Hey! Mike here from the video... just want to say we still read all the comments even though we graduated in '16 and we're floored that people are still watching it. So cool that so many of you want to be engineers. Now, go do your homework and double-check those units! :)
Oh wow, it’s cool to see this comment. I found out this vid in ‘13 and graduated in ‘17 (not Purdue but still engineer). I always check this vid once in awhile because it’s refreshing :)
I watched this video before I came to US and Purdue. 7 years later I got my PhD and did a postdoc at Purdue, now I am a research scientist working in industry in US. And still watching this. Thanks
I’ll have you know I was bumping this with the windows rolled down back in 2012, my senior year of my BSME degree as I drove around the campus of UCF. The algorithm has re-delivered me a slice of nostalgia
Props. I was 2 years into my mechanical engineering career at that point (Clemson BSME).Had this song been out then, I would have been bumping it in my daily college driver - a 1991 teal camaro.
My old engineering teacher used to play this every day, he was the best teacher I've ever had. He cared about his students and actually had connections with us. At first, we would cringe at it and stand around awkwardly when he played it. By the end of the year, we would all sing along with him. He really reached through to us and he moved schools the next year. He still comes every year for graduations and I cry every time i see him. He's an amazing guy and teacher and he's definitely changed my life. I hope there's more teachers like him in the world
This song is one of the few things that helps keep me sane through my junior year of engineering. Thanks guys for giving my study group a pump up mix to get us ready to dive into what feels like infinite hours of homework! And it's nice to know there are other out there :)
@@corinne4866 I am a semester away from graduation, on an internship and the company is gonna onboard me as soon as my internship ends. There's exactly zero time to relax rn 🥲🥲
I heard this song first when I was freshman engineering in Michigan State. Now almost 10years later I already worked for three years back in China, still an engineer!
Love seeing a video like this come out of my alma mater. Obviously Purdue engineering is great, but the AT department whose planes they borrow in this video is where it's at. Boiler Up and Fly Navy!
This is pure amazing. I'm the Student Ambassador for PLTW at my school and I'm SO glad I came across this. I showed this to my POE teacher and he was amazed. Our entire class enjoyed this. Thank you.
first watched this in middle school... now i'm finishing up my first year in Purdue Engineering and have a class in that Armstrong classroom you guys filmed in
WHoa!! Cool... This is both catchy and motivating in a way; shows the more humorous and less serious side to Engineering. Definitely going to be an Engineer now.
I graduated from the Computer Science & Engineering department, not from Purdue, but that didn't keep me from pressing the 'like' button on this video. Love it.
I love this video! Way to go, Purdue! I LOVE the fact that your President is in it... now that's a top dog you can get behind! So excited to have two engineering students in the NCIIA Epicenter Stanford -related Student Ambassadors program to continue shaking things up
Lol I used wolframalpha yesterday. Man this makes me homesick for Purdue. Awesome job guys, gave me a good laugh! And it's so cool that Mitch participated! ...I'm not an engineer though...
You guys are fantastic! Don't listen to those people saying nasty stuff. This is an amazing video and I can not wait to see more. From a Penn State Engineering student
+Gabriel Frasson Nunes My uncle didn't get an engineer degree and he designs buildings for a living he has some form of architecture/construction degree.
I agree with TheRitaco, I am prior military and I am proud to tell people I am now an engineering student. Physical prowess will only get you so far. I go to the gym too...but nurturing your mind in my opinion is far more respectable than everything you just listed.
I may have graduated as an ME last semester and am no longer in school, but I'm blasting this jam every day to and from work. I'm adopting this as my personal anthem. Bernoulli doesn't have shit on my car's streamlines
+Jacob the Gentleman Potato Software/Computer/Network Engineers code. Also most engineers know how to code with at least python, a simple and easy language to learn. It helps with plotting and calculating statistics
Jacob the Gentleman Potato Yeah, there's all sorts of branches of engineers. It stems from the fathers: Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, and Electrical. Then out of Mechanical you get Design, Thermal, and Energy engineering. Out of Structural you've got Environmental, Structural, and Transport engineers. Out of Chemical, you've got Materials, Molecular, Corrosion engineers. Under Electrical you've got Computer engineering. All of the above aren't the only things under the father engineerings. Sometimes it's good to be broad when getting a degre, because you have more options. Another neat thing is that after the fathers, the branches have their own branches. Under Electrical engineering is computer engineering. And under Computer Engineering is Software (programmers), Hardware, Network engineers. Sure, all engineers will find use of programming so the math is easier, but the heavy duty programming goes to software engineers or anything under Computer engineering
+Jacob the Gentleman Knowing how to code is something that is good to learn in general, and particularly so if you're going into business, engineering, etc. It's not exclusive to CS.
+Lila McGrew I understand that in a field dominated by men, it can be slightly offensive to seemingly shortchange the women who do excel in that field. But there is no reason to be offended by the lack of female voices in this video. This song was sung originally by a man, and is in a key that is ideal for men to sing. Therefore, it only makes sense that men would sing it. They included women in the video to represent the female engineers, and to me, that was sufficient.
The guys in the video were all roommates/neighbors in their freshman dorm, which was a male only wing. They wrote and recorded it in their room, then asked friends from the Engineering honors program to join them... Their prior video was entirely guys as it featured their floor, so they asked females to join this time. No need to make it a thing.
Man... what is with all the haters? I'm no fan of Mitch's politics... but as University President... the fact that he even CONSIDERED being in it is cool. The whole production is very good. If the engineering career goes south... music... more talent here than on American Idol (even with a cover song). Great job guys! Now they need to do a "primer" version so all of us NOT engineers know what the heck all that stuff is...
GO CARDS. But for real, this song is all that's keeping me going to study for my multivariable calc and thermo tests tomorrow. Second year fall semester. Lesssgooooo.
I like it! I also appreciated the credits and the acknowledgement that came 1st on the list. Can we see a list of the majors represented to truly get the parody?
Look at all the haters commenting on here! Great job guys, and don't listen to them. You do cool things, other people do jealousy. To each his own. Boiler Up!
Wow, this is extremely relate-able even down to the fact that I have Brophy and the other day he looked at me kind of stupid when I pulled out a calculator... haha
Thank you for letting us know! Our free soundcloud account turned off the download availability after 100 downloads. I have uploaded another identical copy of the song and the 100 should start over for it!
For some senior projects? Hell yes they do! Your adviser won't just give you a controller and the feedback equations to fly an unmanned drone with a payload, those aero guys have to figure it out themselves.

Omg that's great! I wanted to move there after my highschool but couldn't make it. So, I'll try applying for grad school
This song speaks to me on a spiritual level.
Completely agree. HomeDawGGGGGGG.!

Same I listen to it before studying for tests
Gives me motivation for exams lol

saw this when I was a high school junior. Now I am a purdue graduate. Thank you
That sounds cool asf
This made my night! Studying hard for my Calculus for Engineering 1 Exam on Thursday this is my jam.
Sara Bachofer that’s a Engineering tech class, not a real engineer 🙄
Did you use wolfram alpha? LOL
xihai luo LoL
hi bye cheating as king
I'm using mathlab....
But it's not free anymore so....
Yes i do
Engineers studying online in 2020 really needs this vid for motivation XD

What engineer has time to make this?!?!
Industrial & Systems Engineers
i think they were seniors that just graduated.

10 years ago have played this song, today I am an Engineer. 😊
I heard this song first when I was freshman engineering in Michigan State. Now almost 10years later I already worked for three years back in China, still an engineer!
"I know, I know, my mach speed, my turbo; Bernoulli aint' got nothin' on this wing shaped air flow"
You are a wordsmith.
I remember when this came out - I was a junior in college. Still applies as much now as it did then! My kids love the song too.
Love seeing a video like this come out of my alma mater. Obviously Purdue engineering is great, but the AT department whose planes they borrow in this video is where it's at. Boiler Up and Fly Navy!
Who designed the planes? Aerospace engineers!

Physics and Math, at least there are no Chemistry ;_; *mechanical engineer whines*
God damn 10 years ago, I remember when this came out, our project lead the way teacher in middle school showed us this.
here 2020 . ill tell the future that this video will be inspiration for next generation

NICE!!!!!!!!
the engineering song finally...
Thanks for describing our lives perfectly!! Cheers from the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, CO!!
Coolest President ever seen.
Glad you liked it. That's something we're looking at for future videos. Thanks for the feedback!
I've watched this more than 20 times now, and every time at "physics...IU sucks" I crack up laughing! You guys are hilarious!
If you are at Purdue don't worry about the GPA. Still be proud just to graduate in Engineering! Purdue makes it tough.
Engineers rocks!!!!
*rock?
This is the sickest thing ever
356 IU students were triggered by this.
Make that 359, haha! IU SUCKS! Boiler up, Hammer down!!!!!!!!!!!
3:02 is one of the highlights of the video!
Proud to be a Purdue engineering alumna!
I'm not an Engineering Student but I can still relate to almost everything in this video. Well done Purdue :)
National anthem of all Engineer
Showed this to some FIRST robotics people, they are in love :P
What team are you part of ?
Simply brilliant. For a moment i felt proud for being an engineering.... then i remembered my grades..
This song speaks to all of us in engineering College
as an engineer myself, I can confirm this guys approval.
I know it's engineering when there are only two girls dancing with them.
I love the job you guys did! It takes a lot of work to make videos like this! I have had to make one for a class.
I cant stop listening, great job!
GOOD SHIT! BOILER UP!
I want this song to be played at my funeral after I die of engineering school overload
awesome rap i am a engineering student. ME ftw.
Lol I used wolframalpha yesterday. Man this makes me homesick for Purdue. Awesome job guys, gave me a good laugh! And it's so cool that Mitch participated! ...I'm not an engineer though...
Great video!!! However. Engineering student body is represented by mostly minorities at Purdue. All I remember are asians and Indians.
chicoman000 dude indians are asians too 😂😂😂😂
In the past week, I've listened to the first 30 seconds of this video 500 times!
pose at 1:20 (resume text) looool!!
How the f*** did you manage to notice this??!! Respect!! Add 'observantness' to your resume!
"Wanna get creative in your life THEN GET UP AND GO!"
most inspirational line ever
This is amazing.... but where are the female engineers?
I cannot wait to go to Purdue! Its awesome to see something fun come out of it! ahaha :) GREAT video. Love it so much!!
I'll let the IU folks be creative when they're putting my Subway sandwich together

Im an engineer at Penn State, this is perfect! I love it Purdue =D
but where are the asians?!
Asians don't dance, that's why. *JK
At the library...they study for their finals.
We're legit too busy to be creating videos. It's either studying, eating... or some kind of online gaming.
I agree I am in school for Engineering and I am busy but I do stop to have some fun before I graduate to have some good memories.
I want to be a enigneer
Thats what they all say until they get to their junior year
This really hit the spot in undergrad. Only difference when you're in grad school is you might have money and you chill with the faculty
FEMALE ENGINEER FTW!!
I know some proud mother who sent me the feed to this. I love it. Good JOB guys and gals.
"That wall the Chinese did" next it's gonna be the wall that trump did. Probably gonna be changed to Trumpgineering.
Beautiful, well said. So excited!
... as you were saying? 🤣

Pffff it's all about computer science.
That's why I'm a double major. ;) Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.
cause the buildings we have are all made in C++ right ?
+Gabriel Frasson Nunes Totally
+Gabriel Frasson Nunes My uncle didn't get an engineer degree and he designs buildings for a living he has some form of architecture/construction degree.
it's clearly not about computer science catia is common among mechanical eng.

Bernoulli doesn't have shit on my car's streamlines
why am i not surprised by the lack of female vocals.
And rapping skills. If you know what I mean XD
Us female engineers and those studying to be engineers have our pride to think about... haha.
They are busy getting gender studies degrees
So much testosterone
I actually know multiple female engineers. My mom is one of them :-D
That's awesome! Purdue is almost as fun as the video makes it look!
But engineers dont write the code. The CS degrees do.
+Jacob the Gentleman Potato Software/Computer/Network Engineers code. Also most engineers know how to code with at least python, a simple and easy language to learn. It helps with plotting and calculating statistics

I’d start crying and drinking now. And remember at least your not EE. I’d do 5 pages of calc before ee hw. Edited because I do math not write
