- Ever since the day I got Project GK5, my goal was to find the perfect balance between daily practicality and track-capable performance. In this video, I share with you guys what I have specifically done to my GK5 in order to achieve that balance. I love cars that look like they could have been made that way from the factory and you did that well. You’re right about the cvt too. I’ve seen a few that failed at pretty low mileage

Re: gas pedals: yes. I tried putting grip tape on all of the pedals once upon a time. I was surprised at how much more feedback and control I had over the the biting point and modulation of the clutch and brakes. The improvement in feel was so drastic, that I could compare it to the change in feel when you upgrade your OEM rubber hoses to braided brake lines. 10/10 will do it in all cars that will be driven for fun. BUT, I find that having a grippy gas pedal to be detrimental. For one, I use the gas with my heel down. So due to the geometry, as I put more throttle, my foot pivots down, while the pedal pivots up. So the contact point of my foot to the pedal actually slides down as I apply more throttle. With a grippy pedal, I found that the friction was binding the movement, preventing me from smooth gas pedal modulation.
So in a nutshell, I get the clutch and the brake pedal as grippy as I could. Then I get a not so grippy extended pedal for the gas, just so that I can reach it easier for the heel-toe.

Really great and informative video! :-) I'm daily driving a white 2018 Honda Jazz Dynamic (130HP) and am really happy with it. I'm looking for new tires and really like your wheel/tire combo. Im also running Rota wheels in 16x7 et 40, though they are the Slipstream model. I'm on non-lowered stock suspension. Do you think that I would have issues with rubbing if I also buy the Michelin PS4 in 205/55r16? I'm currently running Yokohama Advan Neova AD08 R in 205/50r16 and have no issues at all, but I really wanna try the PS4's next time around, if they fit :-) Sorry about the pun...
you'll have rubbing issues if you dont add negative camber

Btw, what are the wider tracks at the front for? (the 5mm spacers)
And if you were to choose from the GT Champiro SX2 (I think you've had these before on the Type R afaik) and the Potenza RE003, which one would you get? :D
Thanks! For front wheel drive cars in general, a wider front track width will make the car have better front end stability. You want the rear to rotate on a fwd car so you give it less width at the back. The RE003 is superior compared to the SX2 in my opinion. But if you are gonna go for the RE003, you should consider the PS4 as well (if available in your size) because they are in the same price range.
@@FranzGaw Thank you! Yeah the re003 is in the same price range of the PS4 but it's now on a 3+1 until December sooo it's pretty much in the same range as the sx2 now 😄

Yes it does. You'll need more negative camber to prevent it from rubbing.

Currently running ksport coilovers and hardrace rear camber kit
- where to buy those savanini collars and roll center adjusters
-planning to run reverse staggered set up (F-17x8.5 with -2deg camber/R-17x7) will this help in enhancing grip and maneuverability?
Thanks for the sub! I love well built FD's. :) I'm not sure kung may roll center adjusters for the local FD platform. Kung wala, you will have to minimize your lowering so as not to ruin the geometry of the car. For subframe collars, I think marami nang brands na nagbebenta nyan for the FD. Just look for them on facebook haha
going reverse staggered is a good idea especially if you prioritize performance. Make sure lang din na you got your tire sizes correct for the front and back.

You can buy Michelin PS4 sa mga dealers ng Michelin. Try messaging Achievers Sales Corporation on Facebook and check if they have the PS4 in the size that you want. A+ customer support sila. :)

Hey Franz, I'm considering buying a Fit but have heard the Earth Dreams engines have problems.. what do you think?
If you're talking about the oil dilution problems, i think that only applies to the 1.5L turbocharged earth dreams engine.

I am blessed to have both in the garage. What I can say is that the Jazz is more fun to drive at the limit because it is pure honest low cost fun. It has nothing to prove. The Type R on the other hand is a very serious weapon. It's the car to have if you're looking for something that can impress/ win track competitions. It's also the car to have if you want all the performance and practicality in one package. Yung Jazz kasi practical but will never keep up with the big boys.
Where did you find the anti-honda stickers? Also will a hot pipe get vtec noise?
Anti-honda stickers were made by our group of friends and are exclusive to our group. I dont know what hot pipe means but you probably wont get a vtec noise from that

recaro sr7's dont have headrests so you might need to go for a GoPro suction mount kit on your window instead

I dont know much about car builds but nakaka tuwa itong video mo. The jazz indeed is the most practical choice for locals who want a daily driver and upgradability. The mazda 2 is just too cramped
The Mazda 2 is an awesome car. I think I would have chosen a Mazda2 over the Jazz if they offered it with a manual transmission. 😁 But in terms of practicality, nothing beats the Jazz in its segment hehe

nako mahabang discussion yan hehe. Pero to put it simply, lahat naman ng oto pag nilagyan mo ng madaming weight, bababa yung ride height. Nag dedepend nalang sa spring rate mo tsaka how you set up the coilover kung gaano kalaki yung ibaba nya.

The Swift is actually a car that I really like!! Lalo na yung bagong ZC33S Swift Sport to be specific, with the 1.4L Boosterjet engine. Sadly, we will never get that here. 1.2L lang yung meron natin dito kasi ASEAN models ng Swift yung binebenta ng Suzuki Philippines, which is disappointing in my opinion. The Jazz is far better than the outgoing local Swift here in our country.

For my car yes it is safe. For spacers in general, you want at least 7 lugnut rotations when tightening hanggang sumikip. Kung hindi ka umabot ng 7 rotations, then that means your spacer is too thick and its not safe to run those anymore.

bro, magkano from factory yung rota racing? malaki kaya difference niya from mga resellers? mas ok kaya kung 205/50/16 ang gamitin ko instead of 45? as you've said, metro manila is not a good place for low profile tires kasi eh. hahahaha!
brand new rota racing is around 21k. 205/50/16 is good for all around use. 205/45/16 for pure performance

Does your Honda Jazz have any oil dilution issues?
None that I know of for the L15z.
I do have the same car and do not have issues. As far as I know, oil dilution issue is for direct injected honda engines running in cold weather. The ASEAN spec GK5 does note have the earth dreams cylinder head from which the oil dilution issue was documented. HTH

Yes may rubbing issue yan dahil ang lambot ng stock na springs. You will also need to have negative camber para di mag rub.

Yes, it changes, but not by a lot to the point that it is an inconvenience

Hindi pwede, kasi yung stock mirror may clips sa likod. Yung spoon was made to stick on top of the stock mirrors talaga.

may rubbing haha. You need to dial in some negative camber to make it stop rubbing. Pag 205/50/16, walang rubbing.
