she has a hold , she does not let go. Her canine teeth penetrate. Sometimes she will bite just barely with her front teeth only.

Yes, so use training pads, female husky seem to pee straight in the middle of the pad. Make pups a bit less accurate, which is okay, you want them to get use to pee on a pad rather than straight on the floor.
Once he/she is used to the pads, take then our every 3 to 4 hours to your nearby dog park, and award with ‘Good Dog’ and treats.
Have them use the dog park / raw ground (non cement) area more often then the pad and have them come less pad dependent.
As time pass, and as they grown, They will sit by the door, thats when you know u gotta take them.
      Create a routine that works.
For me its 8 to 10 am, anytime around this time frame, morning pee/poo, then breakfast for him.
12 to 2 pm another potty break.
5 to 7 pm, dinner first then potty break 30
      mins later.
And at 10 pm to 11 pm, before good night sleep, another break.
No food after 7 pm, and no water after 9 pm.
Have them drink plenty of water and have them pee before sleep.
My dog loves this routine and has not pee’d at all, accident sometimes but he does not intentionally pee.
He does not defecate at home, but he did get upset stomach and defecated in his crate, doc said prolly something he chewed up.
Have them do not chew or pick crap off the ground, its really like taking care of a toddler.
